I was having trouble following your line of thought a few posts back, now I’m totally baffled. Could you dumb in down for me a bit? Are you saying that your lost keys analogy was silly?
The object of the analogy was that onces you found the keys you rested from the search.

Once you find Jesus as your Savior you find your rest.
It doesn’t mean for you to quit working.
Now, instead of looking for your lost keys, look to find those that are lost without God so they can find their rest in Him.

I am OBVIOUSLY having a heck of a time figuring out this quoting thing! arrrrrgh! I try using that cartoon balloon looking thing, but I just can’t get it right. I must be duuuuumb!

Do you agree that Paul writes to believers but preaches about avoiding sin?

Everything you understand is good except when you come to this statement: I agree and there are consequences if you and I die before we had a chance to cooperate with His grace.

There is no chance of you not making it, because it is a gift given to you without your (name removed by moderator)ut.
Now what you do with it will either bless you or curse you.

Curse you not as a loss of your gift (salvation) but loss of your peace with God,
Dissatisfaction, depression, worries, troubles of all kinds, just a living hell.
but even if it were that way anyways, God in us if we keep Him close to our hearts will in this hellish place give us His peace, contentment and the joy of our salvation.

Yes!

Lusts of the flesh is what is sin, and the more we try to give it the least amount of attention, the more godliness will be in us.

This formula holds true: Joh 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

We must also be careful that we don’t think ourselves so holy that we are no earthly good. (Pride)

This theology so very much contradicts Scripture. I gave you earlier a short list of passages that does just that. You addressed two of them and did not show how they cooperate with the OSAS doctrine. Hell is real my friend. Even for those who have “accepted Jesus Christ into their hearts as their personal Lord and Savior.” This OSAS concept is so dangerous. Your sole is at stake here. The dissatisfaction, depression worries, troubles, pains, etc. that you are referring to are instances where we can take up our cross daily as Jesus instructed and offer it to Him as redemptive suffering in reparations for our own sin that we may be with Him in Heaven.

Why would Paul preach to believers about voiding sin if there salvation was guaranteed? Do you really think we would risk his LIFE telling them to avoid sin because they will endure hardship here on Earth only but in the end they will definitely go to Heaven?

My view is based on the whole bible. The Old testament is vital to understanding the new.

It establishes the fall, while the new gives us the uplifting.

Jesus left us with salvation, and His Apostles went about to explain it.
Paul became an Apostle to the Gentiles, and went about to establish some guidelines.
We must contrast them with the bible as a whole and learn as we go.
You understand that there are different levels of understanding?
The deeper one goes into the word, the more we are given to understand, but with that; responsibility is also greater.

Been saved and knowing it has only one privilege over one who doesn’t know, and that is that we can go in and out of the kingdom without penalty, where as those that don’t can not even enter in, therefore their penalty remains.

If you can put your salvation aside as a done deal, then you can go about practicing all the good works you want.

Of course, you guard yourself from sinning willfully, but grace is greater.

Study the book of Romans since that is the book that better relates to us, that is if a Gentile.

So, you are saying that Paul is saying not to sin because it will bring suffering to you while on Earth and that is it. The reason you try to avoid sin sounds very selfish to me. You are only avoiding sin as to not bring pain, suffering and discomfort on to you. Not because it offends God.

Why would Paul preach to believers about voiding sin if there salvation was guaranteed? Do you really think we would risk his LIFE telling them to avoid sin because they will endure hardship here on Earth only but in the end they will definitely go to Heaven?
No, people only knew what was available to them via the law of Moses, or whatever thoughts they had of a god.
Those things needed to get addressed against that which Christ came to do in order to introduce this so great a salvation given to us as a gift.

Because the gift is free the following verses apply:

Rom 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
Rom 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
If you know you are saved, why cause God to exert more grace to cover your sins, when if you love God, you try not to sin.

The law demanded adherence, while grace desires your love.

Unfortunately for you, interpreting it yourself and being your own pope.>>>Lampo
Rev 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

What do you mean, “Paul wasn’t?”

Lampo said:
1 Cor. 9:27 - “No, I drive my body and train it, for fear that, after having preached to others, I myself should be disqualified.”

Disqualified from what?

Yes, we are all called to this royal priesthood. The Catholic Church agrees.
CCC 786 - The sign of the cross makes kings of all those reborn in Christ and the anointing of the Holy Spirit consecrates them as priests, so that, apart from the particular service of our ministry, all spiritual and rational Christians are recognized as members of this royal race and sharers in Christ’s priestly office. What, indeed, is as royal for a soul as to govern the body in obedience to God? And what is as priestly as to dedicate a pure conscience to the Lord and to offer the spotless offerings of devotion on the altar of the heart?

Sounds good. These will be your fallible interpretations, correct?

What do you mean, “Paul wasn’t?”

Disqualified from what?
SIDEBAR!!!: - Would you please show me how you did those quotes? How you separated out my quotes and then added your responses? Thanks a billion!

Paul wasn’t sure of his salvation. Hence, 1 Cor. 9:27

Disqualified from Heaven.
