That, of course, would be a tragedy… as we do not need more priests in irregular situation that exercise no legitimate ministry in the Church
I wouldn’t have a problem with preludes and postludes as long as they were just instrumental and not vocal. That would still allow prayer. So I would establish once and for all that musical preludes and postludes ARE appropriate and welcome in the OF, and tell everyone that if they want silence, to come early before the prelude is played, and to stay late after the postlude is played.
Yes, I believe I have seen that to be the case also.In my church there is less talking before mass when there is a prelude.
Dear friend, our Catechism teaches contrary to your 1st point:Just because there were more priests and nuns when Latin Mass was the only Mass- doesn’t mean that was the cause for it. Correlation doesn’t necessarily mean causation- the world is a lot different now than it was in the mid 1960’s in many different ways- not just the language Mass is said.
Frequent reception of Sacraments has actually increased since the 1960’s. In 2018, virtually every one in attendance at Mass receives communion. That was definitely not the case, not even close in the mid 60’s.
Really?Holding hands during the Our Father came from Protestant Charismatic heretics. It infiltrated the Church via Charismatic Catholics. It isn’t Vatican approved. It’s liturgical abuse.
And now communion takes a full hour or more, because 90% of the congregation takes communion and it’s under both species. The immediate removal of the “Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion”; they serve to do nothing except diminish the already dwindling belief in the Real Presence.
Ending communion in the hand.
How would you suggest that the church employ these groups of volunteers instead? A lot of them would be lost without a function. Further, a lot of EMHC’s got their start as altar servers, moving on up to be readers before moving to the EMHC role. It would be really disrupting just to tell them to stand downThe immediate removal of the “Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion”; they serve to do nothing
The following will help with this problem:Galatians6-17:![]()

The Church doesn’t owe these people a “job”. The Mass is not about them. They make themselves available if there is a need. If they feel in any way entitled to their position, that’s the wrong mentality.Galatians6-17:![]()

A lot of people have really only received communion in the hand, this kind of procedure would confusing or even disturbing to many, many Catholics.Ending communion in the hand.
But it didn’t. We still have the Senate, three branches of government, and “E Pluribus Unum” written to remind us.First it Killed the Romans,
