Father Maximilian Kolbe died in a concentration camp in order to save someone else’s life.

I guess that would have to be asked of people who have left, but I know I have heard many leave because of the changes of Vatican 2. I am sure there have been other changes that spurred leaving over the last 2,000 years.

I haven’t left, but changes to the catechism and the pact with China weigh heavily on me. The changes made at the Pontifical Academy for Life, changes for divorced and remarried, the way the pope causes confusion and never clarifies, and quite a bit more have been of greater concern for me than the sex scandals.

Like basically all the saints we know of today used to do, we need to celebrate the traditional mass. The Chrurch of God has since the second vatican been poisoned. It has been made less catholic and more protestant. You need to stay in the Chrurch of God no matter how the church is at the moment and celebrate the traditional latin mass. Do research and youll know what im talking about. Do what God whants you to do

?

No…

But if I ask why someone leaves, I can only respond to what is said.

Well, a lot of times they can’t actually say why because even the slightest criticism of the Magisterium and the Holy See results in posts being removed and suspensions handed down.

To put it into perspective, I served a three week suspension in September for posting this emoticon -----> 🤣 in response to someone’s mildly snarky post about the Holy Father. No words, just the emoticon. And it got me shelved for three weeks.

I think the point is that those of us in US who see a church calling itself “Anglican” cannot assume it is same as Episcopalian, because it may not be.

I understand that some people, perhaps many people, on this forum don’t like my “attitude” of thinking perhaps if God wills, church teaching may evolve. As far as I am concerned, I have worked out my “attitude” with the Lord and I don’t really care if others are bothered by it.
God bless.

The very fact that changes are often referred to as teachings evolving bothers some of us. On the one hand, we are told truth remains truth whether the year is 1218 or 2018, and on the other we are told that truth evolves over time. Realizing the “unchanging teachings of the Church” as the Sisters at school taught us have actually changed, and much of what we see, do and know as modern Catholics don’t reflect the early Church much at all has contributed to at least three people I know personally leaving. All three are now Orthodox.

Yes, I understand it bothers some people.
I’m not bothered by it myself.
If others are bothered, they’re free to pray over it or disagree here or whatever.

Thank you for acknowledging that this truly has happened and that it is a hard thing for many to accept. So many Catholics deny changes ever occur. It makes it very difficult to help bring about reconciliation because it discounts the reasons for them leaving or claims the other person is just making things up. Whether we agree with them leaving or the good or bad of changes happening doesn’t matter as much as acknowledgment of the difficulties many have with this.
