For the LOVE OF GOD,…!!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Why wasn’t it written down by mohamads scribes as it was delivered, from beginning to the end is my question.

The koran is one jumble mess - it was not written as it was revealed.

Is my question that difficult…??

If mohamad recited the koran as the angel gave it to him every year, why wasn’t the book compiled the was it was revealed??
:console:

Muhammed was illiterate person, so he let four of his decibels memorizing it:

Sahih Bukhari,Volume 6, Book 61, Number 521:
'Abdullah bin 'Amr mentioned 'Abdullah bin Masud and said, "I shall ever love that man, for I heard the Prophet saying, 'Take (learn) the Qur’an from four: ‘Abdullah bin Masud, Salim, Mu’adh and Ubai bin Ka’b.’ "

Now, why he didn’t instruct them to write it instead of just memorizing it, let us analyse the 23 years of revelation, I would assume in the first years Muslims were afraid of Quraish tribe to discover any scripture of Quran and persecute them (when Islam was weak), but after it got strong, some Muslims start writing it as indicated by Aisha hadith were she said that some scriptures of Quran were eating by the goat under her bed.

Jesus had the power to heal the sick, blind etc etc.
Surely God could have given muhammad a miracle of been literate…

I just read recently that Mohammad was probably not illiterate because he had to be able to read and write to take care of his first wife’s business affairs, but that he was “unscriptured”, meaning he was unfamiliar with scripture.

Mohammad knew the Syriac language besides Arabic!
Sure he was able to read and write!

have you ever saw a person who learned to speak and read English if he couldn’t read or write?

Not sure what this is asking. I have met Hispanics who could read, write, and speak English but could only speak Spanish.

I think it’s clear why the angel was so violent. It was NOT an angel of God…simple as that. It was an angel from Satan. It was an angel that Satan sent to stop any acceptance of Christ as the Son of God in Arabia. There is no other being that would have so much to gain from the rejection of Christ as the Son of God. The great I AM.

The Angel Gabriel announced the conception and birth of Jesus to Mary…as we all know. How could that same angel later go onto say that God was wrong the first time around and that Jesus is just a prophet.

I believe that Dante’s Inferno has a pretty good handle on mohammad and the result of his turning millions and millions away from Christ.
I have the greatest respect for both Jews and Muslims. Their belief in the One true God is to be commended. God has a plan for mankind…to be sure. And that plan will be carried out in the end. However, Satin has a plan as well. Although God is the utimate authority, and His Plan will prevail, that is not to say that He has not given Satin free reign over mankind with the ability to confuse. The Book of Job proves that.
Think about it! Jews, Muslims and Christians all believe in the same God of Abraham. We also believe that angels have been used as messengers throughout history. Some were sent by God…others may very well have been sent by Satin. An angel, for example, was sent to Mohammed, to the Blessed Virgin Mary, to Joseph Smith, and a host of others. Each of those angels sent a different message to mankind. One of those angels, and only one, was from God.
I happen to be a Catholic. I believe in the teachings of that church (as handed down by the apostles of Jesus Christ) and also, the book that they put together (and edited) as being the infallible Word of Jesus Christ. I also beleive that no individual human being has the right to interpret those words on their own. Martin Luther attempted that…and look what happened.
I say to all that seek the truth…do your own homework. Do not believe anything unless it can be proven.

You said,
How could he read English if he couldn’t read English? That’s what it looks like one of the things you are asking. 🤷

P.S. I have met plenty of people who don’t know grammar.
What I was trying to say is that you can only learn a language by 2 ways:
1- by writing.
2- by reading.

a person can not learn a new language if he is unable to write or read. It has nothing to do with grammar. How can you understand a language if you didn’t write it? Or how can you read/ write a language if you are illiterate?

Without question, God could very well have granted Muhammed the power to become literate. And if not, He certainly could have got the same message across by using disciples to do the same thing. But that is not the issue. How many times has God called upon illiterate children (Fatima, Lourdes, etc) to send a message to the world? Even Jesus Christ Himself did not call upon the literate to become His disciples. He chose fishermen and common folk.
But never let us forget that Satin pocesses a great deal of power also.
In all my years of studying various religions he doesn’t seem to have the power to prevent people from venerating God. What he does have, in my opinion, is an undying quest to nullify the sacrifce that the Son of God (Jesus Christ) made for all mankind. I may be wrong, but it sure seems that way.

How do children learn a language before they can read or write?

Hi traded her goods in caravans - he handled money - he sold goods, took money in - he wrote the marriage contract for Aishia,

On his death bed, he wanted paper & pen to write something for his companions.

There has been several discussions on here about the word “ummi” which has been used to describe mohamad… and…even many islamic members have said to mean “Gentile” and does not mean “illiterate”

Now I am confused. How do you read, write & speak English but ONLY SPEAK SPANISH?:confused::confused::confused:

Did you mean READ/WRITE English but only SPEAK Spanish?

Yes. The adverb “only” modifies “speak”, not “Spanish”. Capisce?

This may have been answered before, but why did people believe muhammad? Why do people follow hadiths even when they controdict?

That’s kind of a long answer. Suffice to say, a lot of what he spoke about dealt with the issues of his day (such as burying your daughters alive), and that appealed to a lot of people. He also grew as a political and later military leader for many Arabians, and earned respect in that regard.
Why do people follow hadiths even when they controdict?
There are different levels of hadith sources, such as sahih (“trustworthy”) hadith sources, and so on. There are scholarly ways of showing which hadith sources are trustworthy and which are not, depending on the source, the chain, and what level of trustworthiness is the hadith. Some hadith sources, such as Sahih al Bukhari, are very well respected and are considered by some Muslim scholars as second to the Quran in importance (though they’re not considered holy scripture like the Quran is). The Shi’a Muslims deny most of the hadith sources the Sunni use and have hadith sources of their own, and so go by those standards.

👍 yes indeed, but I’m still wondering what was that something he wanted to write and Umar denied it on him !!!

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 70, Number 573:
When Allah’s Apostle was on his death-bed and in the house there were some people among whom was 'Umar bin Al-Khattab, the Prophet said, “Come, let me write for you a statement after which you will not go astray.” 'Umar said, “The Prophet is seriously ill and you have the Qur’an; so the Book of Allah is enough for us.” The people present in the house differed and quarrelled. Some said “Go near so that the Prophet may write for you a statement after which you will not go astray,” while the others said as Umar said. When they caused a hue and cry before the Prophet, Allah’s Apostle said, “Go away!” Narrated 'Ubaidullah: Ibn 'Abbas used to say, “It was very unfortunate that Allah’s Apostle was prevented from writing that statement for them because of their disagreement and noise.”

“Though Islam has historically identifiable origins these origins do not provide any reason for concluding that Mohammed’s teachings are an accurate view of God, the universe, and mankind. Instead, the circumstances surrounding the origin and rise of Islam can clearly be understood simply as a product of normal human affairs and ambitions.” That is one of the conclusions of this analysis.

Some of the “products of human ambitions” were that you got to keep 80% of the booty you took in battle, and you got to make slaves of the women and children of your enemies. The alternative was for you to be on the receiving end of these “ambitions”.

As far as Islam contradictions are concerned, that is the main theme of the link above. You have to remember that Islam does not use unitary logic like we do in the West. It uses dualistic, i.e., two conflicting statements can both be true.
