Is There any Difference between Supporting Woman Privacy Right & Supporting Abortion?

Supposedly my neighbour gossips about me being pregnant. This is only example šŸ˜„ After the whole village talk about my pregnancy, finally somebody make police report about me going for illegal abotion. When police come at my door, I say ā€œI have never been pregnant. It was only gossipsā€. Question, who do police should believe: my neighbours or I? How to prove it?
A completely irrelevant question. Abortion laws target abortion providers as having the mens rea and as the actual persons committing murder.

Unfettered access to abortion up to and including 40 weeks is the law of the land. There are literally no legal protections at any point during pregnancy for the child.
Then get the states uphold the supreme court rulings.

They are. See any abortion providers being arrested? Legislating a bill that pushes the Supreme Court to evaluate the constitutionality of abortion restrictions is not the same thing as enforcement.

It is becoming increasingly clear you have not thought through this issue, or are ignorant of the law, as you keep having to shift the goalposts in our discussion.

Pope Paul foretold that once you separate sex and conception abortion, sex outside of marriage and homosexual sex would prosper. He was right!
And porn is the one advertising this behavior of separating sex from reproduction as if sex is merely entertainment.

It starts there in the mind of porn & promiscuity.

So if supreme court has given its opinion, does it matter if roe v wade or any other rulings does not really matter?

If it is practiced, it matters

If it has been only a few weeks, there is a blood test that can tell if you were pregnant. However, there is no way to tell…as far as I know…if you aborted or miscarried the child. Just thought I’d throw that in.

And if I miscarried, and a law enforcement come at my door suspecting me having illegal abortion, that would be a privacy breach. Which woman deserve such situation?

This is about making a law that allow strangers to offend individual privacy.

You completely lost me. Show me where abortion providers are being arrested in practice. The premise of your last statement appeared to be that the states passing laws challenging Roe V Wade were restricting abortion in practice. If I am wrong in what you were inferring please correct me. But if I am correct in your point, show me all of the arrested abortion providers.

Again, this is irrelevant. Every law being written to restrict abortion places the criminality of violating the law on the abortion provider, not the pregnant woman. This is a complete straw man.

I’m sorry I’m going to drop out because I’m not sure what I’m even answering.

To sum up:
A) Abortion is the murder of innocents; hence isnt’ justified
B) Privacy is very important. But there is no ā€˜right’ to abortion due to a person’s privacy
C) I don’t believe a government should disarm it’s people; for a variety of reasons. But I won’t get into them now because that’s a whole different post.

I hope you have a blessed day!

I agree without further evidence the woman should be given the benefit of the doubt. However, if there was other evidence (such as traces of her haven bought the abortion pill), she should lose it.

If persons were openly recognized as persons prior to their birth, obviously privacy would not protect those who victimized unborn persons in any way, whether it was in private or not or whether the existence of the person presented a problem for the privacy of anyone else or not.
What do you mean by this? Please explain.

Sorry, that was badly written.
Privacy is very important and worthy of protection. Fine. It doesn’t make abortion morally acceptable when the personhood of the unborn is recognized, not any more than parental privacy protects those who commit infanticide or child abuse.

Ok. That makes more sense.

Sorry for the delayed response, I had to leave the forum. I am back now.
In that case I feel very badly for that person. I do not recognize the right of a government to completely disarm someone without due process, and it sounds like they were put in a lousy position.
It is always a temptation to just ignore people’s privacy, for ā€œthe greater goodā€. But usually ā€œthe greater good by ignoring people’s privacyā€ isn’t that good, or, it is good for some at the expense of some.

Sure the fetus life is important. The parents are supposedly the first persons of interest to defend the fetus life. It is questionable why that we find the mom on the otherside in the battle of defending her right against her fetus right, which is supposedly under her custody.

Supposedly husband & wife have sex in private, it is good. But if the husband then upload it to the internet, it becomes porn. The difference between the two? The loss of privacy.

When government disarm its own citizen, it is leaving them fulnerable for many kinds of human right abuses. Privacy protects our dignity as a human person. I have the right to have privacy at my own home.

To sell people privacy is similar to selling the people as comodity (or slaves, if you like), eventhough perhaps at several different levels. Making money or other benefits out of other human being. This is the spirit of porn.

For example, when I shower, I close the door. Can anybody put cctv there in my bathroom? I dont do anything bad in my bathroom. Why would I need to keep it private? Because it is my right to have my privacy.

Supposedly somebody put cctv in my bathroom, and upload my showering time to youtube, then what that person doing, is to sell me as a comodity by selling my supposedly private time.

I am showing you that all these, are of the same spirit. The spirit that fail to regard the dignity of human person.

I’m 100% in agreement here. Porn is bad. We shouldn’t be letting either the government, or in my opinion businesses, be lax with privacy protection.

However, privacy protection isn’t pre-eminent. Given probably cause a copy might get a judge to issue a warrant to search your property. Your privacy to drink is curtailed by your responsbility to others: You can’t privately drink then go out and drive a car. Your right to privacy doesn’t extend to limiting the rights of others. Suppose a friend has personal knowledge of your lifestyle; that you drink, or perhaps smoke in your house; or you use marijuana. You cannot forcibly keep them in the house just because you want to protect that secret.

The parents are the first person of interest to defend a life. But sometimes they fail. Sometimes miserably. I have family who are cops who have seen children in the most horrendous situations because their parents are addicts who care more about their next score than feeding the child. In that situation the welfare of the child trumps the rights of the parent’s privacy to just sit and do drugs in their house.

Similarly, I have zero problem saying that a parent who wants to kill their child isn’t protected by their own right to privacy.

The entire right to privacy/right to life conflict is an invalid argument, in my opinion. It was created by the courts in an attempt to justify abortion. It reduces all of our rights by dehumanizing the unborn child and making them rightless in the face of the rights of the mother.

This doesn’t make sense. If you are concerned about the privacy of the mother, aren’t you concerned similarly about the privacy of the child? The right to simply, privately exist? If you deny that then any claims you make at a mothers right to privacy is immediately undermined. Because in that case I could say ā€˜Well, sure, I beat my wife. But its in the privacy of my own house… my rights to privacy are superior to hers because she’s less powerful and dependant on me…’

So, how do those who live here stop abortion. Electing Republicans, even when in control of everything, hasn’t been very effective. Electing Democrats, who try and provide programs for the pregnant, hasn’t been very effective. Abortion has declined some, but still remains our national shame.
We may never stop Abortion this side of our Lord Jesus’ Return . .
However, ALL Catholics are called to not Vote for Pro-Abortion Political Candidates…
And the Platform OF the Democrat Party is solidly Pro-Abortion
