It’s my understanding that Fr. Gruner doesn’t claim that Sr. Lucia is mistaken (and even if he did, how would that make him the “devil’s agent”? After all, receivers of private revelations can be mistaken, can’t they?), rather he claims that false interviews and statements attributed to her have circulated.

Sr. Lucia is a brave one in standing up to those who threatened her with death if she would not tell the message our Lady gave. But she has not been permitted to speak publicly on this matter without the permission of our Holy Father or Cardinal Ratzinger since the 60’s. And the so called interviews and statements circulating about have been found to be dubious in origin or false.

Sr. Lucy, of her own free will, chose to become a Contemplative Nun and she lives by those rules.

That’s unfortunate. I pray that Fr. Gruner’s situation with the Church gets corrected; but my original point still stands: that this priest was never disciplined for anything he has said regarding the Fatima message. Rather, it was his refusal to go back to his diocese when he was ordered to.

The issue here is that Fatima is undergoing an ecumenical venture (like the building of the new shrine) and allowing certain Hindus to pray to their false gods within one of the church’s holy shrines dedicated to our Lady. So forgive me and others for feeling a little bit concerned and apprehensive about this.

For the sake of the argument; if Fatima indeed does go down this road where pagans and inter-faith practices are to be held there, how many of you would agree or defend it?

For the sake of the argument, if the new shrine does not allow all you claim it will, does that mean you will become a faithfull follower of the Church and the Pope and stop listening to Gruner??? Time will tell !!!

Why doesn’t that article have any pictures? They are being very descriptive, they speak of video that proves what they say, but yet there is nothing?

This is such a travesty of truth Bud. As Joao said; Don’t fall for it. The devil has been trying to destroy Fatima since the beginning. He uses those who’s minds are easily lead to scandal.

No orthodox news service has carried this. Only fringe groups. The Grunerits of conspiracy are always putting this kind of stuff out. They have no proof but that does not stop them. The agents of evil never tell truth. Check your source material before you jump to conclusions. The source is not a good one.

Actually, this story was posted be several orthodox Catholic sources, Mark Shea and Michael Rose’s blogs among them.

I haven’t seen a single source come out to discredit it.

I have every reason to believe its real.

How the Church could allow it is beyond me . . .

I can’t believ how much fun it is to read this thread! I really needed a good laugh or two.
Fr. Gruener has been suspended for not returning to his diocese; if I recall, wasn’t that diocese in Italy? And he fears deportation from there if he returns? Well, the Church would not punish him for obediently returning; were he deported (whcih is not a Church issue), would he not be incardinated in another diocese, assuming he would be obedient? Are we all saying the Church does not have that much mercy on the repentant? So then, why does he not return?
Couldn’t be that he’s a bit stiff-necked, like our Elder Brothers were accused of in the desert?
And the Church hasn’t sanctioned him officially for what he says. I’ll grant that, for the sake of the argument. So, that implies that he has not said anything sanctionable? Oh please!
And we wonder why our Protestant bretheren accuse us of idolatry. If some (I said some, not all) of the people who get so wound up about this topic spent half the time reading Scripture, that they spend on this topic of the consecration of Russia and the third secret, they just might be better off; and we with them.
