Barilla pasta is not sold in Scranton, I believe. But I admire his tenacity in not allowing the Gay Mafia to shove its agenda down his throat.

It’s the company’s right to choose how they want themselves represented in their advertising. And it’s the consumer’s right to choose who they’ll give their money to.

No problem.

I read about on another board I frequent, where they are all up in arms whining and calling to put them out of business.

This is good news.

Remember, for every box the people boycotting do not buy, you should buy three:

1 for yourself.
1 for the box they didn’t buy.
And 1 so Barilla is getting an extra sale, thus nullifying their boycott.

Problem boycotters? 😉

Good for them! Glad to see they aren’t afraid to stand up for what is right and not be pushed around by “the agenda”. I like Barilla products, and like many of you we will be buying more of it. 👍

I followed the advice of the Starbucks CEO …since I didn’t agree with SSM, I followed his wishes and purchase coffee elsewhere. Not going to impact their sales really, but at least I’m not supporting it.

I find it ironic that these people in favor of SSM support the Starbucks thing but not Barilla or CFA stance …its the same thing. Standing up for what you believe it.

Bottom line, its not about “tolerance” and “acceptance” of persons, its more about pushing you to agree with their choice of sinful lifestyle. That’s the one thing they can not do and it makes them mad. It can be put in my face, but I will NOT agree with it …ever! 🙂
I never went to starbucks anyway, their coffee is way overpriced and not that great. I also quit going to chipotle when they stopped supporting the Boy Scouts. The liberals talk how this is about “tolerance”, well, if they are so “tolerant”, then how come they can’t tolerate those who stand up for what they believe is right? I have heard that a bakery in Oregon, who refused to make a cake for a ssm, was receiving death threats , and eventually closed. Sounds like they only accept those who agree with them, and if you don’t, you hate them. I refuse to give in to a sinful lifestyle, no matter how much the liberals tell me that if I don’t, I’m a bigot. I hope more companies and corporations stand up for the true definition of marriage and family, so that I can support them as well.

a same sex couple in good Luck charlie??? that is one of my daughter’s favorite shows (dog with a blog too) and my thoughts were the same as yours, I had no idea about this and I am in shock. I am going to send an e-mail too to Disney Channel. One question did you use the e-mails from Disney Channel’s website? Or to the producers of the show? I think it would be great if I can send them to the same person you did so they can see there is several people unhappy about this. I think it is very important for US to stand up and start taking this measures (complaining and sending emails) so our voice can be heard. Amy other parent reading this thread please send letters of emails to the Disney channel too.
I wrote one email and sent it to all of these contacts:

This is an excellent idea, and I will be doing this as well to counter the boycott. You should post this on news sites so everyone doing the boycott will be aware of it. Thanks again barilla pasta!!!

Looks like I’ll be having some delicious Barilla pasta for dinner tonight. 👍

God bless Barilla.

Other than its traditional values, which I admire, it is also a darn good pasta.

An Italian is writing this, so take my word for it.

Go buy Barilla!!!

Thank you, be sure I am sending one to them and I am having my sisters in law sending ones too!!!

Barilla is my pasta of choice, best out there ! The remarks were well put, with much kindness. Cannot believe anyone took offense.

I, too, will buy more and donate.

This is a mindset that I quite frankly don’t understand, either. Although I am not married, and I make a good living for myself, I have no issue with women who are in what would be considered a more traditional role. It seems that those on the progressive/liberal side of things only support women having “choices” when the chosen path is one with which they agree!

As for Barilla pasta, I don’t eat a lot of carbs, but I might pick up a few boxes anyway (I’m sure someone can put them to good use). I don’t know if this is a good business decision on Barilla’s part, but I think they have a right to market their brand in the way that see fit and fits with their sense of morality…
If you don’t eat pasta, then donate it to a food bank. Then you will be helping two causes for Christianity.
👍

Go on any major site talking about this, and there are a lot of intolerant people saying they will boycott Barilla. He is not saying he hates gays at all! All he is saying is that he prefers traditional families. I am shocked by all the intolerant comments online, saying they are full of hate. We need to pray for both Barilla and the people who say they will boycott. Has anyone seen any support Barilla pages yet?

It’s hard to say what I would do in the case of a similar boycott of a product that wasn’t very good.

Thankfully, in the case of Barilla, it doesn’t arise. 😃 😃 😃

Spaghetti tonight!

Actually, he has said he supports same-sex “marriage” but he simply does not want to include same-sex couples in his advertising.

This boycott is wrong-headed because the people organizing it are a) shooting themselves in the foot by trying to hurt one of their “supporters” and b) they have twisted his words to make a statement and now Barilla gets all the free advertising.

It’s no longer enough to be “tolerant” or “accepting” or even a “supporter” - if you aren’t shoving the idea of “gay al the time” down our throats, you must be the enemy.

Actually, you can contact a number of Disney executives by going to this link:

thewaltdisneycompany.com/about-disney/leadership/management

I would start with the Chairman of the Board and the President (CEO).

Have people in your parish sign a petition to stop Disney from using SSC in any of their shows and/or advertising, and mail it to the President and Chairman. Start a petition in your neighborhoods and schools. Hopefully, Disney will get the message.

Legally, in the United States, they cannot discriminate against people for employment just because they are gay, but they can choose who they allow on their shows and in their advertisements.

Just think how much difference it would make to Disney executives if people from all over the world were taking this stance! I think they would listen and act appropriately. The bottom line ($$$) is what they are primarily concerned with. If people stop watching their shows, going to Disney World, and buying their products, it will really hit them hard!

I would, but I simply don’t have enough time to. I figure I’ll let the idea spread by word of mouth, seems to be the most effective. 🙂 Already you and another person in this topic liked the idea, and even expanded on it! 😃

Now that’s a great idea! 👍
