Thanks for the kind words. I guess we have a few things in common.
I know a lot of people love turnips. I always found them bitter. I couldn’t understand how my folks said they tasted “sweet” – they were always bitter.
Growing up, I was not the typical kid who hated all vegetables. I loved most foods I was served, so I felt it was unfair to force me to eat just one that I didn’t like when there were so many others from which I got plenty of good nutrition.
I don’t think we ever had Rutabagas, so I don’t know what those taste like.
I do like beets, however. And, I like beet greens. I also like carrots. Not crazy about radishes. Unlike many kids, I liked spinach and mustard greens. And, eagerly ate them.
And, believe it or not, I like to eat raw potatoes. I liked the crunchiness as well as the flavor.
I guess I was a strange kid!
