Celebrate :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: - Dems just lost their hope to call witnesses. The vote called was 51-49. Next step - acquittal!!!
Does it not bother you guys that Trump has a negative approval rating and a whopping 48% of your fellow Americans think he should be removed from office?

Please don’t gloat. It’s unbecoming .
His numbers are still. The democrats were hoping to
destroy him. The democrats have been doing a lot of
gloating over the last 3 years in their glee to mock him,
attack him and trying plot after plot to destroy him.

How could they work on them before the facts that make them up happened?
Who says they are flimsy? You?
That’s a good question for the Speaker of the House who admitted such, you should ask her. The whistleblower may also know as well. “Who says they are flimsy?, You” Yes me, along with many others.

Shill voting. The GOP I the Senate have become puppets living in fear of a Trump primary challenge and loss of donors if they dare breath out of line.

Might want to expand your news resources,CNN is a joke
I don’t need CNN to read a call summary and that Trump was trying to extort Ukraine into opening up an investigation on his political enemies by withholding funds earmarked for the Ukraine by Congress.
The Democrats showed themselves to be the corrupt party, putting together flimsy articles of impeachment which they even admitted they were working on 22 months before the phone call between Trump and Zelensky.
Actually, it was the Democrats that were standing up for standards that have guided this nation for almost 250 years. It was the Republicans that threw them out the window for the sake of political expediency.

They weren’t working on the facts 22 months ago, but
22 months ago - if not longer - the idea of impeachment came up and they had the Russian collusion going and the Mueller Report so when that
failed impeachment was their next plot.

Every crook defendant in prison says flimsy. ( Comes from the impeached Trump.)It is an arbitrary declaration except for Trump who sees it as a way to be king

The Democrats were unprecedented in the way the conducted the House hearings. Everyone knows it too. As well unprecedented trying to have a non bipartisan impeachment with nonsensical and non-impeachable accusations. Their 3 years of working so hard on impeachment was a total failure.

How can you have no partisan when the Impeached person’s party no longer exercizes independant thought over anything. Anything!
Next! What Democrats worked on Impeachment where for 3 years( let’s dispatch this TRUMPISM).
MUELLER WAS GOP APPOINTED. Both houses at the time were GOP controlled and Rosenstein was a Trump appointee confirmed by McCONELL. That’s how Trump beat the rap.
" Unprecedented" in the way they conducted the House hearings means what?
Trump declined to participate when asked in writing. Gave up his chance to call witnesses. The depos were a substitute for a grand jury, which Trump’s AG would not consider based on the new ( DOJ cannot investigate Trump) rule. Please understand these are all part of the new authoritarian order

Again, you seem very confident that Bolton has nothing, but that doesn’t really explain why the Republicans were so scared to have him testify then.
Doesn’t explain why the Democrats in the House didn’t try to subpoena him either. Weird.

Everything that followed Trump’s election, from the Russian collusion accusations, White House leaks, special counsel investigation, and now impeachment, is a reaction to the ideas Trump explains in this 6-minute speech given back in October 2016. Watch it here:

or read the transcript here: https://sauwingcom.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/trump-oct-13-2016-speech-transcript.pdf

“ Our movement is about replacing a failed and corrupt political establishment with a new government controlled by you, the American People. There is nothing the political establishment will not do, and no lie they will not tell, to hold on to their prestige and power at your expense.

The Washington establishment, and the financial and media corporations that fund it, exists for only one reason: to protect and enrich itself.

The establishment has trillions of dollars at stake in this election. As an example, just one single trade deal they’d like to pass, involves trillions of dollars controlled by many countries, corporations and lobbyists.

For those who control the levers of power in Washington, and for the global special interests they partner with, our campaign represents an existential threat.”

“ It’s a global power structure that is responsible for the economic decisions that have robbed our working class, stripped our country of its wealth, and put that money into the pockets of a handful of large corporations and political entities.”

“ The corporate media in our country is no longer involved in journalism. They are a political special interest, no different than any lobbyist or other financial entity with an agenda.”

“ We will vote to put this corrupt government cartel out of business. We will remove from our politics the special interests who have betrayed our workers, our borders, our freedoms, and our sovereign rights as a nation. We will end the politics of profit, we will end the rule of special interests, we will put a stop to the raiding of our country – and the disenfranchisement of our people.”

No, they weren’t unprecedented and no, it’s unfortunate that the Republicans are now so beholden to party that they no longer hold American values and respect in law and order. If the impeachment process exposed that to likely voters, then it probably was a success for the Democrats, if a terrible thing to see for the country.

Trump was allowing no one from the White House to testify. Weird.

Trump said it and then created a victim narrative. How clever.
Replacing a what?
He is the third President in history impeached. Although he did it in the shortest time. You look up Trump from the list of Curruption by definition. The IMPEACHED

I guess unprecedented as the only House managers unable to call a live witness in 250 years. So maybe

I guess unprecedented as the only House managers unable to call a live witness in 250 years. So maybe
No unprecedented in that “Resolution 660, passed by House Democrats on Halloween, failed to note the significant differences with resolutions authorizing previous presidential impeachments.

Like for example how previous resolutions authorized only the Judiciary Committee to investigate whether impeachment grounds exist. On Sept. 24, 2019, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi unilaterally told six different committees to investigate without any rules or procedures. Unprecedented.

H.R. 660 set procedures for public hearings in only two of the six investigating committee. The others were named in the resolution but were told simply to “continue their ongoing investigations as part of the existing House of Representatives inquiry.” This meant that the other four committee could continue operating in secret, using procedures they make up as they go along. AGAIN unprecedented.

H.R. 660 created a structure for subpoena authority in the Intelligence and Judiciary committees very different from what was in place for the Clinton and Nixon impeachments. AGAIN unprecedented.

On Oct. 8, 1998, the House adopted House Resolution 581, granting subpoena authority to “the chairman and ranking member acting jointly.” If “either declines to act,” the other may act alone after bringing the matter to the committee to decide “whether such authority shall be so exercised.” House Resolution 803, adopted on Feb. 6, 1974, included the same provision for the Nixon impeachment. The structure for subpoena authority in House Resolution 660, was AGAIN unprecedented and the opposite. It was not directed at both the majority and minority; and did not use the word “jointly” at all. Instead, the ranking minority member must have “the concurrence of the chair” to exercise subpoena authority, but not vice versa. If “the chair declines to concur,” the ranking minority member must bring the matter to the committee for decision. In other words, the chairman can act unilaterally, while the minority always needs the majority’s permission. AGAIN unprecedented.

FH.R. 581 explicitly said that, after committee approval, the ranking minority member can exercise subpoena authority “acting alone.” H.R. 660 deleted any mention of the ranking minority member actually exercising subpoena power, saying only that he or she may refer the matter to the committee. AGAIN unprecedented.

As if this significant departure from past impeachment procedures were not enough, there were even more radical developments brewing in individual committees. H.R. 660 presented the Intelligence Committee as taking the lead, the Judiciary Committee has made its own move. Chairman Jerry Nadler, New York Democrat, released the committee’s own impeachment hearing procedures “pursuant to House Resolution 660.”
