I genuinely don’t think they really want to.This is precisely why i started this thread. The only reason they say they are pro life is so they can get votes. Short of a civil war they are not going to stop Abortion.
How would you have expected President Bush and the Congress to ban abortion? It’s not obvious hate, and there was something specific:
Republicans had the US presidency AND both houses of congress for four years and did not ban abortion. If that’s one of the party goals, what else could they have possibly been waiting for? Seriously, I’m all-ears (or eyes, as it were).
No. We need a Constitutional Amendment to ban abortion. In the meantime, Republicans can slow or limit abortion, which they do all the time. This is precisely why i started this thread. A Catholic can never support any Democratic candidate that supports Abortion, Homosexuality, Euthanasia, or any other mortal sin. The murder of babies is not something that is just “one of the things” you can dislike about the party. You cannot still “vote the whole plank, not just one or two talking points” The Democratic Party treats Abortion and Homosexual “Marriage” as their sacraments. The Democratic Party seeks to remove all references to God, including nativities, crosses, and ten commandments monuments. They support Euthanasia. Everything they stand for is evil and in direct opposition to the Church. No matter how controversial this may be to the Catholic Democratic voting bloc, a Catholic cannot support Democrats like Obama, Clinton, or virtually any and all of their candidates. This does not mean they have to vote Republican, but it would be immoral to vote for pro abortion Democrats. A vote for them is a vote to enable all those evils I mentioned and anybody that votes for them is responsible for those evils. I would say mass murder of babies isn’t something to be dismissed as a “talking point.”It’s not obvious hate, and there was something specific:

And, frankly, the reply was very specific to the OP of the thread.
Which is tragic. It’s one of the things I dislike about my party.
But I vote the whole plank, not just one or two talking points. I’m just disgusted less by the democrat plank on-the-whole, ergo they often (not always, I was a McCain man in 07) get my vote.
But that’s happening regardless of who you vote for, so why is voting for democrats a sin?…would say mass murder of babies isn’t something to be dismissed as a “talking point.”
Voting for a certain party is to promote, defend and glorify it.But that’s happening regardless of who you vote for, so why is voting for democrats a sin?
Well actually no it isn’t. If i voted for democrats it would be for reasons that have nothing to do with promoting abortion.Voting for a certain party is to promote, defend and glorify it.
Voting for the other party is to try to stop it.
Well, as i have said, voting for the other side does not ban abortion. Is trump going to stop abortion? Are you kidding me? There a clearly limitations involved that have nothing to do with who you vote for.Guess which is which?
Regardless of why you vote that way, you are in fact promoting. Can you in any way claim that your party will not do all in their power to further entrench and promote abortion on demand?Well actually no it isn’t. If i voted for democrats it would be for reasons that have nothing to do with promoting abortion.

If its legal to have an abortion, then abortions are going to happen. It certainly isn’t silly to point out that trump being president isn’t going to stop abortion since it points out the futility of relying on the presidency to ban abortion. If i cannot ban abortion that way, then i fail to see the reason why i would not vote for democrats or why it would be immoral.Regardless of why you vote that way, you are in fact promoting. As I am sure you are aware, but for some reason refuse to see it, the judges that Trump appoint will go a long way towards protecting those innocent lives. Your statement that anyone indicated Trump was going to stop abortions is simply silly. Although some of the policies he set in place will stop some.
Will a democrat president appoint only pro abortion judges? Without any doubt at all.If its legal to have an abortion, then abortions are going to happen. Did President Nixon appoint only pro life judges?.Will a democrat president appoint only pro abortion judges? Without any doubt at all.
Will Trump appoint only pro life judges?
But I think you already knew this.
Lets say the president appointed only pro-life judges, Does that mean that those judges are going to rule against a women’s choice to take a pregnancy to full term or not. Will there be a ban if they are all pro-life?Will a democrat president appoint only pro abortion judges? Without any doubt at all.

Very telling that you call it a women’s choice instead of what it is…the intentional killing of the most innocent of human beings.Lets say the president appointed only pro-life judges, Does that mean that those judges are going to rule against a women’s choice to take a pregnancy to full term or not. Will there be a ban if they are all pro-life?
Something tells me its not going to work out the way you think.
Nixon wasn’t a Conservative. He was a moderate. Back in the 1970s, the libertarians and moderates had control of the Republican Party. Today, the Conservatives and Religious Right control the party, though the Libertarians are starting to flex muscle again.Did President Nixon appoint only pro life judges?.
That number is much higher than I’d expect (though I’d be happy if it were true). Where did you get this number from?Great question. I have always believed that asides from the abortion issue (which is paramount), the dems align much better to Catholicism than Republicans. That’s why the growing ‘Democrats for Life’ movement is so encouraging, hopeful. Today, 1 in 3 Dems is pro-life… and growing
It is very easy for a person to say “I am pro life” Almost all Catholic Democrats have changed what pro-life actually means to ease their conscience for their part in advancing the pro death agenda. I don’t think I have ever heard even 1 Catholic democrat call abortion what it is, the intentional killing of the most innocent of human lives. That number is much higher than I’d expect (though I’d be happy if it were true).
