I voted love. Without TRUE LOVE as GOD would define it nothing else is possible. This kind of love is not selfish worldly love.

So lack of TRUE LOVE creates each of the other problems that were given as choices.

I posted “other” because I believe the “root cause” is self hatred, nilhism…it continually projects the self hatred onto others, and eventually kills the capacity to either give or receive love in any form. It is a type of self destructive force brutal against instittutions, government and self respecting groups and eventually ends in trying to self-destruct. Like a vampire it is never sated…it always seeks to devour more because it divides self against self.

consumerism:

people are too materialistic and shallow. it gives rise to all the other problems. love for others, for example, is overshadowed by our desire to fill our houses with more stuff. and ambivalence might be solved had we more time to contemplate rather than working 24/7 to buy the next greatest thing. mass-consumers are also hedonistic and always trying to please themselves, and secular, i guess, because they are less and less concerned with tough life questions and more concerned with superficialities. etc. etc.

Definitely Relativism. Many of the options above are spured on my Relativism.

that’s just your opinion.

I would say the devil is the greatest threat to the world today. When this war ends and original sin along with evil is gone there wont be any threats against the world. All of the choices in this thread come from him.

The LORD said to Satan, “Whence have you come?” Satan answered the LORD, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.”

All ideologies have good and bad points, but when you look a both conservative and liberal ideology, you can say Jesus is a liberal.

Liberalism on *social issues *is a sin, but I do not believe economic liberalism is a sin. What about the preferential option for the poor in CST??

fundamentalism and intolerance… it’s sort of a new, global form of jingoism

look at the bombings it has inspired and power that small but vocal groups can wield domestically

plantation mentality as expressed by elitism…shown by left wing …

Please don’t say Jesus would be “fill in your agenda” He is the risen Lord. Don’t put His Holy Name in an agenda. He transcends us in the best of all ways, far surpassing any ideology. He is the endpoint that all who desire good should aim.

I voted other…neo-conservatism. The ideology that America is God’s chosen country and of America’s duty to rid the world of what it sees as evil by any means necessary.
Yes, American exceptionalism is a danger today. :yup:
