K of C has been a help. St Vincent Depaul has helped, but no one has been there to make my home liveable like the government.

I come from a weird family. My father-in-law is very rich and actually tithes 10% . He believes he should also be taxed more. He gives to charity what he feels he should be taxed to offset the difference. My father who is elderly and poor believes every social program is wrong, except the ones he uses.

Then again I prayed to God for help and that’s the door He opened. I refuse to tell God he is wrong. I’m not that dumb. As long as I praise God he opens the cracked door of confusion and hardship so it is a flood gate of grace and favor.

Yes, it is a sad situation when some people who are supposedly good Church goers, adapt the political stance of the far right wing to cut out all government aid to the handicapped and crippled in our society today. Where would the crippled, paralyzed and handicapped of our society be without the government aid and government programs voted in for them by the Democratic Party and other sympathisers.

And, who has done that?

BTW…where my crippled brother is without government aid is as a productive member of society who received many free surgical procedures from the Shriners…a charitable organization.

You like to assume a lot about people based on limited information. It is sad. I’m not opposed to “all government aid.” I have never said it. You can continue to malign people based on limited information, but please don’t try to take the moral high ground when you do it. You are just embarrassing yourself.

To say that anyone has suggested that we do not have a responsibility to those who cannot help themselves is a falsehood. I recommend you broaden your sources of information before you make statements like this. Knowledge is power.
 
I recall as a child when Loeb’s *Union Leader *carried a large front page picture of Eisenhower, a president who sought peace in Korea and around the world, and put under that picture in large letters: “PRINCE OF APPEASERS”.

 Gingrich should offend all those who believe in marital loyalty, who oppose extra marital relations, who are committed to integrity in government, who disapprove of former members of Congress becoming lobbyists when they leave office, and who oppose hypocrisy among our politicians. His election will bring no credit to the church but only raise questions when it comes to such church policy as re remarriage etc. For example, does the church wink at three marriages when two of them were not in the church? 

  Besides all this, Gingrich does a great job of presenting pseudo-history that he manipulates to impress his listeners.

  God bless America. Let us elect a president that will reflect family values and not be a poor example to our young people.

Gingrich has long ago confessed (publicly as well as privately) the wrongs he committed.

Gingrich did not become a lobbyist! His COMPANY was a consultant to Fanny/Freddy,
and over 6 or so years received about $1plus million. Big difference.

The Church did not “wink” at the marriages not in the church. Many have access to these,
not only the wealthy, in case you bring that up. Those of us outside the tribunal and the
petitioner are not privy to what was revealed, but we do know the results. I am speaking
of annulments.

To what “pseudo” history are you referring? I don’t recall any specifics and the presentations I have heard did not have any.

You try very hard to bring up these “untruths” over and over again. Sorry, but I could
not resist bringing up the facts again.

Obama had lots of problems, it didn’t seem to hurt him. I mean, it helps when the media actually conspire to try to get you elected, but what the heck…our Presidency has become a joke anyway. 🤷

Same for all candidates, that is why it is important to get out the truth and not just
believe allegations. If we vett all our candidates now, the one selected will be ready to
concentrate on Obama.
 
If I had to pick from the two Catholic candidates (Santorum and Newt) I’d choose Newt… At least Newt has compassion for people…

That may be true from a theological point of view, but how effective that argument would be to someone voting in a secret ballot booth is not clear.
 
I’m glad…Ron Paul and Gingrich are the only two Republican candidates I’d vote for. So I am very happy that they are in the top three. Though I’m starting to have reservations about Gingrich and his working for Freddie Mac. Other than that, he really is better than many of the other candidates running.
