Sonic you are a good person…You haven’t let the bad that is in the world blind you to the kindness and the compassion that most of us try to show to others

The standard is set very high, by the best example that ever lived, Christ, but in my lifetime I have seen people of such virtue and love caring for the least among us it always gives me hope

So you were in an Irish institution and suffered these horrors?
I suffered my own “horrors” in a public secular school, as I stated in one of my previous posts. The time, place, or institution is irrelevant: abuse is abuse. And yes, I suffered what some people might call “sexual” abuse.

If you want details, then you’ll have to wait for my autobiography to come out in book stores. 😛

So you weren’t in an Irish institution - your description makes it clear. Why then are you claiming some kind of affinity with the Irish victims?

As the Rabbi said to his wife:

Would it matter if I told you?

Sonic you don’t owe anyone the details of your private life. It is no ones business but yours

Brikmaker it isn’t up to you to decide what sonic can post…If you care about abuse please stop being abusive to those you don’t agree with

We are not your enemies because we see things in a different light than you do

I never said it was but if he chooses to claim to be an abuse victim on a public forum, have I not the right to ask him why he is bringing this up?

And if you can show me where I’ve been abusive as opposed to blunt in my language, I’ll apologize.

Indeed,🙂

🙂

My God never asked me to be nice but to follow His Truth. His Truth is FORGIVENESS, which is LOVE itself. If all our WORLDLY WORKS seems **NOT **WORKING ANYMORE (no matter how angry one becomes), we still have the power to forgive and pray for ALL SINNERS. Why not to give it a try?:clapping:

ANYWAY by Mother Teresa
People are often unreasonable, illogical,
and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, People may accuse you
of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some
false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank,
people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone
could destroy overnight.
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness,
they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today,
people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have,
and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis,
it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway.
PRAY FOR ALL OUR MILITARY BROTHERS & SISTERS this Memorial Day!!

You should know that the minister who runs Hidden from History is extremely anti-catholic, and I have to question his motivations due to his repeated use of charges against the Catholic church that have time and time again been disproven as false. A quick search of CA will find information proving what I have just said.

hiddenfromhistory.org/Rec…4/Default.aspx

A man that is willing to spread false information in one instance must be scrutinized for accuracy."

I read the referenced article qnd yes, Mr. Annet does seem “extremely anti-Catholic”. However, I think I understand why he feels that way. I found most of the information in the article very insightly and enlightening.

The CC does have a long history of having strong legal minds always protecting and defending all actions of the church. In fact, the superior legal defense services of attorneys available to “the church” has been described as “virtually unlimited.”
Mass graves have been discovered in Canada by the residential schools and there are secret records of the schools that the Vatican refuses to release which could reveal other mass graves.

I admit I am not primarily filled with sympathy and compassion for the victims, living and dead. I hunger and thirst for JUSTICE.
The Catholic Church has a long history of seeing that justice is not done when it comes to its own crimes.
I will not be visiting this thread anymore because it just upsets me too much. I cannot see how anyone, Catholic or otherwise, is going to be able to get “the Church” to amend their ways and do right.
Decades, maybe centuries, of covering up and hiding wrongs has now blown up in the face of the Catholic Church.
I am very sad that all of this has happened, but what I have observed regarding these recent mass abuse and “genocide” events, matters are not going to be healed and taken care of rightly. The church may appear to prevail and win this one regarding the Irish childrens homes, but the blow-up can no longer be contained. The people are beginning to see a long pattern of abuse by the church that has been cleverly covered up and smoothed over and hushed up.
I always tried to defend the church in my younger years. I just cannot do it anymore. The facts are just too many and too overwhelming to try to put up a defense.
God bless everyone who has contributed to this thread in the name of Jesus Christ Who is Truth.

Sometimes there is such a fine line between blunt and abusive it is hard to tell them apart

No you do not have the right to pry no one does…I wouldn’t do that to anyone here

WE share, but we don’t force things…Try to imagine this is a social event and how you would talk to someone you just met…You wouldn’t ask them all kinds of personal things

We must remember just because this is the net doesn’t mean that someones feelings can’t be hurt or old wounds can’t be reopened

Get to know people a bit and perhaps some will open up to you when they feel comfortable doing so

I am sure you wouldn’t want to pry too deeply so it brought up a lot of things someone felt they had put to rest…🙂

I wasn’t prying. Sonic introduced the subject, not me. Why bring it up at all on public forum if old wounds were going to be opened?

Because he wanted to let me know what I said helped him

We don’t all deal with things the same way, so we must respect others privacy when they don’t wish to go further

It is a place to interact and to share but we mustn’t badger anyone…Our right to know ends at their right to privacy No one is on trial here…🙂

I must admit it’s good to hear that said, it often is easy to get caught up in the debate for everyone, myself included. 🙂
