James,
I’m kind of surprised that you can make such a rush to judgement about another person’s spiritual disposition. I mean, maybe if you were a lifelong friend of Hillary’s, had known her growing up, and had deep conversations about her religious beliefs, well maybe you might have an idea of where she stands spiritually. But even then, only God truly knows what’s in a person’s heart.
I really blame our political leaders (in the US, though I’m sure it’s the same in Canada) for setting such a bad example for their citizens. Many of them label and relentlessly try to tear down one another with hate speech and personal attacks. I fully support fighting against ‘issues’ one doesn’t believe in and fighting for issues that one does believe in, but not personally tearing down others.
To me, personally fighting against individuals, or questioning their motives accomplishes nothing. I mean, who knows what has shaped Hillary’s views on abortion- none of us know and it’s pointless to speculate. But maybe praying for her might actually cause a change in her views. She’s a soul too you know, she, just like you and I, was created by God and is loved by God.
And as I’ve put in my previous posts, she has done some very good and very Christian work on this earth through her public service and we should be grateful for those while at the same time we pray that she changes her views on abortion.
