Purgatory involves both purification and expiation. I don’t see why anyone would want to sin considering it would mean you are separated from God and the have to suffer in purgatory.
I mean, by all means. If you really don’t care, go sin venially if you think it’s worth it. I believe God’s commandments are what’s objectively best for us.

 I guess. I have to admit I haven’t thought through the full implications of how punishment fits into purgatory. I was just a Protestant last year, you know. It is still odd for me to think of those who are saved as being punished.
