That’s the whole point: " the fact-finding people probably need to take these further facts into account, especially if they have been taking some kind of email or textual evidence as evidentiary: that’s the SCARIEST (my emphasis) notion in this whole thing" (jrpresearch.org).

Everybody do yourself a favor and review the report below:

JREducation:
This is just a blog. Bloggers have many opinions. This particular blog does not prove that the SOLT acted maliciously. In fact, this blogger oversteps his bounds. You and I cannot tell the SOLT leadership to back-off. This blogger did that in one of his statements. Only the bishop can do that.

Fraternally,

Br. JR, OSF 🙂

Just so everyone knows, there is now an official countdown clock counting the seconds to an end of an “era” on www.fathercorapi.com

-Happy new year … 😦
Things like this make me think more and more he just wanted o.u.t. of the priesthood.

I guess one question that either hasnt been asked or he hasnt answered, has he decided not to live by the promises he made at his ordination?

Does he plan to date? Get married? etc etc?

You might not ever know unless you buy his soon to be released autobiography…
I’m hoping SOLT does a follow up to re-clarify what they already said about the situation.

So this site claims he was charged with a misdemeanor which was either “dropped” or for which he was “acquitted.” The site states both, but it can’t be both. And this took place in Florida. And I’m not very experienced at reading this kind of document - who filed the charges? Was it Corapi? Who dropped the charges? Or what judge gave the acquital?

And the fact that his ex-employees seem to have taken ownership for his preferred website domain name is not new - why they did it is unknown. Fr. has claimed it was “stolen” from him, but he has not filed any legal action against them for such. Its a little hard to steal a domain name - whoever registers it owns it, at least until it expires.

Most importantly, what does any of this have to do with the main point of most on this thread - disobeying a command (or commands) from a religious superior and blocking an investigation by his superiors by willful refusal to temporarily release certain witnesses from their gag agreement?

From SOLT statement:

“Fr. John A. Corapi submitted his resignation from the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (“SOLT”) early in June.”
Oh thank you! I really had forgotten, there have been so many twists and turns on this…

:o

It’s a horribly made website. All the orange links are difficult to read. They prove nothing except a possible dropped misdemeanor. Shoot the messenger.

Hardly a report. There is a lot of what looks more like slander going on there. It is a blog, and anyone can write anything they want on a blog. I’ll stick with SOLT’s statement and The Black Sheepdog, why use anyone else’s opinion when they know as much or as little as any of us do?

A countdown clock.

Dear Jesus, please help John Corapi!

This letter was not wrtten by me… I would never do that. I have no authority whatsoever to even deliberate on this case. It was the Bishop if I understand well…
That letter does not appear to have been written by an educated person. For one thing “shepherd” is spelled wrong - they spell it “shephard.” The grammar is also all over the place.

In all communications (not just the referenced one), be careful not to confuse education with language proficiency. The letter could have been written by someone whose first language is not English.

Just sayin’ …🙂

He said it had been “a hard 10 years.” So if the last 10 years were hard for him, I guess he has wanted o.u.t. as you say. Wasn’t he doing what he wanted, speaking and preaching, during the last 10 years? Why would it have been hard - he could have stopped doing that at any point? I’m so confused…

You bring up a good point. How will the past 10 years be different from what he is wanting to do in the future? Does he not want to do speaking engagments? Preaching? I really dont see what the difference may be other than he doesn’t want to be a priest while doing it.

I could be wrong of course, but I dont see what the difference will be other than outside of the priesthood?

I have started a continuous rosary for Fr. Corapi here on CAF in the prayer intentions thread. For those of you who are interested in joining together to pray that Our Lady will rescue Fr. Corapi, here is the link:

forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?p=8110176#post8110176
Just post and pray the next prayer in the rosary, and come back as often as you like to continue it. Thanks!
Putting this up again, please join us in prayer, I just put up the 1st Glorious Mystery! I think it’s wonderful that the Glorious Mysteries are up today!

He mentioned using Facebook, Twitter, and podcasting, as well as web radio, and then “hopefully” regular radio to reach a wider audience. I get the impression that he will be broadcasting, not doing appearances any more. His first 2 messages were only audio, not video, which suggests he’s going to be a voice on the radio or internet, instead of a visual. In fact, in his “Moving On” video, he seems to me to be uncomfortable in front of the camera.

The whole thing is insanity, IMO. What could he talk about now? How can he even BE a sheepdog when he is cutting himself off from the shepherd? I hope he doesn’t start tearing down the Church, but I kind of fear that, honestly. His spirit seems so bitter and angry, and paranoid. And I think he’s not with safe companions.

Please, Lord Jesus, help Father Corapi come back to his senses!

The devil is waging a fierce battle here, and we should all be fighting for Fr. Corapi against him. Fr. Corapi has done so much for all of us; he has probably won many battles for so many of us in our sins, through his prayers. Now is the time to set aside our shock, disapproval, and curiosity, and return the favor through rosaries, Masses, and love. We must help Fr. Corapi in this, his weakest moment! This is what the Body of Christ is all about.

We could rally together and have as many Masses offered for him as we can… And we could all pray novenas for him together. Anyone interested? We could start a new thread with a novena for him. (Unless this has already been done… I haven’t looked yet. 😊)
Respectfully, I would encourage you if possible to read through all of the threads associated with this topic, although they are many. People ARE praying for Fr. Corapi. I do not know that a dedicated thread, etc., has been started to that end, but nearly everyone who has posted to date has mentioned that they have been and are continuing to pray for him. Beyond that, I am not sure how we can help a man who apparently sees nothing awry in what he is doing and therefore doesn’t see himself as in need of assistance. And that is the crux of this biscuit - he initiated the break from his Order, not the other way around, he is the one who wants to enter this “new era” as he has called it. His Order and the Bishop just want him to return home.

ESL English has a different pattern of wrongness to it - if you know what I mean. When you pronounce it out loud, you get the “feeling” of a high school student or first year college student, rather than a person from a different country.

What further facts are you talking about? The fact finding panel has hard evidence from witnesses other than J.C.'s goddaughter that he committed acts unbecoming of a priest. Even if all of the evidence were spread out in the open, his supporters would continue to shout that it is a conspiracy against him, the people involved are not credible, the process is immoral, he can just quit if he wants to anyway, etc., etc., etc.

I repeat - how is it that ANY human being can engender such an extraordinary amount of loyalty from his followers that they willingly suspend all sense of logic and reason in order to exonerate and defend him. It is breathtaking to see, and truly very sad.

You know, Fr Corapi’s actions speak for themselves. This has gone beyond the accusations or the veracity of the accuser. He himself is now the one who is the accuser, so to speak. His recent public actions are there for all of us to evaluate.

It doesn’t matter if the accusations are correct of not - Fr Corapi has gone off the reservation. He did that all on his own.
Excellent point and very well said.
