The “random postings” are enough to get people looking at Twitter. Surely you understand Grace cannot copy and paste all of Twitter to CAF?

In other words:I saw a few random postings! And this is proof??? In a court of law it would be tossed like a rag doll.
Earlier in the thread, you cited three or four links that stated that antisemitism is on the rise. Now give us some links that state that “Catholic” antisemitism is on the rise. Sorry, random posts on Twitter don’t prove much, if anything. You understand what “for starters” means? Listen, you don’t have to agree with me that antisemitic Catholics exist on Twitter and other platforms. But as I’ve provided evidence that they do, your protests again this entire thread are weird.
Excellent advice. I wonder if we should engage them in any way? Disprove their crackpot theories, for example? How to confront (term used in the thread title) extremists on Twitter or on other internet platforms? On forums like this flag them. On Facebook report them. I don’t use Twitter but maybe there’s a way to report them there. Other than that there’s not much we can do.
We’re not on a Jewish forum. We’re on a Catholic forum, in the social justice section. This site exists for the express purpose of talking about topics related to social justice and especially within Catholicism.Per this logic, this thread and OP is evidence of anti-Catholic bigotry
If anyone started a thread accusing Jews of anti-Catholicism and cited “I saw some tweets” as evidence it would be rightfully shut down in 2 seconds as anti Semitic
Yet this thread stands which bashes Catholics as bigots with zero evidence
@camoderator can you please shut down this filth?
Nope that was not your claimantisemitic Catholics exist on Twitter
You even said you were being “frank”!!I’ve become aware of how prevalent antisemitism is among some Catholics on platforms like Twitter. To be frank, it’s horrifying.
Again:gracepoole:

Please stop mischaracterizing my comments. You really haven’t been paying attention to the contents of this thread. I said there are antisemitic Catholics, antisemitism is on the rise globally, and as Catholics we must confront and denounce it.
…abandoned the ever-living Gods for the corpse of the Jew.
Right, so of course anti-Catholic bigotry should be legit. Thx for thatWe’re not on a Jewish forum. We’re on a Catholic forum,
And again:gracepoole:

Let’s review
You even said you were being “frank”!!I’ve become aware of how prevalent antisemitism is among some Catholics on platforms like Twitter. To be frank, it’s horrifying.
Maybe you erred in that initial post and want to go back and fix it as well as title? Or just leave the anti-Catholic bigotry claims there with zero evidence
And my goal in doing all of this is…?
** raises hand ** I’m Catholic.TK421:

Nobody here has shown anti-Catholic bigotry that I can see. Addressing an unhappy trend within the Church isn’t bigotry. If a person won’t even diagnosis a problem then that really leaves zero hope for doing something about it.Right, so of course anti-Catholic bigotry should be legit. Thx for that
As you just said, please stop mischaracterizing my comments. And as meltzerboy2 says; there is antisemitism among Protestants, Muslims, Blacks, and other groups, including Jews themselves. In other words:
“I don’t believe that antisemitic Catholics exist.”
** shows evidence **
“I don’t believe that antisemitic Catholics exist.”
Yes, that’s an excellent point. I think we really ought to keep in mind that social media - like much of the internet - tends to attract particularly extreme and obnoxious voices that would not have an audience in any other venue. As with any extremists they mostly have their minds made up and there is little anyone can say that will convince them otherwise. A lot of them are looking to argue so confronting them just feeds into that.
This makes sense. I dislike censoring voices because, well, I’m American. And I’m an educator so I believe in talking about ideas. But as evidenced by the examples I shared earlier, I think these folks are so entrenched in bigotry that they can’t listen to reason. As with any extremists they mostly have their minds made up and there is little anyone can say that will convince them otherwise. A lot of them are looking to argue so confronting them just feeds into that.
Precisely!!! That’s all I’ve been trying to get out of her. And she continues to deflect. Instead I get this; “I don’t believe that antisemitic Catholics exist.”So increasing Catholic anti-Semitism is not documented?
I am not trying to be argumentative, I am greatly concerned about the general increase in anti-Semitism, but I want to know how/where it appears in the Church. Without that information, it’s hard to answer the question posed as the purpose of this thread.
