OH PLEASE, If you are a Doctor or indeed and fellow medical student, or maybe even a nurse of some sort I would listen to you, but the studies you are talking about I have researched with some of the best professors at my disposal, and yet every single one of them I (we) have managed to find fault in.
Did you read post #115. The researchers admitted the research was wrong.

You cannot expect the core teachings of the Holy Mother Church to change simply because you are not comfortable with them, just as I could not expect to be able to receive the Sacraments and continue my sinful lifestyle. There is a spiritual axiom of obedience that allows for my dependence upon God and the teachings of the Holy Mother Church to create independence for me. However, I had to give up sin in order to fully participate as a member of the Body of Christ.

Whether homosexuality is a lifestyle choice, a genetic abnormality, a genetic normality found in only a few members of a species, a deep disorder or a political choice is really not as important as my selfish demand that the Church let me do whatever I want and be completelty accepted, sin and all.

The choices a single, heterosexual woman who grew up in the 1960’s and 1970’s were just as difficult to make. For years I ran around demanding that ‘my choices be respected’ without ever being willing to look at those choices in the light of my eternal soul. I understand now that much of that was because of my age and because it was easier to just go along with what the world teaches to be ‘normal’. It takes great strength to go against the teachings of the world, and quite frankly - of myself and by myself - I did not have the power to do that; today I do.

You asked if you would still be a Catholic if you practiced homosexuality. The answer is yes. Would you be a Catholic in a state of grace? No. Would God love you? Of course. Do we? We should - and because I know that love is a decision, I have decided to love you and pray for you.

At 18 it is pre med in America.
That’s what I was saying. If he’s in pre-med at 18 and receiving acceptance from the highest med schools in the country already, that’s quite a feat.

How do we know he is American though? :hmmm:

It is not pre med in England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland…

Follow the many and forget the few? Im not stating that the world is against me, I merely stated how I feel. Just a thought, so when the black people were enslaved and the large population of the world thought it was ok, or interracial mixing when both black and white people thought it would be a bad thing, was it? Just a comparison in a sense, not comparing black people’s struggles to homosexuality in anyway perish the thought. However just think.
Are you comparing the Catholic Church today regarding homosexuality to slave owners? I resent that!

Seriously though…

I didn’t say majority rules, I was making a simple point that if the whole world is against something and you’re for it, maybe its not the whole world that’s wrong.

Let me ask you this. Homosexaulity has existed for thousands and thousands of years. There were even civilizations in antiquity that were *far *more tolerant of it than we are today and yet they *never *considered the possibility of homosexuals marrying. Why is it, that over the course of 2000 years, homosexual marriage was not even considered?

What studies am I talking about? Can you please provide specific source citation of these studies (calling your bluff you know ;))? Can you please describe the process and purpose of peer review in accepting or rejecting scientic findings and conclusions (that you convienently purport to have extensively indulged in with astute professors)?

I await your qualifying response.

The entire concept of marriage has changed. People did not “marry” as we even understand it. The main aim of marriage was to create life - to, in many cases keep the tribe alive - thus you were in effect assigned a “breeding” partner, there was no need for marriage between homosexuals, as marriage was not made out of love then. Homosexuality in many cases was not frowned upon, and people could engage in such acts freely, as marriage was merely for the intention of having children.

“I have applied to the best medical schools in the country, and been accepted to all of them.” Meaning what is said. As to clear things up, I am nearly 19, I took a gap year to aid several professors at Cambridge university (United Kingdom) < (for those who get confused) thus, medical knowledge obtained in to the subject I was studying I will give everybody two guesses on what it was…

Hehe 😃 😛

Poor Equinox - I do not think your grammar is that bad - in fact I hardly even see any problems 🙂
I am the first to admit my grammar is bad. However I am not perfect like you.

Equinox, if your gay then your gay but God still loves you just like he loves all sinners, me included. So what!!! If you were Baptised a Catholic then you are a Catholic and will be until the day you die. If you don’t like your religion or the parish you are attending then LEAVE. But stop this nonsence!!! Obviously, you really don’t care what anybody is telling you so I think you already made your choice.

I also wait for you to tell me what your profession is, and then I will decide whether to answer you questions.

Yes, thankfully there are no “Chemistry” or “Maths” threads here, I would seem significantly less intelligent then 😛 🙂

Besides that, your grammar isn’t bad, trust me 👍

This is not the most charitable way to dialogue with equinox. I have hope that being as smart as he is he is genuinely interested in the truth. Many will test their perceptions here and see if they will hold up. That is exactly the dialogue we want. True Christain charity demands fraternal correction…

Just as I suspected – a bluff.

BTW – If you understand the game of pocker, when a fellow player calls your bluff with a raise to the pot (disussion), you cannot answer his raise with another bluff without first matching then raising the pot. IOW – you just folded your cards.

Their exists a false illusion that only valid postings can be made by those who are professionals or degreed in that field. I beg to differ. Formal education is only one part of ones education.

So, you and your “associates” have disproved every study that reaches a conclusion that differs from yours. How convenient. You have certainly amassed quite a research portfolio at such a young age. :hmmm:

Apparently anyone who disagrees with you is either stupid, misguided, or both. You can find fault in everyone’s reasoning but nobody is permitted to find fault with yours? :hmmm:

You asked questions about squaring the Catholic faith with your personal beliefs about homosexual behavior and then you totally discounted all the answers as being biased because they represented Catholic opinion. :hmmm:

edited for charity

Indeed I have no idea what you were going on about I thought you were referring to the peer review part two, however that has no information about homosexually Essays of an Information Scientist, Vol:9, p.239, 1986 Current Contents, #32, p.3-12, August 11, 1986. That is why I want to know what you do for a living, I have no idea what you are trying to prove by the way.
