umm, its almost impossible to have a typo of that magnitude:rolleyes: ignore function, lower left hand side in your profile:D
Exactly how many times did he engage you after his announcement he would be more careful?

Once?

I think anyone would believe a one time thing could be a mistake…

But was it only one time before I confronted him?

Keyboard excuses aside?

hey, no prob. but if we have to defend the faith which is what we are doing, then well, we have an obligation to show him the truth.
Not really. We could use the old “casting pearls before swine” one they use,

but I prefer to see him hang himself with his own words.

once. yes it was one time if memory serves me right before you confronted him. he keeps coming back, so sooner or later God will in His own time work a miracle on that poor soul.

Goodnight,

You’ve all made a big impression on me.

I’m particularly impressed at what happened when I mistakenly typed the word Jerusalem instead of Bethlehem in a comment about the poor children who were slaughered.

Even though I extended an apology for a simple mistake, I was rebuffed and insulted over it by multiple people.

don’t you mean a wardrobe malfunction?😃
A Jehovah malfunction.

Jehovah does not take lightly a promise made by one who seeks

To sin no more-

And then within hours does what they said they would “be more careful”
about

What the heck is be more careful anyway?

How does that line up with a firm purpose of commitment we do?

And , as he “advised” me to let wedding rings be

up to my concience…

ITS NOT UP TO MY CONCIENCE! Certianly, one who strives to conform their will with Gods will strive do this but-

Its God’s Way or the highway!

And yes, I do have a ring.😛

hellisreal, i really like your personality:thumbsup: it is quite refreshing actually:thumbsup: you are correct of course:thumbsup:

Bible Steve,

I almost find it fascinating that the JW’s pick obscure “scholars” who endorse their NWT. Jason BeDuhn indeed does reflect that “a god” is a legitimate translation…however, he also states that he prefers “the word was divine” a fact none of your little WT articles ever bring out…nor does it bring out the fact that Jason D is NOT considered by anyone, to include himself, to be an expert in biblical greek…he’s not recognized by the scholarly community as having that expertise…nor does the “Society” acknowledge that the OVERWHELMING vast majority of the scholarly community DOES translate John 1:1 as “was God” and that this is how those who actually speak greek recognize it.

The Society has LONG FROWNED on independent bible study. I believe it was Judge Rutherford who stated that a "biblestudent (read JW) who read the bible for two years without the “Watchtower helps” would be more lost than if he’d never been a JW…in other words…without the JW literature to “help understand” the JW doctrine just isn’t found in the bible.

I do have a wedding ring though.

I could not add “reason for edit” as my time was up.

God put you here for a reason TC.

I just saw it, and Yessisan, and decided I needed to know about this more.

Its taken me some time to get a hold of a real live JW to have in my hands the stuff I get now. And, will get more I am sure.

But, I did it because I read your posts, and hers, and cant let this one go by.

I actually think if you hadn’t put your Mary "Watchtower propaganda up people probably would’ve been nicer. Don’t mess with our MOM- it really ticks us off;) We see THAT as a big insult to all of us.

I reviewed 50+ Bibles to contrast and compare each and every sentence. These included dozens of Catholic and Protestant Translations and Version.

How about you?
I use the RSV-CE. However, no one bible is 100% correct, unless it is in the Aramaic, Greek,Latin and Hebrew, and you read all four.

Mistakes happen. That is why we are human.

🙂

There was absolutely no insult towards Mary.

“The fact that the Scriptures do not teach Christians to pray to Mary in no way implies a lack of respect for the role she played in the outworking of God’s purposes. The blessings that come through her Son will be to the eternal benefit of all obedient mankind. “All generations will pronounce me happy,” Mary herself stated. And her cousin Elizabeth said that Mary was “blessed ... among women.” Indeed, she was. It was a wonderful privilege for Mary to be chosen to bear the Messiah.—Luke 1:42, 48,*49.”

On the other hand the response to me typing Jerusalem instead of Bethlahem was petty.

I love how “Watchtower” has all these handy dandy pamphlets for every situation- That way you don’t even have to think:D
Their faith tradition is so shallow that they have no concept of Contemplative Prayer. It might make sense to them with about 1,800 more years of church history beneath their belts.

And remember, they have to spend a percentage of their time being anti-Catholic, or they would have no reason not to BE Catholic. Catholics are in the obvously enviable position of being Christian 100% of the time. We are against only satan and sin.

Christ’s peace.

we get that. thanks for pointing that out again friend.let by gones be bygones. have a wonderful sleep tonight steve, and may you dream pleasant things, and know that it is possible for even the hardest of sinners to come to God and ask for His Divine Mercy:thumbsup: we all sin and we all fall short of the glory of God, but because He has such infinite mercy, we all can come to Him and put our complete trust in Him and He will show us the way home. the words of our Lord to Saint Faustina in Saint Faustina’s diary:The miracle of Divine Mercy restores that soul in full. Oh, how miserable are those who do not take advantage of the miracleof God’s mercy! (1448)

Got it loud and clear. You require no Scriptural support for what you believe. You form opinions that are completely undiscussed in Scripture and insult other who note that the scriptures don’t comment on your belief.
What happened to the first several generations of Christians who HAD NO BIBLE? Are they all in hell? No, you say? Well, salvation is not dependent solely upon the bible then, is it? If it was, Christ would have brought one with him, taught from it, commanded its writing, or something!

The vast majority of Bible readers are completly unaware that dozens of translators see John 1:1 differently. 50+ translations say something different than “The Word was God”.

It’s truly a shame that no one cares and they just go along believing what they’ve been told.

In my opinion, doing deep research on both sides of the questions is critical. I’ve read dozen’s of books on the Trinity because I’m truly interested in understanding the truth.

In my opinion, most Christians are on autopilot, almost hypnotized into believing whatever they are told by their church without any independant research.

Pick up Debuhn’s book… It’s really a good read. You don’t have to agree with it, just expand your knowledge base.

He brings out amazing and interesting points.
