How come every passage in the N.T. that talks about judgment says we will be judged by our works, not by whether or not we have faith alone? We see this in Rom 2, Matthew 15 and 16, 1 Ptr 1, Rev 20 and 22, 2 Cor 5, and many, many more verses.>>>Lampo
The difference is this, works of God and works of mankind.
Works of God as per the bible as a whole tells us that God created us in His image, meaning that we are as gods with the ability to know good and evil.

Ref: Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

Gods work was to create Adam and Eve and give them intelligence which God knew would result in separation. Rom 9:20

Have you ever wondered why God said that a son leaves his mother and father and becomes one with his wife?

That is a marriage and the marriage between heaven (God) and earth (Adam and Eve) resulted in them becoming one as like god or in the image of God.

That resulted in a death sentence upon all mankind as or what we consider the original sin.

All that work is the works of Gods .

Our works:

The part we have in it as like gods, our works are, to exercise free will by doing good in the face of an evil environment: To rather choose the good.

Because we had nothing to do with the condition we were placed in, (lost) we therefore had no say so on how to save our selves from that condition

God did it for us in Jesus enabling us to be reconciled to the Father via Jesus apart from our works.

All of us are judged by our works, whether believers and or non believers, for this world is not kind to any of us and is accountable in the flesh.

If we are believers we are blessed while we are in tribulations, by peace of mind, strength in faith and joy of our salvation.

If we are non believers we suffer this world without Gods peace.

The wages of sin is death the bible says and when you die, you cease from sinning and are immediately present with the Lord in the air.

Church institutions require strict adherences to their by-laws for the weak in faith, otherwise, they may wonder aimlessly in an unkind world needlessly suffering without any hope and or peace.

Hope that helps.

The first part of your response is pertains to earthly, fleshly desires which is if you can understand it, the environment by which we are to rise up from to the attitude of the second part of your response which is faith in God.

Yes, faith in God indicates God is with you via your attitude quote" if I had to choose between the million and that. The faith wins hands down".

Truly, your attitude (Fear=respect)is to please God and I know you are careful (with Trembling)to do it right.

Continue on you spiritual journey with joy in your heart and let it not trouble you what trials you will encounter, because He promised He would be with you till the end.

Your are on His boat and He is the Captain of your salvation which shall never sink.

Walk on water for your faith will carry you through!

Look, 3467 you are so sweet you really are. What ever faith you are, you are what we all strive to be. you seem kind, loving and caring. I would like to tell you that. But here is the one think I would like to point out to you. Just this, Now like us all on here we are only human, claim no authority we dont have it. But here is what I was taught. Grace is free, it is given to us by God, and you are right we cannot buy our way into heaven. Thank God. We all got his saving Grace at Baptism. I agree with you all the way. But see we can lose grace. thats why once saved always saved just don’t cut it.

Think about it, if this is true, why would we even try to live right. ITs hard. But that is why we do it. So we can hope someday that God will welcome us to his home in heaven.

My Dad told me this, is one sure way to get to heaven. ONE WAY. Do you know what it is?

As Catholics we believe that we are saved by God’s grace alone. We can do nothing, apart from God’s grace, to receive the free gift of salvation. We also believe, however, that we have to respond to God’s grace. However, many Protestants believe that the only response necessary is an act of faith; whereas, Catholics believe a response of faith and works is necessary…or, as the Bible puts it in Galatians 5:6, “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumsion is of any avail, but faith working through love…faith working through love…just as the Church teaches.>>>Lampo
Thats all fine and good! You are comfortable and can freely worship God in spirit is all that is required of God.

Now, how you wish to serve Him is totally up to you and between you and Him.

I would change nothing about your views except to be open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit in your daily life.

Study the word, converse with others and live just and right.

Let your light shine as a light of hope that is in you to them that have no hope.

Thank you for your kind words and to that I owe it to God!!

You should try to live right because you love God so much that self is lost completely and you become one with Him.

Compare that to “having to” live right as like by some law.

Notice this verse: Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Love all to your hearts desire, for there is no law or limit because it is you who wills it so.

And that dear friend is what God seeks in all of us and the purpose of our creation.

You are correct, but there is one way. My Dad said if you want to get to heaven there is one sure way.

LIVE THE TEN COMMANDMENTS. EVERYDAY. If you can do that you got the best shot ever. The problem is, Do you know how hard that is?

…If you died right now, are you 100% sure you would go to Heaven?"
yap 😃

God promised paradise for those who worhip one God only.

Many Muslim sinners will go to hell on the last day. After spending some days/ months/years in fire , those Muslims who did not take deity besides God will come out & enter paradise.

Unfortunately If I have to go to fire on the last day  , God Willing one day I will be able to go to paradise as I worship One God only 🙂

1 Cor. 9:27 - “No, I drive my body and train it, for fear that, after having preached to others, I myself should be disqualified.”
As an Evangelical I;ve heard this question ad-nauseum. But I’ve never been nor am I now absolutely sure I’ll go to heaven. It’s stupid to believe so because life is a whole lot longer than some people seem to give it credit for being. If even St. Paul wasn’t absolutely sure who am I?

Jeesh! I can’t take it anymore. Sorry to have wasted your time. Your statement boggles my mind and frustrates me at the same time. I just don’t understand why people actually believe that one can die while in the state of rejecting God yet still go to Heaven. It’s utterly unbelievable!

Guess why Jesus came for? Precisely to give us the ability to live the Ten Commandments with ease.

If you love God and neighbor, Jesus promises that you are compliant (Meet the requirements) with all ten.

He knows our inabilities that is why we have an advocate between heaven and earth, A High Priest, Jesus, that is touched by all our affirmatives.

Go to Him daily and for your every need and rest assured that He does listen and grant you your hearts desires.

Lampo, think about it, the very people that crucified Jesus He forgave.

Can there be any greater sin than to crucify the Son of God?

Those forgiven are aceppted into Heaven by Jesus.

I would like to explain the one way issue: In Adam, flesh, we all die physically, and because we aquired knowledge of good and evil we are condemned spiritually as like Adam and Eve to a “lost” estate.

Can you agree with that?

Ok, then by necessity God has to impliment a saving grace, meaning He Himself has to initiate the saving process.

Of which He did and ofcourse, it is the “only Way” mankind can and could possibly be saved.

Therefore, Jesus is the second type of Adam, but this time He is a spiritual Adam in the flesh without sin and with the full God head bodily
(Ref: 1Jo 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.)

Col 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

That makes Jesus "the only path, way back to the Father for all mankind!

Jesus fulfilled the Ten Cammandments to the letter for us and only He as God could do that, after all, was not God who placed us in this condition first and than second provided a way of escape from it?

There is a deeper understanding of Gods works that we can not even phantom.

One is that God reached back to the very first parents and all the offspring and declared to them of their salvation before they even knew of such as one, Jesus.

God is merciful in saving us, but we are bent on rebelion.

Therefore, we either try to live just and right by Gods word or we crucify ourselves to a premiture death of the flesh in sin.

We are all accountable to the flesh for what deeds we do, whether to blessings or curses.

That is our judgment!

But for salvation, Jesus was judged in our place which makes any other way unacceptable but through Christ.

Hi, You have faith in God because you accept the premise that God will offer you paradise “if” you worship the one God.

I can also tell you that that same faith in God can only be had by reason of God’s wanting you to know it.

Now, because you have faith in God matters not that you are a Muslim but that God looks at your heart for what it is.

If your heart is right with Him you are one of His children that He favors to bless while being a Muslim, a Catholic, a Baptist A Jew etc.

If you are right with Him, you want to, not have, to live right and love your neighbor as it is Gods desire.

I am a Christian and have no problem with any religious belief as long as that belief system exercises Godly type of love.

If it does not, such as a radical belief were it harms the neighbor, then that belief system is false.

God is love and that’s what He desires for us to emulate.

Can you do it as a desire to, a want to, or are you constrained to do it because of an institutional belief?

If it is not in the heart to do right, it matters not what religious belief one espouses to belong to, that religious belief in you is a false one.

God through Paul: Gal 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

We are made free when we accept Gods redemption and live in His graces.

Are you free?

When you say that you have absolute assurance that if you died right now that you would go to Heaven isn’t that flying in the face of Scripture? Particularly this one?: “I do not judge myself. I do not know of anything against myself, but that does not mean that I am acquitted. The Lord is the one who judges me.” - 1 Cor.4:3-4

Aren’t you judging yourself when you say that you have absolute assurance of your salvation if you were to die right now that you’d go to Heaven?

At present Lampo, there is none but the Holy Spirit.

No, I didn’t miss it, that verse has a deeper meaning than what we are given to understand via the churches.

The branches that were cut off from the vine (Spiritually speaking) were the Jewish nation. They held prior to Christ the only inheritance to God while the rest of the world was without hope.

Consider the Jewish nation as like the first born, like Cain, like Esau, like Ishmael and Jesus like Able, like Jacob and like Isaac.

In order to change the intended inheritor (Israel) spiritually, to the second born Jesus, (Spiritually) there must be a cutting off of both a spiritual inheritance and a physical inheritance.(King of the Jews)

Clarification: Jesus as like second born in comparison to Adam and Isreal.

Zec 6:12 And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD:

The branch is Jesus physically whose life was “cut off” by Israel, as like the first born, or as like Cain killing Able.

Hos 10:15 So shall Bethel do unto you because of your great wickedness: in a morning shall the king of Israel utterly be cut off.

Was not Jesus considered to be of great wickedness, thus driven to the cross to be “cut off”? And was not Jesus a prince until declared to be “King” at the cross?

Now Israel shall be cut off spiritually: 1Ki 9:7 Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people:

Then Isreal like a branch also shall be grafted back in when Jesus said: “Father forgive them for they know not what they do”.

Here in then is both being cut off: Isa 9:14 Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day.

Can we now see what cutting off of the branch really means?
Application of that can be also used to threaten souls to hell if they do not fly right.

Here we see the whole scenario of Gods works in the salvation of the world.

Answering it with a question, does that make Christ of none effect if I don’t?

Tit 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

If my righteousness saves me, then what need have I for Christ?

My own works can be a curse or a blessing, yet while I live, but Christ has my soul kept sound.

Jesus answered questions with questions all the time! Check it out in Scripture and see if it’s not so. Christ is NOT going to keep you from voluntarily going your way and walking away frrom Him. You’re not a robot. If you were LOVE would be non-existent. Love is not an emotion it is a choice!

He may have forgiven them but most of them did not accept his forgiveness. So chances are many of those are not in heaven. Forgiveness was given but they chose not to receive. As my dad used to say “You can lead a horse to water but can’t make him drink!”

Amen! Because whether we have the ability to understand or not, God is still in control and His will be done!
to sin is to say NO to God and his will… whether we mean to say NO or not… Intentions don’t get us to Heaven… only doing the actual will of God gets us there…

(though this is not to discount his mercy… otherwise known as Purgatory)…

True! Up until the word love is mentioned, I would have to say that God is love and love is what He expects us to exercises don’t you think?

Now check this out, what type of environment would love be best be exercised in?
Would it be in a perfect environment free of all evil? Or, would it be born in an evil environment?

Did not light shine in the darkness? Meaning darkness was first than the light shown forth into it.

The evening and the morning was the first day?

Darkness and light are both of the same day?

Meaning that out of darkness the light of God shown in our hearts and therefore, we choose the good over the evil?

Yes, a choice is correct!

But first we must have knowledge of the light before we can consider going to wards the light from a point of darkness.

One point I would like to make about Jesus’s words and that is He maintained, fulfilled what was then the requirements of the law thus giving only those answers that pertained to the law in order to fulfill the law.
But, gave His Apostles an insight to what was to come after He was offered up as a new condition, a new creation that was born in the midst of darkness of knowledge in mankind’s lives.

2Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, **should shine unto them. **

If I am born again, and have life, can I again become dead?
what about st. Mt 18:23? The guy was TOTALLY forgiven by God, had his entire debt wiped out… instant Heaven… but he refused to forgive someone who owed HIM a much lesser sum… so the debt was re-incurred… and he was handed over to the “torturers” (regret, remorse? demons? all of the above?) until he paid back the entire debt… and since unforgiveness, the bible tells us, excludes us from Heaven (“unless you forgive others, you will not be forgiven”), we wonder if this person even made it to Purgatory… seems he may have gone to Hell…

so much for Once-saved-always saved…
