O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. x10

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Our Lady’s work continues! So thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization apostolate! Two evangelists were available.
  • We are thankful, and a little in awe, that we had three people waiting for a Rosary before we even set up: two teenage girls, and a man perhaps with housing challenges). Our Lady is attracting people without us having to say a thing!
  • Repeat visitor “Wheelchair John”, the parking garage attendant, stopped to visit. He told us he was living on his own at age 17, and earning good enough money to do so. But he also talked fondly of his “drug days”, which I found disconcerting, given his claim to be a recovered addict. Please pray for him?
  • “Mr. Catholic Lite” stopped by again. Evangelist Chuck asked if he’d prayed the Rosary he received last week. He said no, but had talked with his sister about it. His sister belongs to the same non-Catholic Christian denomination as he, and had two Rosaries – one crystal, and one wooden. Our visitor accepted the wooden one from her, because it seemed more suitable “for a sinner.” We again encouraged him to pray it.
  • “Parker” also walked by. When evangelist Chuck asked him if he had prayed the Rosary we gave him last week, he said he had tried it and that it was “nice”
  • Several more (different? same?) groups of teens stopped for a Rosary, but this time they were each astonishingly polite. Two of them (one each from separate groups) also accepted a copy of the kerygma after admitting to not being Christian.
  • Evangelist Chuck prayed the opening prayers with one group of three pre-teens. Two said they were Christian, and one said she had no faith. Yet, all three prayed the Rosary’s introductory prayers with us. We invited them to come back with questions next week.
  • A woman and her teenage son stopped. The son accepted a Rosary and a brief explanation of the devotion. The mother did not want one, but talked with evangelist Chuck about the message at the non-Catholic Christian service they had just attended. Chuck, in return, shared that week’s homily on Zacchaeus, the tax collector. They agreed that it was a blessing to be inspired by Bible stories.
  • A convention with a Spanish name was going on in the hockey arena. Attendees were dressed up, mostly in black. Not one attendee was interested in receiving a Rosary or talking with us. Evangelist Lucy thought it was a Spanish branch of a non-Christian cult that is active in the area.
  • The two evangelists gave away 12-15 Rosaries and its booklet, 2-3 copies of the kerygma, and at least one map of area parishes.
Please pray for these people and for us again today? Please ask God to send us people ready to perceive their need for Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

Our Lady leads people to her Son. So thank you again for your prayers, encouragement, and other support for this apostolate! In turn, may God protect, greatly bless, and save you and those you love!

Lighting the way to Christ, our apostolate continues. So thank you again for your prayers for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort!
  • “Mr. Fiction” was surprised, and actually stopped for a moment, when evangelist Chuck asked if he’d read any new fiction this week. “Some magazines,” he mumbled. Then he seemed to notice that he was talking to us, and said, “I see you’re still peddling your fiction,” as he walked away. Evangelist Chuck asked, “How do you judge what is fiction or not?” He called back with a sneer, “Intelligence!” May the Holy Spirit continue to widen the crack in the door of conversation with this man!
  • A father, accompanied by 2 or 3 children, stopped when one of the girls, perhaps 8-10 years old, wanted a Rosary. She was not at all familiar with it, and didn’t know anything about Christianity. She accepted a Rosary, its booklet, and our one-page summary of the kerygma. Then her little sister came and also accepted a Rosary. The dad did not.
  • A group of three people stopped, also in their 20s. The woman spoke with evangelist Lucy, while evangelist Chuck spoke with her boyfriend. He had been baptized Catholic, but did not practice the Faith, nor intend to at this point. Though he loved its theology, he “just didn’t like the Church”. When evangelist Chuck pointed to the Eucharist as the best reason to stick with the Church, as well as being an amazing privilege and blessing that he was missing out on, the man shook his head and repeated that he was not interested in “church” at this point. Some time ago, he had received a copy of the Catechism from us and had been reading it. He told evangelist Chuck that he “found it interesting” and has used it frequently when he had questions. His girlfriend is a non-Catholic Christian and, when they have discussions about religion, they refer to the Catechism. The woman was not at all familiar with the Rosary and was delighted to find out, from evangelist Lucy, that it focused on Jesus. She accepted a Rosary and its pamphlet, and seemed to look forward to trying it. May that Catechism draw them both into a full relationship with Christ Jesus in His Church.
  • Another two 20-something women stopped. When evangelist Lucy asked if they were Christian, they hesitated, as if unsure what “being Christian” meant. May those copies of the kerygma we give out begin to light their way!
  • Altogether, the two evangelists gave away 15-20 Rosaries and its pamphlet, 1-2 maps of area parishes, and 2-3 copies of the Good News/kerygma.
Please pray for us again today? Please ask God to send people to us prepared to perceive their need for Him and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s effort.

Jesus Christ is the light that enlightens the world (cf. John 1:9). So thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate that encourages people to seek Him. In turn, may He protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!

All ages called to salvation, thanks to your continuing prayers and sacrifices for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort. Two evangelists were available.
  • A group of 20-something Catholic women stopped. They had just attended the 3-day Catholic conference for young adults, which had ended an hour or so earlier. Many of them didn’t have their own Rosary, so they each chose one and accepted its booklet, as well as the encouragement to pray it daily.
  • A young boy (3-4 years old) came for a Rosary. Perhaps just attracted by their bright colors, he didn’t know what they were and had never heard of Jesus. Evangelist Lucy tried to tell him briefly about salvation, and gave him a copy of the Rosary pamphlet as well as the one-page kerygma (for his parents). His family didn’t slow down in passing, so he ran to catch up, calling, “Mom, this is for you!” May God bless his entire family!
  • About 6-8 young teens came by, in a couple of different groups. The first was a group of three girls. Evangelist Chuck recognized one of them as having stopped many times before, and having practiced praying the opening prayers of the Rosary with us. The other two said this was their first time, and the tallest one asked if they could have “a necklace”. We explained that Rosaries weren’t jewelry, but were for prayer. However, when we suggested we pray it together, they all whipped out their cell phone and said they were late for something. However, they each made sure they had a Rosary before leaving.
  • Two women stopped. One claimed to be Catholic, but hadn’t gone to Mass in a long time. Evangelist Lucy told her the name of the Catholic parish in her town, and gave her a copy of our “Returning Catholics” packet, which includes a “self-test” and a kind explanation of the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
  • Four university students stopped when one of their number enthusiastically said “yes!” to our offer of a free Rosary. Christian but not Catholic, they were not practicing their faith. Evangelist Chuck encouraged them to dig deep into the Mysteries of the Rosary and to seek a deeper relationship with God.
  • A dark-haired man stopped, wanting a glow-in-the-dark Rosary “for protection”. Evangelist Lucy let him know the protection comes with actually praying the Rosary. He professed to be Catholic, but when asked which parish he attended, he said they’d “just moved here.” He did accept map to area parishes, and the invitation to get reconnected.
  • Altogether, the 2 evangelists gave away 15-20 Rosaries and its booklet, one “Returning Catholic” packet, 1-2 maps of area parishes, and at least one copy of the kerygma.
Please pray for us again today? A big family festival is going on in the convention center. In past years, we usually have many Catholic visitors who want to know how to reach their “lost” family members. Please ask God to grant much good fruit for His Kingdom from today’s effort?

Salvation is still necessary, and God is still offering it. So thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!

Christ is truly the King of the Universe, and 100% worthy of trust. So thank you for your prayers for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort, which tries to spread the Good News of Him. Two evangelists were there.
  • Repeat visitor “Walt” stopped by, looking much his old self. He said he’d regained his strength, that people had given him a lot of stuff (such as, down sleeping bags) without his asking, and that friends were holding onto his model car projects and other possessions.
  • While evangelist Lucy was visiting with Walt, a man stopped who was not familiar with the Rosary. He looked with interest at the pamphlet as evangelist Chuck described the Rosary devotion to him, how to use the Rosary for prayer, and the benefits of becoming closer to Jesus Christ. Chuck didn’t notice that the man was wearing a stocking cap with a border made of upside-down crosses. If he had noticed, Chuck would have wanted to ask him about the hat!
  • A big man approached the table. He also appeared to be homeless, and had one eye closed by a purple and black bruise. He listened as evangelist Chuck explained how and why to pray the Rosary. Then he pointed to a prayer card with a picture of Jesus and asked what it was. Chuck showed him the Divine Mercy prayer on the back and the man gratefully accepted it.
  • Some teens stopped by for a Rosary. Most admitted to not receiving one before. We tried to ask each group to try praying it once a day from now until Christmas, and see what changes.
  • A man and his son stopped by because they had some extra time before a movie began. Already Catholic, they each gladly accepted a Rosary and its booklet, as well as encouragement to start praying it.
  • One woman, heading in to decorate a tree for the annual “Festival of Trees”, stopped. A non-Catholic Christian, she had given her deceased Catholic grandmother’s Rosary away – to a relative who didn’t seem to appreciate it. The woman missed having it, but since we had one in close to the same color. She accepted it and the booklet.
  • Two women, coming from having worked on decorating their tree, stopped. They each accepted a Rosary.
  • A woman broke from a family group to choose a Rosary and accept a pamphlet. She said she was very familiar with the Rosary because she had grown up Catholic but didn’t attend anymore. She said not to worry as she was good friends with Jesus. She didn’t stay to hear our encouragement to return to the active practice of her Faith.
  • The your-faith-is-fiction nonbeliever came by, and commented that he hoped it would snow soon. Little by little…
  • Altogether, the two evangelists gave away 15-20 Rosaries and its pamphlet, 1-2 maps of area parishes, and at least one Divine Mercy bookmark.
Please pray for us again today? Please ask God to send people to us prepared to perceive their need for Jesus Christ and His Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom come of today’s efforts?

Little by little, God attracts people to Himself. So thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!
