I you missed the part where he mentions the sin of presuming to know his spouses Spiritual state.I pray that my husband says “Im going to church with you today”I have been praying for him for a very long time. Patience is a virtue right

Perhaps your prayer for his conversion to your personal interpretation of what salvation is should be more like Our Lord’s own.I pray that my husband says “Im going to church with you today”I have been praying for him for a very long time. Patience is a virtue right

Thats true. It would have been one think to say “let’s go to Church” as an invitation, but I said “WE NEED to go to church”. As soon as I said it, I felt it. My experience included a lesson in that my family is not mine, but the Lord’s. That, I’m just a caretaker. Probably why it stung so much. TimI you missed the part where he mentions the sin of presuming to know his spouses Spiritual state.
No this isn’t always the case at all. I became born again through prayer and through Gog forgiving me at 14 years old. I did not have any great flashes or any great out of the ordinary things happen to me. I said ‘the sinners prayer’ and I meant every word. The Holy Spirit was there and I was very aware of His presence. However, it was not a road to Damascus type thing. Most born again Christians I know, have had similar experiences to mine. A few have had road to Damascus type experiences but more haven’t.I know my own testimony and most of my friends have had those type of experiences. And we give testimony. Ask a born again Christian his testimony and you will probably hear a Damascus road type account. God still works this way every day.
Im sorry Im not understanding youI you missed the part where he mentions the sin of presuming to know his spouses Spiritual state.
And some of us have no recollection of not having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I am grateful that I was born into a good faithful Catholic home which always reflected the light of Christ and took me to Mass so I knew Him always near. Even during my wandering years of college, I knew He was close even though I didn’t always live like it.I know my own testimony and most of my friends have had those type of experiences. And we give testimony. Ask a born again Christian his testimony and you will probably hear a Damascus road type account. God still works this way every day.
I have no doubt either.[SIGN]Any Catholics here have any doubt whatever that you are born again?[/SIGN]

Hi,Perhaps your prayer for his conversion to your personal interpretation of what salvation is should be more like Our Lord’s own.
“Saying: Father, … but yet not my will, but thine be done.”
If you believe that Catholicism is not Christian, then you have a mistaken belief. Try encouraging your husband in his Catholic faith and see what happens. Aren’t you supposed to be in submission to him as spiritual head of your household?
Well— it depends what you mean by catholicIs ALLFORHIM’s husband a Catholic?
I had mine as an adult who had been away from the Church for 5 years and not practicing any religion. After reading the Bible, I repented of my sin first to God directly and then to my priest in confession. Since then, I have been active in my church (Bible study, meals for the poor, and I even joined the evangelization committee). We call it a “conversion experience” or illumination of conscience-it’s a question of semantics- born again is only a term:blush:
Hi,
I know you mean well, but I could not, in good conscious encourage him in catholocism because I would be lying, as you know I do not agree with it.
Yes I should be in submission to him. However, God has put him in my spiritual care right now and I do believe God is working on him through my actions.(I do see signs of hope
)
Since I am submitting to God’s will, I have to believe that I am doing exactly what God wants me to be doing and that is leading my husband to the truth of salvation through my NONSPEAKING actions:thumbsup:
OH btw–the salvation message I believe is not a belief I take lightly but very seriously. I do happen to believe the bible is very clear on the salvation message and honestly when I read it through the eyes of the Holy Spirit–it was crystal clear. I didnt need any intrepretation.
Whereas I do believe there are areas of the bible that are difficult to understand–this is not one of them.![]()
TOP did. He said he commited the sin of presuming to know his spouses spirtiual state. You have claimed in no uncertain terms that your husband is not saved. Do you see the link now?Im sorry Im not understanding youWho says that?
Nope. Born again and in full communion with Christ’s Church, with the full complement of sacraments to boot![SIGN]Any Catholics here have any doubt whatever that you are born again?[/SIGN]
I have no doubt!
Which pretty much sums up the fatal flaw of Protestanism.OH btw–the salvation message I believe is not a belief I take lightly but very seriously.
