Your obvious sarcasm does little to advance the conversation and I said nothing about being forced to have gay sex. You might show some respect, though, for the majority of posters on this forum who are Christians who live their faith. I completely disagree that gay marriage will not effect the Church, society, and the family unit profoundly. Let’s talk about Massachusetts since you mentioned it, where Christian parents are NOT even allowed to opt their children out of gay sex ed classes which is clearly a violation of our moral obligation to protect our children from what we consider an ungodly influence. Our first priority is to LIVE our lives in accordance with the statutes of the Lord, and as a free republic, to be able to reject (without undue influence) that which we consider immoral.
I do not treat with sarcasm anyone who has not already treated me with scorn or self-righteousness.
I show respect to every poster here, at least initially. Then, when certain attitudes are taken, they can lose that respect, yes. I hold adults to very high standards of discussion. I teach teenageers, and expect it in my classroom, too. And I expect even more from full adults.
Yes, let’s talk Massachusetts.
Can you explain, please, how gay marriage has anything to do with the policy around teacher control of material in the classroom? If you can’t do this satisfactorily, don’t expect me to just roll over and say “Uncle” on the issue. You only have a point if you can show that the passing of gay marriage
caused the teacher in question to become inflexible. And good luck with that. But I will wait to read your argument. Otherwise, you are merely associating recent (actually, the Lincoln school in question, I believe, is from events in 2004–but I will let you research that to make your case) events merely to build a cloud of ills, all of which you would like to suggest
caused each other. If you don’t mean this, then please be clearer about what exactly you are claiming is a *cause *and which is an
effect.
Thank you, and I engage in this discussion with all due respect, no matter what your faith is (I rarely even look at those religion labels).
