It’s funny, your diatribe makes you sound just like a Seventh Day Adventist.

I walk anywhere, anytime for my Lord. A good friend of mine was being baptised in the Holy Trinity and I don’t see how I would be in danger in that moment. I also am part of a Celebrate Recovery program in that very church. The Lord is present in that church because His name is called on there. YOU are the one that had better be careful in your judgmental ways my friend. It is your soul that is in danger of damage, not mine. I act as a Chrstian in a Christian manner. Some of the things you say on this forum RobGhertner, are anything but Christian.

You are amongst a lot of folks, even atheists right here on this website so to say you don’t associate with them is foolish at least. Aren’t you afraid you’ll be converted through your computer??

All those who are baptized with water in the Holy Trinity are our brothers in Christ.

That steak sounds like something I’d give to Rover next door, but everything else sounds good. But don’t worry; I wouldn’t bring over any of those ugly “meat analogues” either. I would just have extra beans and garlic! Oh boy! The wife will run then, eh?

So don’t worry, all is well, NO offense has been taken!! :signofcross:
Where does it say you can’t eat meat in the 28 Fundementals? Oh wait, that’s an EGW thing. She had yet another health reform vision. I thought you said she wasn’t revered in your church but yet you even eat according to EGW’s instruction. :o

** Hi 101,

Yea, Happily doesn’t know much about SDA it seems. I don’t claim to have any SDA friends but even I know that most SDAs are vegetarians. He is a very nice guy, but not well informed.

Your false prophetest, Ellen G White, was a vegetarian so most SDAs follow her ways, although it isn’t required, yet! If that was your cult’s only peculiarity, besides your meeting on Saturday to worship, there would be very little to worry about. I don’t worry about protestants because they are still christians. They aren’t fully Christian but they can enter into heaven. Their souls are saved through Jesus’ sacrifice, just like all real christians.

I know that you teach that Sunday worship is the Mark of the Beast, and Sunday worshippers, you are taught, are Satan worshippers. Your cult condemns millions of christians to Hell unjustly! Would you deny this? How can you? As long as your cult keeps quoting Ellen G White, you will have this vulgar heresy stuffed right back down your throat. Ms White was a heretic, and she added things into the Scriptures. She founded the Seventh-day Adventist church, and as a member, you must vow to believe that she was a prophet! Correct?**
You are hateful.

You are hateful.
Happily:

RealCatholic isn’t being hateful, in fact RealCatholic didn’t tell the half of it. She skipped the part where SDAs teach that the Church is the whore of babylon and the pope is the anti-christ. If the Catholic Church disappeared in the night, the SDA denomination couldn’t even exist because their end-time beliefs are totally based on the evilness of the Catholic Church.

Please go to this link and look at the Marks of The True Church:

catholic-pages.com/church/marks.asp

This will explain why you are slightly off center in your position.

This also speaks to the OPosters question of the SDA church NOT being an Apostolic church and therefore being a Protestant church of the Christian faith, which makes them “protestant catholics”. They need to come into the fullness of the Church and be confirmed.

Peace.

Sweetie, I know what the SDA church teaches. I was married into a family of them for 10 years. But we cannot turn our backs on them and call them names and judge them. It’s not Christian.

Do you not see more evil in realcatholic’s statements than in Protestant101’s statements? Who is the violent one here?

It’s like killing those who have abortions. Where is the Holiness in that?

Thanks for posting this, happilycatholic:) This is how I was taught to understand the unity among the body of Christ. Our separated brothers and sisters are still, in a mysterious way, a part of the Catholic church, however partially in communion with Her. Christ is truth, and Christ is saving…Anyone who holds faithfully to the truth as God has revealed it in their lives are holding a piece of Christ, and are united in some small way to the Body of Christ. Would that be an accurate way to explain it? 🙂

I truly feel that no matter how stained or damaged, we must pull ALL those baptized in the Trinity closer to us and not push them away. We MUST love them in spite of their hate for us and not tell them they are separate from us. We are the Mother Church. We need to pull these folks in. Mary loved the very people who took her Son’s life because so did He.

How are we living in Christ if we turn our backs on people?

To get back on topic I’d like to turn the OP around and ask How IS the SDA church in harmony with the Apostles with the exception of baptism? Since most of what they follow is OT Law and not the New Covenant, how can their beliefs be reconciled with Christ’s teachings or the Apostles?

Heck, if they weren’t baptized they would be rebellious Jews instead of rebellious catholics. I mean that lovingly 😉

I hope to get the OPoster back on board cause he kind of flakes out when we ask him hard questions. :o

The SDA denomination (I wish you would quit referring to it as a church there is only one Church) is not in harmony with the Apostles on baptism. First because although they use the Trinitarian formula, they do not believe that Jesus and the Holy Spirit are equal with the Father. Second because they do not believe that Baptism does what the Church teaches that it does. They do not believe that the water actually cleanses or that the sacrament leaves an indelible mark upon the soul. They believe it is merely symbolic of what God’s grace does.

You must have a divine gift of knowing what is on the hearts of man. I think you are too hung up on words Marsha. A church is a church. Here is webster’s def. of a church:

1.) one of the groups of Christians who have their own beliefs and forms of worship.

That’s the SDA church even by your own definition.

Get over the semantics and stop being so dramatic.

Do you want to prove them right? You are one of their best examples of a catholic by their definition. You’ve talked about bringing about the inquisition and even admitted yourself that you are falling right into exactly what they define as “catholic”.

What are you doing? Prove them wrong. Be the OPPOSITE of what they define as catholic. Be what OUR CHURCH defines as catholic:

One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic. These are the marks of OUR CHURCH. You are either marked thereby or marked otherwise. There is no inbetween.

And please don’t attempt to scold me. I don’t like it. If you want to have a conversation, I will do so. But that’s the second time I’ve been seemingly repremanded on this thread for being Christian by those who claim to be Christian.

For goodness sake…Peace Be With You.

Oh and by the way, this statement is TOTALLY out of line with our Chruch. Our Church will not rebaptise them and why not? Because the Church believes they were baptized in the fullness of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

So if for no other reason, you’d better rethink that one on those grounds.

This is a misinformed and inadequately thought-out statement. First of all, the SDA church is not founded on end-times doctrine. Well not in the way you think. It is second to EGW’s gift of prophecy, which is what the church is founded on. They believe they alone are the Remnant church mentioned in Rev. and that it is manifested in EGW’s “gift of prophecy”. They also founded their church on the doctrine of keeping the Saturday Sabbath. So if there were no catholic Church, the SDA’s would simply change their doctrine as they have done and continue to do.

Here is one example. Doug Bachelor is an up and coming star in the SDA church. He, in my opinion, is going to eventually overshadow all of EGW’s outrageous “visions” and so-called prophecy. As you know, their doctine on Heaven was that it was to be on earth in the end. In other words there was no true Heaven in their doctrine. Doug Bachelor is now preaching this doctrine on his own church’s website:

The Bible says Jesus will come in glory to deliver His people and to restore all things. Loved ones who have rested asleep in their graves will be called back to life to join us in our new home in a perfect world — a world free from pain, suffering and death. We don’t know all the details about heaven, but we believe it is a very real place. A place where people from every generation, every culture, and every nation on earth will experience everlasting life, love and joy in fellowship with one another and with our wonderful Lord. (Acts 1:11; Revelation 1:7; I Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 21:3-4)

Notice how he still vaguely refers to “soul sleep”, but also says, “We don’t know all the details about Heaven…” That is in total discord with EGW’s teaching, not to mention the part where he vaguely refers to people of other denominations being in Heaven as well. And last but not least, see any mention of or referral to any second resurrection of the dead or investigative judgement? In fact there is absolutely no mention of EGW at all on his website. Maybe this means he will start his own SDA denomination. :hypno:

So, no if catholicism didn’t exsist it would not automatically mean the instant ruin of SDAs. It would just mean they’d branch off into other denominations and call themselves something else like the did after the Great Disappointment.

Who knows, maybe this is a good thing and they are truly evolving because of Christ’s promise to all Christians who live in the fullness of His Church.

Ultimately they are in His hands.

**Nice of you to say that! **

Jesus doesn’t know everyone who calls his name. You know that! 😦

YOU are the one that had better be careful in your judgmental ways my friend.

I** hope I didn’t appear as judgemental as you think. Not my intention at all. I was stating facts not judging. There is a real difference. Many SDA s are good God fearing people. It is their cult that is wrong. Not their hearts or love of Jesus.**

It is your soul that is in danger of damage, not mine.

Now who is judgemental? How arrogant is that? 🤷

I act as a Chrstian in a Christian manner. Some of the things you say on this forum RobGentner, are anything but Christian.

**So you say, that is your personal opinion, you are welcome to it. Wait! OK, I just wrote it on the “Opinions of people that really don’t Matter” list! You, JustAsking4, PeterJ and a few others are there. Just because I say something you don’t like doesn’t mean it is isn’t true. It is better to tell the truth then to say. “Oh, you will go to heaven, you know how to say Jesus’ name” **

You are amongst a lot of folks, even atheists right here on this website so to say you don’t associate with them is foolish at least. Aren’t you afraid you’ll be converted through your computer??

**There are a lot of good people here. Atheiests are the most ‘religious’ people here actually. Don’t you realize how much faith it takes NOT to believe in God? "I rather live my life as if there was a God and find out that I was wrong, then live my life like there wasn’t a God and find out I was wrong! " - unknown. **
I will not associate with anyone who condemns me to Hell for going to **Church on Sunday! **Sorry, That is their belief.

** Our Belief: **

** “But Sunday is the day on which we all hold our common assembly, because it is the first day on which God, having wrought a change in the darkness and matter, made the world; and Jesus Christ our Savior on the same day rose from the dead” – First Apology 67 [A.D. 155] **

"We keep the eighth day [Sunday] with joyfulness, the day also on which Jesus rose again from the dead"–Letter of Barnabas 15:6–8 [A.D. 74]

** As yuo know, In our church even non-christians are saved by our God through His church. I recommend that you kick the dust from your sandles, like the Bible says, as you leave their church the next time. Helping people get converted through the computer is why many of us are here. We can’t get converted: “No evil shall happen to the godly” Prov 12:21/ 1 Pet 3:13 👍 **** **

All those who are baptized with water in the Holy Trinity are our brothers in Christ.

**Of course! They are christians, as our church understand it, having received a “valid” bapitism. But they can also be following a false religion. That doesn’t make them practicing Christians. SDAs have their own deformed cultish beliefs. If you and I went off and followed some nut who said he was the returned Jesus. Would we still be saved? We were baptised! I think we would burn in hell for following false teachings and beliefs. That is why I attempt to help others. I wish everyone to obtain eternal life! We all deserve it.👍 **

**Be a real Christian, defend our faith from all attacks even from each other! ~ **

If any man come to me, and hate not his father and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. - Luke 14:26

Spread the truth:

"Think not that I come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword." – Matt 10:34 Christ’s mission was not peace.

**God Bless you and 101. I really think you are both good people. 👍 **

But, Noah Webster compiled the definition after the Protestant rebellion. For 1,500 years, it meant the one true church. Webster was a Protestant Calvinist and Congregationalist. (v1.acton.org/publicat/randl/liberal.php?id=269 ) He changed the spelling of many words in common American usage and was clearly oriented toward a multiplicity of denominations. I do not believe that we can rely upon his unique and inclusive definition of church as historically accurate. It is certainly not biblically accurate.

We as Americans, have a horribly skewed vision of Christianity, since our nation was founded and its traditions and teachings are almost completely Protestant. This has crept into and polluted Catholic thinking and teaching to a substantial extent.

All in all, Christ founded one true Church in union. Ecumenism must have its place, but not at the cost of truth. Catholics, having the fulness of revelation and truth, cannot compromise on these facts for the sake of expediency. IMHO.

**Thank you for the kind words. Everytime we say anything some people think we are spreading hate. Well I am sorry to tell Happily, I am not “Barney!” 🙂 **

**I actually fear for Happily, he mistakes fellowship for Faith! He is like a lamb in a den of wolves and doesn’t even realize it! He thinks I am hateful. I sincerely hate no one. I judge no one. I do “know my enemies” and watch their every movement! **

By the way, I am a male! 😃

God Bless you!

My brother, tell me exactly what part of this was “HATEFUL”?

"I know that you teach that Sunday worship is the Mark of the Beast, and Sunday worshippers, you are taught, are Satan worshippers. Correct?"

God Bless.
