This is still all a lopsided presumptuous coloration of the facts to infer something illegal. And we have the fake news media attempting to fragment information to make a narrative for their own purpose. As usual, this is a result of media selectivity of facts, focus on piecing things together to make it sound illegal, and then shouting in unison, see…see… orange man bad…

But I have more confidence in Barr and Durham getting to the root of all of this rather than trust the created narratives of MSM types spreading cherry picked info to support their narrative.

Don’t you find it interesting that Parnas suddenly makes a very public appearance accompanied by a media blitz at the start of the impeachment trial? As many senators have said… Pretty shady… This is just a different shade of Kavanaugh tactics by the Dems and the MSM like usual. We are getting pretty tired of it.

The Dems are like the boy who cried wolf too many times. The American people are just starting to ignore them…

Of course, with Parnas, you would want to corroborate the evidence he brings. It seems to fit nicely in what we already know and I am sure we would know the truth if Guiliani would testify under oath.

The question I have is why Trump surrounds himself with so many criminals.

That’s exactly the kind of behavior I’d expect from someone who was concerned he’d be made into a fall-guy. Or one who is looking to exchange info for some immunity.

Zelensky: I’d like some help dealing with Russia, especially enforcing sanctions.
Trump: “I would like you to do us a favor though because our country has been through a lot and Ukraine knows a lot about it.”
Zelensky: Yeah, one of my aids already talked to Giuliani. Send him over so we can hear what you want.
Trump: He’s a great guy. Those things with the 2016 elections the Bidens and Burisma should be investigated.
Zelensky: Ok, fine we’ll work with Giuliani.
Trump: He’s a great guy, I’ll have him call you.

I don’t know that that is fair to Trump. I think it is more of a passive thing: these are the folk who gravitate to Trump, as others won’t.
 
Because you can’t just say “well I’ll pause our regularly scheduled foreign policy until the ukranian president does me a personal favor.”

And as Giuliani’s letter reveals, he was working to secure a favor in a private capacity, not as a representative of the US government.

It can suggest whatever you want it to suggest, but that is it. None of it is proof or evidence of Trump’s behavior.

You may have the OPINION that Trump was acting like a “mafia boss”, however it is still only your opinion of what happened.

Really? Are you sure an innocent man would turn over anything the accusers asked? The President is not under the authority of Congress just as Congress is not under the authority of the president. President Trump was not obligated to assist with the witch hunt the Dems in the House put on. If the Dems thought it was crucial to have those documents they could have gone to court to get them. Instead they convinced a bunch of people President Trump’s action was Obstruction of Congress. They know it’s not obstruction, they know they can’t prove it, they know he won’t be convicted of any of the charges, they know he won’t be removed from office, they know all of that. This was a futile exercise and they knew it from day one.

They also knew they could possibly affect President Trump’s ability to be re-elected. Since the Democrats running for office have no platform except to hate Trump. The funny thing is there are all these people who absolutely bought into the whole fairy tale, who actually believe President Trump is guilty of doing something wrong.

Nothing to buy into. Trump’s call was clear and Mulvaney spelled it all out for us. Yes, he has done something wrong and should be removed from office.

I think Trump pretty much blew the idea he was innocent when the transcript of the call was released. He could have let his people testify if the matter was somehow unclear, but he refused to allow Congress their traditional oversight role. That’s why he has been impeached and should be removed from office.

I didn’t say he would be. Republicans have given up their Constitutional duty in order to support the man. I say he should be.

Except for the call and Mulvaney’s comments. And everything else we’ve learned since then.
 
Says who? Where is the law, rule, expectation that President Trump has to cooperated with the House Dems in this? He was impeached because the Dems saw it as the only to have a change at the 2020 election. But once again, just like in 2016, they underestimated the American public. Please do not draw out the old tired story of the popular vote. It is irrelevant as it has no power to change electoral process which is the law of the land no matter how much you want to deny it.
