If it is “obvious” then it will be revealed in a bonafide trial, not something involving partisanship.

This is not bonafide, it is tyranny.

“Farcical” is not a matter of the motives of the prosecutor or the defense attorney. It is a matter of evidence.
 
Exactly. The GOP thinks people won’t notice that they are complicit in hiding incriminating evidence

The House is presenting their evidence now, are you watching the trial?

The House is the chamber responsible for fact finding not the Senate. The House didn’t follow through and gather all their evidence it’s their fault not the Senates.

Democrats “We want to hear from witnesses” but NOT Schiff, Steele, Bidens (both of them), the Schiff leaker, Clinton, Lisa Page, Strzok, Steele, the Ohrs, etc…etc… Always only who WE want.

You have no evidence of Adam Schiff lying, and if you did, that would be the subject of a fair trial including all relevant evidence.

What is the precedent for a trial where relevant evidence and witnesses are not heard?
 
As was just posted above you the Dems cherry picked who they would and wouldn’t allow so hey there ya go.Why should the senate be compelled to agree to their demands. Answer,they shouldn’t and they won’t
 
At this point and when it’s all over all Dems will have is their own rhetoric for the 2020 election.

AFAIK, the only people that the “Dems” (of which I am not and never have been) did not allow that the Republicans wanted was the whistleblower and Adam Schiff himself. Neither one of these people were involved in Trump’s effort to get Ukraine to announce that they were investigating Biden, so they are not “evidence”.

However, communications within the State dept, communications within the NSA and between pertinent parties, as well as communications between ambassadors and the justice dept are definitely relevant evidence.

And now, the senate is complicit in refusing to hear that evidence, so the trial is a sham. I repeat, it is tyranny.

Okay, present your evidence. If you present your evidence, and I present evidence that he was not lying, then our informal discussion is more legitimate than what is going on in the Senate.

The republican senators bragging about ignoring the evidence so far, so it can be both. The evidence is overwhelming, but it needs to be spelled out even more explicitly by new documents and witnesses to get the now-captive senators to listen.

“Aquinas”, you should be more careful about quoting. That quote did not appear in a google search. Are you sure he said it?

So I did a little reading, and the Senate is going to allow evidence presented at the House hearing into the senate trial, but it remains to be seen if they will actually consider all the evidence gleaned by the house, or just some of it (what will be the least incriminating, so as to “shelter” the president, effectively acting as a defense team for him).

It remains to be seen, then, if the trial will be a complete hoax/scam or whether evidence that supports the charges as well as evidence that does not support the charges will be admitted.

It is a bit bothersome that the media has been saying all along that the senate would absolutely not boot Trump out, which sort of gave permission to the senate to be totally partisan instead of unbiased. That is media manipulation, and it does not give the Senators the benefit of the doubt.

It is an over-extension of the power of the POTUS to say he won’t provide evidence and the congress does not use their constitutional right to acquire it.

And we can also expect that Trump will continue to use his power as president to manipulate foreign nations into doing investigations for him. He is already impeached, and the Mueller investigation did nothing to discourage him from continuing the same behavior.

Trump may indeed prove that he is above the law and can do anything he wants.

Something I heard on the Impeachment trial tonight… Congressional Subpoenas were not issued. The House didn’t vote to send subpoenas, only a few members or something like that??? So the subpoenas were not lawful??? I’m a little confused to say the least…

I don’t see the relevancy of motives here. I see a set of facts and whether it is impeachable. All else is extraneous.
You cannot say they were “after him” in the past, therefore the current murder charge must be dropped without consideration.
The issue is fair trial. That means not hiding evidence because it is incriminating or exculpatory. That is the only way of legitimacy.

The Gallup poll I saw did not say that. It was more like
56% do not want him removed.
