Judge Bork should have been blocked.
Judge Bork should have been confirmed. He was a true patriot and a man who loved and respected the Constitution of the United States. He would have been one of the best jurists to have ever served on the Supreme Court and instead we got jurists up there who believe in making the laws, not interpreting them. The worst outrage however was him having to be judged by the likes of Ted Kennedy, a man who killed a woman and got off scot free.

Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Ted Kennedy was certainly involved, but kill her? I would doubt that if for no other reason than he didn’t want to ruin his political career.

He was probably out going to commit adultery with a willing participant and had an accident and she was killed. Both bear the blame. But murder? No.

And I wasn’t even born until the 1980s, so I only know of this from books, online, etc.

Ted Kennedy was the kind of Catholic who led his Democratic party over to full scale support of abortion. Abortion goes well with the kind of lifestyle he chose for himself actually. Abortion absolves womanizers like him from any kind of responsibility for the women that theu enjoy using so much.

nytimes.com/2009/08/31/opinion/31douthat.html?_r=0

there was no downside for him.Catholics still speak well of him here. His sister Eunice’s contributions are quaint and eclipsed by his large, dark shadow, as the NYT noticed in the above article.

Oswald never killed Jack either. That was never brought to trial.

No, Jack killed Oswald so Oswald wouldn’t talk. Jack Ruby was a well known “Kennedy hater” so why kill the man who supposedly killed the man you hate so much?

As with all thing Kennedy, there’s a conspiracy theory and a mystery involved. How did bullets enter Kennedy’s brain from the opposite direction of Oswald? Add in the Kennedy hating Ruby killing Oswald and bingo! Conspiracy, which, in this case, actually seems likely.

But this is way off-topic. This is a thread about Gabrielle Giffords endorsement of Clinton. Giffords is so well liked, I think it will help Clinton, though it’s pretty clear she’s going to be the party’s nominee and probably the first female president of the United States.

Good Grief, get a life, Jack Kennedy, aka John F. Kennedy.

Con’t even pick up sarcasism?

BTW while it’s terrible what happened to Giffords, I have little tonouse for her or her husband, or their politics.

He sure didn’t get anyone to try to help her. Isn’t that called an accomplish?? I do remember!! Career before LIFE, How many times do we hear that now. Funny how "innocent " he was but the tiny unborn, “truly innocent” babies count for NOTHING! God Bless, Memaw

I didn’t forget that.

The Democrats haven’t been in control of everything for more than 40 years, and it hasn’t gotten worse, it’s stayed the same. The Republicans have had control part of the time, and what did they do? Nothing.

Abortion can’t be stopped with legislation just as child molestation and pornography can’t be stopped with legislation. My brother and sisters and I would never consider abortion because we were TAUGHT from the time we could understand to value the sanctity of life. We were sent to church.

The way to stop abortion is to educate children about the sanctity of life.
And we educate them about this by voting for those who have vowed to keep abortion legal? Life is sacred as long as it doesn’t interfere with your political views?

Slight tangential, is anyone watching the Hulu series 11.22.63?
It’s a sci-fi drama on time travel and trying to save Kennedy -

Yes and capital punishment, euthanasia, unlivable minimum wage, lack of support of families with children, lack of access to healthcare, etc all undermine that education on the sanctity of life through the lifespan.
Can you show us where the church teaches that any of the issues you list rise to the level of abortion? Higher wages and and healthcare do absolutely nothing for those denied the right to life . The prevailing idea on the left seems to be that these children must die until society fully embraces the a liberal agenda.

The really sad part is that she did not drown-she suffocated. She found an air pocket in the backseat and slowly suffocated while Ted sat on the bridge trying to determine how he was going to spin this in such a way it didn’t end his political career .

Kennedy got himself out of the car and did nothing to try and save her. If I remember right, it was quite some time before he told the authorities that the accident even happened. Like I said, nothing happened to him. How the people of Massachusetts could continue voting for this low life is way beyond me.

It is reasonable to hold that the issue of nuclear war rises above the level of abortion. That could end not only the lives of the babies in their mothers’ wombs, but the lives of the mothers and fathers as well. The right to be born does not mean much when there are no people around to give birth.

And we educate them about this by voting for those who have vowed to keep abortion legal? Life is sacred as long as it doesn’t interfere with your political views?
When Trump praises Planned Parenthood and says they do wonderful work, that’s pretty much voting for someone who is actively vowing to keep abortion legal. What does Trump think PP does in there – only pap smears and mammograms? No referrals to kill unborn babies? It’s going to be interesting to see how many Catholics conveniently overlook how abortion’s a non-negotiable to vote for Trump.

When was the last time you had to sacrifice a strongly held political view in order to support the pro-life cause?
Whenever I reluctantly vote for a candidate who opposes abortion but supports the death penalty supports

I don’t know of anyone who supports nuclear war, do you? it is interesting to note that more people have died in this countries abortuaries in the last 6 weeks than have died from nuclear weapons in all of history. Were I faced with one the prospect of one candidate who I was afraid might start a nuclear war and one who supported unrestricted abortion I would not vote for either.
