I think the poster’s point was that she would prefer that the congress pass fewer laws of any kind. A friend of mine who was a conservative senator shared that view, and so do I.
Then it will give Congress the necessary time to investigate violations of trust in the executive branch of the government.
And yet Democrat president Clinton actually received personal favors from Chinese government in form of $300,000 secretly donated to his campaign in violation of the law…uh oh…
Shame he wasn’t impeached for this. Might have gotten a conviction.
But OrangevMan baaaaad! Remember that!:woman_facepalming:t2:
Thank you for this contribution.

Personally, I’d rather just pay them to play golf and stay out of DC.

yet you’re trusting same fools who failed to impeach him then. great logic
And the same fools that voted for impeachment. Funny how that works.

Then you must love the President because he seems most interested in playing golf and staying out of DC. A lot of us want our elected representatives to work to create a better life for Americans and form good policies for the future though.

Hence, the involvement of his personal attorney shows that this was a personal matter, not a matter of national interest.
A former Vice president gets on TV and brags about how he used U.S. aid to get a prosecutor fired; a prosecutor who was investigating his son’s company. And because Biden was a candidate for president, he should be immune from investigation?

Trump would have been derelict if he had NOT asked the Ukrainian government to investigate that deal (among others)

Of course, you well know that it was the policy of the US government as well as many EU governments, the IMF and anti-corruption Ukrainian citizens that the prosecutor should be fired. There is no evidence at the time that the investigation into Burisma was ongoing; the literature from that time suggests that the investigation was dormant and only occasionally Shokin would use his position to elicit bribes. So, the purpose of investigating Biden wasn’t for justice, but rather a way to pin corruption on Trump’s political opponent.

An investigation should be based on evidence, not conjecture. In this case there is no evidence. That said, I agree with you that Trump has been derelict in his duties as President.

I didn’t vote for Trump. Am undecided as to whether or not I’ll vote for him or not vote at all.
A lot of us want our elected representatives to work to create a better life for Americans and form good policies for the future though.
And a lot of us feel that the more they stay out of our lives, the better quality our lives will be.

Yes, we know the Dem talking points defending Biden for bragging about obstructing justice in Ukraine. All the same, Shokin has been charged with nothing, and wasn’t at the time Biden demanded his firing.

The investigation of Burisma was ongoing at the time and nobody claims Burisma was anything but corrupt. Whether it “bought” the vice president of the U.S. by giving his unqualified son millions remains to be investigated.

That would exclude anyone I know.
The very rich love legislative activism because they write most of the business laws that get written. And they’ll pay legislators to do it for them, just as the banks paid Joe Biden to pull the teeth of the bankruptcy laws in favor of creditors.

It’s funny how the so-called Democratic talking points are also the truth. The ‘bragging about obstructing justice in Ukraine’ however isn’t the truth.

Articles have said it was dormant, so you can claim it’s ongoing, but I tend to believe sources that are older and don’t have a political ax to grind.

I saw him do it on film myself. So did you and probably half the American people. Corruption sometimes displays itself like that.

Well, again, feel free to source and directly quote what he said. Also, I am still waiting to hear about Pope Benedict finding that Bernie Sanders is ‘disqualifying’ for a Catholic to vote for. The requests are backing up.

When you don’t listen, requests might seem to back up. Everybody, including you, has seen the Biden film. Are you actually denying that you did? Tell us.

But I will say that Sanders (and all the Dem candidates) are disqualified by application of the principles Pope Benedict enunciated.

I never said Pope Benedict directly said Bernie Sanders is “disqualified” as a candidate. You twisted my actual words in order to claim that. Go ahead and quote the post (and name the post) in which I said that. You can’t, because I didn’t.

Nah, I listen. I clearly don’t hear what you think you hear. That’s why I ask for a source and a direct quote.

No, you actually didn’t say that, nor did you respond when I asked about it. Can you please provide us with a source of the principles Pope Benedict enunciated that you believe makes all the “Dem candidates” disqualified.

Well, you actually did. You could have replied and cleared that up, but you chose not to. Hence I had to ask several times.

You still have not said whether you have heard Biden’s statement about getting the Ukrainian prosecutor fired. Did you or didn’t you?

I’ve heard statements made by Biden about the prosecutor in Ukraine and his role in getting him removed, but I don’t remember any of these where he 'bragged about obstructing justice in Ukraine" so I figure you must be talking about one I hadn’t seen yet. Please provide a source for this.
