What about his direction from the diocese.
Do you really think the bishop told the priest, “Hey, I heard Joe Biden is going to be in your church today. I’ll tell you what…just wait until he presents himself for communion, then ambush him by denying him the Eucharist.”

Sorry. I don’t buy that.

Are there false Democrats?
I am a registered Democrat because if I was not, I would have no,say in my local government. The past 4 years, there has not been one Republican candidate on the ballot for Mayor or my City Council & County Legislature seats.
If I could not vote in the Democratic primary, I would have no say at all.
I would rather vote for the lesser of two evils than not vote at all.

I’m in a swing state with a Democrat governor and Republican legislature. My township is red but the county is blue. Senators are split. Every vote here counts.

I live in Western New York. In a democratic city in a split county. My city is the county seat and the population center. The surrounding county is pretty evenly split, but with our Governor and the drain of the downstate swamp things 4will never change.

Father decided to subject Biden to a public humiliation. That clearly lacked charity and suggests that Father’s actions were influenced at least as much by his political persuasion as for his concern for adhering to the Church’s teachings.
With no evidence as to intention or action, your statement amounts to little more than calumny against a priest.

Exactly.

Since that information hasn’t been released, no one here knows how it went down.

I think what we should do is pray for Mr. Biden that he will one day repent of his support for abortion and be able to partake in the Eucharist with all of us. 🙂

But it is best handled by the man’s own pastor for many reasons. He isn’t a newbie. Priests should not be going to the press in a charged political climate.

Well there is evidence of intention isn’t there? The Priest contacted the media and gave a press statement. Isn’t it reasonable to conclude a few facts based upon what we know. Publicity! Public figure! Polarized electorate. And the thing that bothers me most, Biden was a one time visitor in a state far from his home. There was only a single Sunday for this priest to act.

It is in one of the articles ( there are not many. ) I forget which one frankly. The pastor’s press statement is in a few papers. Sorry.

Apparently the American clergy does not have a uniform pastoral course of action. Cardinal Dolan for example said he would not.

You asked a second time my answer remains. Thinking about it, what else might have happened potentially? A reporter just happened to be there to see if Joe received again this Sunday?

Anyone else present could easily have called the media. You simply do not know.

Ascribing these actions and motivations upon the priest without evidence is calumny.

I told you right away that I read it. It seems you needed to accuse me so go ahead. Ironic way to defend the priest.
If the media called, how about , no comment?

the media would probably go everywhere joe went to get public reaction. it is not too far fetched to think the media was at the church at the time of the incident. some of the media are probably catholic and took in their obligation at the same time.
