Feel free to air your thoughts and explanations on the many topics I surely left out.
Good answer. I wish I would’ve thought of that as an option. I voted for hedonism. Pleasure seems to be all that American culture seeks. Hedonism seems to be this sort of socially acceptable demon-mutt of sloth, lust, greed, hate, self-love, selfishness, gluttony and vanity. And pop culture seems to say, “why not? You deserve it!”Relativism. “When all religions are the same” is accepted, the uniqueness of Christianity disapears. The message will eventually also disapears. It won’t completely disapear, but it will shrink. That’s what’s happening right now.
I don’t see secularism being replaced until Christ returns in glory to put it in its rightful place. If you’re referring to the rise of Muslim extremism, I don’t think that’s going to be as popular or even as deadly as secularism. At least Muslims live by the notion that their actions are accountable to Allah. Secularists hold no higher authority than themselves. And if they, as their own highest authority, deem other religious should no longer be practiced, all hell is going to break loose throughout the earth…literally.I voted for secularism, which I think encompasses relativism. The world has seen some of your choices from the beginning and others have come and gone. Secularism will go too. It will be replaced, and is being replaced even as we speak, by religious intolerance such as the world has never seen, especially against Catholicism.
I don’t think love of others will ever prevail until people love God first.I voted secularism because it seems to take God out of everything, but actually if Everyone truly Loved Everyone, I suppose all other problems would disappear.
