This explanation requires fewer unprovable assertions.Do you have any evidence for this? Or is this speculation sufficient proof for you?

I just note that anything with humans in it has errors. Like this post here. I hafe barely had one beer (and a shot), and already I feel like distracting you from this serious stuff. The priests who act in that way, yes. Not the majority of the priests and other Catholics. I am in no way defending the preists who acted in horrible ways. I am merely pointing out that we are all human and that these few do not represent the majority of us. And the collection plate is only to keep the church functioning. Besides most of the extra $ goes to help the poor and needy. Catholics are among the best if not *the * best in terms of almsgiving. I know, I work for a Church. This is not to say some Parishs’ misuse their funds. They too are acting in an inappropriate and sinful way. But you can’t generalize these actions to all Catholics, or even the majority. You shouldn’t trust a priest who is not acting in a holy manner just as you shouldn’t trust an athiest acting in a immoral fashion.
A, your basic question was: “Why doesn’t God heal amputees? Does He hate them?”It counts as a story, but no more.
There are many contemperary stories of miraculous healers. There is no well-documented case of an amputee being healed (meaning having his missing limb replaced).
I guess to point out how the contemperary miracle healings are invariably from other ailments.A, your basic question was: “Why doesn’t God heal amputees? Does He hate them?”
Since you have made it abundantly clear that you don’t believe in God, what you were really asking for was a story of when the Christian God healed an amputee. So people gave you stories. What more do you want?
corruption is everywhere, why focus only on the church? Just because the people are fallible, doesn’t make the teachings fallible… I’m speaking here obviously of the Pope and only in terms of faith and morals. It was asked of me why I distrust the church so much, so I pointed out the corruption that is so obvious that everyone knows it. I also asked why anyone would expect better than this (clearly fallible) in the higher echelons.
And for purposes of this discussion every account that might be presented of amputees that were healed would also be discounted by you as “just another story.”It counts as a story, but no more.

Not from my vantage point. This explanation requires fewer unprovable assertions.
I don’t believe anyone ever said that people who belong to the Church always act in accordance with the Church. But the ones who rape children are proof enough that they don’t always act 'in accordance with church teaching.
At least I hope so, and that was the point I was trying to make. They can’t be trusted because there is no way for the lay person to tell if they are doing their job, or doing something against their ‘mission statement’ (sorry if I am using the wrong term here)
A typical atheist response to any hard situation. I will merely drink it away. How do you feel after that a little bit tipsy? When you wake up in the morning and realize that your entire life has been a joke and that you have lived for false senses of pleasure and indulgence that really have nothing behind them. Then you continue to live your life with nothing, just mediocrity. You waste away trying to have a good time. Years pass you are looking towards the end and what have you accomplished? Nothing. As the light begins to fade and the gates of hell open up you realize that you should have made better use of your time on earth.Natural Selection in reverse has caused me a funny. A shelf full of liquor and nothing to drink. (if I am being fussy - and I am)
I have a little beer, which saves me, but nothing on the booze shelf is worth drinking. I attribute it to Natural Selection. Over the years, I have tried many types of alcohol (as you can see) and the ones which are not successful (not enjoyed by my sweetheart, myself or our few regular guests) are left on the shelf. All the yummiest boozes get drank, and because no=one drinks the others, they fill the shelf and trick me into thinking I have drinks.
By the way, my favorites which are missing are tanqueray gin, lemon hart rum. Anyone have any to share?
Help yourself to a drink!

I think this was just a friendly type thing. I mean it is Friday night afterall and we’re still here typing away. I’m no drunk, but it’s kind of nice having a drink with “friends” online… This is my first time doing that. I find it quite fun seeing as how I’m living in a new place and have no one to hang out with just yet. so I’m just going to enjoy this drink with “friends”.A typical atheist response to any hard situation. Good evening “A”The bible places the age of the earth at around 6000 years. Modern scientific evidence shows that this figure is wrong by several orders of magnitude.
There is one glaring example of the bible being incorrect. How many do you need?
