It means don’t let yourself get sucked into the malice coming from the other side. Its a form of nonviolent resistance that neither backs down nor returns the violence.
I believe that you are referring to an attitude of peaceful coexistence and respect. All well and good for you and me. But when it comes to those in that community that want to legitimize their lifestyle choices and force them upon small children and those who find their choices extremely objectionable, I will opt for the righteous anger I feel. Charity and “turning the other cheek” is okay up to a point. It stops at their trying to force their agenda on me.
Your comment in bold is not my experience at all. How specifically have they done that to you? What small children are you talking about? Please be more precise.

No, FOX viewers scored lowest on tests measuring actual factual knowledge of current events. They are, objectively, the least informed news consumers. The best-informed were those whose primary source is NPR.

yes, i would love to know how they did the test? they probably had fake questions to go along with their fake news!

that is presented as good and normal?
Whatever one’s personal views, as a matter of law, gay sex, gay marriage, and gay child-rearing are all legal in the US.
Yea, well the responses to my post’s question concern my personal views. And my personal view is that the agenda of the lavender mafia is forced upon me by politicos etc, foisting their “views” on my children and others who object to the idea that homosexual sex and its expressions are “disordered” (and thank the RCC for giving me a better word than the ones roaming around in that portion of society that has a hatred for that mob.). Yea, it’s legal, but I don’t agree. And I have that right.
Gays should be allowed to live in peace, free from the threat of physical harm. Beyond that ………

I think that on a Catholic Forum, we need to take special care not to demonize a marginal and vulnerable population.
Do you, or do you think on a Catholic forum, we should surrender our position on homosexuality, and “cave in” to the demands of the lavender mafia?

Gays should be allowed to live in peace, free from the threat of physical harm. Beyond that ………
What do you think needs to be done for gays “to live in peace, free from the threat of physical harm”?

They did statistically valid sampling in which viewers from Fox scored lowest on questions like: which party holds the most seats in the House of Representatives?

I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt and presume you understand the basic concepts of polling, and that no poll involves questioning every member of a group.

and we learned from the 2016 election how reliable polls are didn’t we?

From a personal standpoint, respect and obey Catholic teaching about people with deep seated homosexual orientation.
From a legal standpoint, all the laws of the Country and the Commonwealth in which I live, protect the physical safety and security from harm of all people, of all persuasions. I don’t think there should be any “special” laws for any “special” group.

And this is the difficult part for people to understand, but, without a social safety net, outlawing abortion will result in horrible conditions for children and mothers, causing the inevitable rebound to legalized abortion and then much, much more abortion.
A weird fantasy, unsupported by blatant history.
Most of western history was with abortion being illegal, and conditions were not horrible for children and mothers.

What specific poll are you referring to? I skimmed above and didn’t see a link.

I would agree that in general radio listeners will be more knowledgeable than TV viewers. FYI, quite a few conservatives also tune into NPR.

Then you don’t much about history.
ROFL, so life was just horrible before Roe vs Wade, and still is wherever they don’t have abortion on demand?

You need to break out of your bubble and travel the globe a bit.

Sigh. This wasn’t that kind of poll. It was more along the lines of random testing.

Yes, I was not making a conservative/liberal distinction. But Fox News does not produce well-informed viewers.
