Also, don’t forget the politics of greed, envy and class warfare. They work as a political strategy - as despicable as it is. Add to that the axiom, “those who rob Peter to pay Paul will get the political support of Paul” and you get the strategy of Obama going forward. He has hundreds of millions to spend too. That is why we will need all the votes we can get - including those stubborn Paul supporters who are always saying “there’s no difference between the two parties.” Well, there is a big difference. In a close election, every vote will count.

Exactly. Obama is going to play on that envy and ignorance and the accompanying “Occupy” movement.

The Catholic label can make them immune somewhat. Though Gingrich less so, since most are of an opinion of suspicion on his conversion.
'm still voting for him in the primary though. I just don’t have any illusions as to the tactics the Dems will use against both.

You have to vote your conscience. No one can predict the future anyway.

At least with Santorum, the attacks will be based on falsehoods.

Gingrich they would be based on FACTS.

Also wouldn’t it backfire to attack Santorum, when Catholics make a huge voting block. Even if he’s not a Cafeteria Catholic. Broad attack on issue as well as the major faith Obama is supposed to share? and more specifically Catholicism that still a large majority of U.S. voters share with Santorum.

Not to mention – on Abortion which this country is softening on protecting babies?? Doesn’t that climate favor Santorum over Obama? Counter to the media perception that all this country’s voters act like celebrities.

Santorum has a bit of an upside, as the more familiar an electorate becomes with him. The better he comes off.
Gingrich has that opposite effect.

This country should put up the strongest character, and let the chips fall where they may.
God’s grace is still involved during these elections.

We are also discounting that Santorum is an active member of the Mystical Body of Christ. That always helps as far as grace goes. Although, this country is pretty poor shape so it still comes down to our free wills.

Romney appears to be the one who has the advantage 🤷 however but one never knows if Santorum can pull an upset. Probably would take a Hail Mary though.

I say this politely, because it seems you favor Newt in this race. We all have to come to our own conclusions, so that’s okay.

(And I am for Obama being voted out, so that’s good!)

But I am going to state what I think of Newt’s bombast.

If you have to make sure everyone knows you are smart – and the public, has to have proved that you ARE? You ain’t…(or in Newt’s case, he is overcompensating)

Gingrich, for all his intellect, doesn’t carry himself as someone who is confident in it. Not only that, for a ‘smart’ guy he sure ends up apologizing for his series of LACK of judgment doesn’t he ? It’s almost as if he is behind people who have more common sense.

He apologizes even as late as three weeks ago.

And finally, a truly smart person isn’t impressed with their breadth of knowledge. They recognize they ultimately know nothing, and the less said the better. You can see this in the true intellectual and wise men of the past and in the present day.

I would hate to tell Newt that he is still a human being, with a limited mind – and that there are creatures who laugh at how impressed he is with his intellect. They’re called angels.

Gingrich isn’t humble in his demeanor and in his interviews. He exalts himself and not in a way that is self-aware, but he really believes and has a grandiose opinion of himself. I could quote him on many instances this year alone.

And that is a red flag to me.

Nevermind that Obama relies on teleprompter. Most of the GOP candidates don’t rely on teleprompters. Though Rick Perry needs one.

The fact that Newt to this day still has to throw out meaningless asides, to show he also reads history books too – is not impressive to all the people. He may fool some of the people, but not all of them. He is a Charlatan.

Don’t see why Romney giving millions to LDS should derail him - it can be a given that someone of his standing and connections in LDS would have given proportionate amounst or possibly lots more , to LDS ; we need not even wait for tax returns reports for such info .

Tithing and giving to causes one ardently support might be a good way to know where one’s affinities deeply reside .

Would be better to find out if as Gov. of Mass . , if he gave financial support , to any Catholic org. that supported prolife causes , antipoverty programs etc ; , or , as more likely , contributed to LDS , who in turn could use their 'families are for ever ’ ads and such , to lure away persons , with falsehoods !

And even the agrressive money making ventures , was that too good bit motivated by the ambition to be a big supporter of LDS , at the expense of many others !

Having heard how tithing is one way to also make persons loyal to the causes they are involved in , since many could be more reluctant to look at facts more truthfully after commitement at that level , such wisdom of the children of this world has possibly also helped them , to keep the recruits in !

Something that the rest could take note of and may be put into practice too - before the army of potential convert makers could come to the doors , emboldened , with any possible surge in image , which might be the best expected outcome desired by those who have made major investments , in the cause dear to them !

Interview will be aired on Nightline Thursday night. I doubt if an interview with a upset ex is going to cause many problems for speaker Gingrich.

Newt Gingrich’s two daughters issued a letter to ABC executives in response to reports that the network would be airing an interview with the candidate’s second ex-wife days before Saturday’s South Carolina primary.

“ABC News or other campaigns may want to talk about the past, just days before an important primary election,” Kathy Lubbers and Jackie Cushman wrote in their letter to the network, released to members of the news media. “But Newt is going to talk to the people of South Carolina about the future– about job creation, lower taxes, and about who can defeat Barack Obama by providing the sharpest contrast to his damaging, extreme liberalism. We are confident this is the conversation the people of South Carolina are interested in having.”

Lubbers and Cushmann, daughters from Gingrich’s first marriage, called the failure of a marriage “a terrible and emotional experience for everyone involved” and said that anyone who has undergone it understands “it is a personal tragedy filled with regrets, and sometimes differing memories of events.”

The letter did not request that ABC reconsider the airing or timing of the interview, which comes just as the candidate is experiencing a last-minute uptick in South Carolina polls. The Associated Press reports the interview will air Thursday night.
