the one thing that this thread has shown is the facts are that the SDA movement is NOT in harmony with the apostles…it looks more like the SDA movement is more in harmony with the same jews who walked away from Christ in St. John’s rendering of the gospel…

A quick review. The Apostles:
- Ate meat.
- Practiced the Eucharist
- Believed in the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist.
- Met on Sunday, the Lord’s day.
- Used (OT) scripture, but relied on the Holy Spirit for all truth.
- Knew that Jesus was Divine, and not a creation (all Angels are created).
- Preached and strove to unite believers, not to divide them.
- Taught using the oral tradition
- Deferred to Cepha as chief among equals
- Taught that antichrists already preached false prophecy and heresy.
- Were not sola scriptura.
- Passed their Apostolic authority on via the laying on of hands.
- Had the power to bind and loose.
- Used that very power in assembling Christ’s Church.
- Wrote scripture rather than just reading it.
- Had the God-given authority to write scripture under the illumination of the Holy Spirit.
- Had power over sin.
- Healed and cast demons out.
- WERE the catholic Church, and did not preach hatred of it.
- Did not believe that Cepha was the antichrist. since he was appointed by Christ.
- Believed that Christ was Lord, even of the Sabbath.

Hello All:
I see we still have no statement from Protestant101 regarding how his faith IS in line with the Apostles.
It seems we’re having a contest on who knows the most about the SDAs, but Protestant101 is the least of the contributors.
What’s up with that? He hasn’t even explained the simplest of their doctrines such as not eating meat or wait…he hasn’t even told us who his founder is.

Matt. 12:33-36
"To have good fruit you must have a healthy tree; if you have a poor tree, you will have bad fruit. A tree is known by the kind of fruit it bears. You snakes–how can you say good things when you are evil? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. A good person brings good things out of a treasure of good things; a bad person brings bad things out of a treasure of bad things.
**You can be sure that on the Judgement Day you will have to give account of every useless word you have ever spoken. You words will be used to judge you–to declare you either innocent or guilty.
For these and many reasons I will not resort to name calling and insults of others faith.

Please explain how your church’s Heaven on Earth doctrine is in line the with teaching of the Apostles, and while you’re at it, just go ahead and explain the whole obliteration of evil with fire (no hell) thing as well.

Oh that’s right, I forgot about that one!
I guess that one just passed right over my head. But then he later denied he said it, that was a little curious.This guy has let us debate and even quarrel amongst ourselves, but we have yet to hold him to really answering our questions or giving an explaination as to why he cannot.
Also very curious, very curious indeed.
Marsha, methinks you may be just a little wrong about what SDAs know about their faith. Everyone on this thread seems to know more about his faith than he does.

I am not sure.Oh, they I know they don’t eat meat because White didn’t like it. So they don’t like it. 101 isn;t sure who his founder is, I don’t think they told him yet! (If they didn’t tell him he will say something stupid like Jesus.
It it was Jesus I would bet Jesus’ last name is Martinez or Gonzalas. It sure couldn’t be Jesus Christ, as we know He founded only one church! and that was 2,000 years ago, Can you be other than white to join the SDA, or is that the JW I am thinking about? I know their founding prophet was “white”
I think 101 may be busy resading upo on SDA so he can attempt to answer. Maybe not! Maybe he He isn’t able to find any answers that don’t seem dumb even to him.

I run into this kind of thing all the time. I know there are theologians and apologists that can denfend this faith, but the lay people do not seem to have nor pursue the knowledge to do so. It’s like what they’re “taught” is just brainwash they believe because they were told to. They didn’t actually “learn” anything.
I know there are inquisitive people like yourself that follow this faith, but you are the exception, not the rule. I believe that for the most part, the congregation is as I have known them most of my adult life, lead.

A curious thing has happened. Protestant101 has abandoned his own thread and instead is posting on yet another SDA related thread.
He has also removed the Miller quote from his signature. I’ve asked him why, but I probably won’t get an answer as I have realized he avoids the hard questions and just moves on to other threads when he cannot produce an answer or just doesn’t want to.

We can only hope and pray that, in His inimitable and inscrutable style, the Lord has been speaking to 101. Planting seeds of doubt in a heretical sect that achieves unity and cohesiveness through the teaching of anger toward the one true Church.
Perhaps he can see that, as the Apostles argued, quarreled, had egos and made mistakes, so too with the Church which was established upon them. For its members also have argued and made, in its 1,975 year history, some colossal mistakes in judgment. But not one bit of all this reflects on the truth that she teaches.
As much as he loves Christ, and his willingness to pray for us is evidence of that, he might just have a hunger for more. More truth. More history. More Sacraments. Christ in the flesh. Real food. Real drink. Lord, hear our prayer. Amen!
