Hillary says that “Religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed” to expand access to abortions? That sounds pretty pro-abortion to me. I thought that the US was a free country? Why should I be required to change my religion in order to please someone like Hillary Clinton?
Oh, a lot of that’s old! She’s changed, just like Trump!

You are free to practice any religion you want, but so are others. Some of those others don’t believe abortion is wrong. Since this is not a Roman Catholic theocracy, we should not impose our religious beliefs on them.

And again, Hillary Clinton doesn’t make the choice to abort any child. The mother-to-be-does. I don’t agree with Clinton on everything; I doubt anyone does, with any candidate. But let’s place blame where blame belongs: with the mothers who make the decision to kill their unborn child. Or do you not believe in personal responsibility?

I think you’re kind of drifting into namecalling instead of discussing the issues without throwing stones.

thanks for the link Jim. I hope everyone reads it.
The only problem with it is that it’s old news, and some is taken out of context. Clinton’s changed on a lot of those things, just like Trump.

Can you provide a source for us if you are saying this is no longer true?
Can anyone provide a source about what Trump believes?

She was talking about a strongly patriarchal society, not changing anyone’s religion, and even that is “old news”:

“Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will,” she explained. “And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed. As I have said and as I believe, the advancement of the full participation of women and girls in every aspect of their societies is the great unfinished business of the 21st century and not just for women but for everyone — and not just in far away countries but right here in the United States.”

Not providing links after the Moderator Warning this morning. Everyone here knows how to use Google.

Did you read the Moderator’s Warning a few pages back? We aren’t supposed to link to pages that contain slurs or ad hominem attacks. I’d remove the link if you still have time. Too risky.
Calling Hillary corrupt is neither a slur nor an ad hominem
Just follow the money, the facts and favors granted back it up.

Nice try. This is the Hillary Clinton thread. You stated she changed since the 6 months ago that the article Jim linked came out, so I asked if you could source that.

Source? I don’t believe she’s corrupt at all. Perfect, no. Corrupt, no. No evidence.

I don’t know why, but everyone on here acts as if Obama has been one of the worst presidents ever. And yet based on surveys in which historians, political scientists and other scholars are asked to rank US presidents from best to worst, Obama gets a much better ranking than his predecessor George W. Bush. For example, according to the surveys done by the Sienna Research Institute, out of 44 presidents, Obama was ranked 15th whereas George W. Bush was ranked 39th. In a 2015 poll of the American Political Science Association, Obama was ranked 18th while George W. Bush was ranked 35th.

It’s not hard to see why George W. Bush ranks so badly. Not only did he get us into a terrible and failed war in Iraq which has cost the US 1.7 trillion dollars so far, but it was during his presidency that the Great Recession began, the worst global recession since World War II.
Well not quite everyone, Thorolfr. 😃 He’s not perfect. Who is? But he actually has been my favorite President in my lifetime. I shall miss him and our wonderful First Family. I agree about Bush.

Many pages back, I, too, stated that I greatly respect and like Obama. I think his family is wonderful, and I like his “no drama” approach.

I will miss him, too, Sy. I will read any book he publishes.

I just saw your post, Lily. These singular threads on each candidate are moving quickly and I’m behind.

It is a blessing. Good people and, clearly, good parents. My respect for our current First Family is boundless. I suspect our country will never forget the grace with which they have handled their “station.” It is truly a gift to us all.

I agree with you, LS. 👍

The Obamas are a wonderful family, and their girls conduct themselves so well.

What?
How is it name calling when all I am doing is quoting what she said and it was less than a year ago? So it is not old at all. When did she ever retract what she said? Here is the quote:
“And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed."
I just don’t get why I have to change my religious beliefs to please the Clintons? I am not going to go along with changing my religious beliefs to please Hillary Clinton.
