Pat Toomey, Republican Senator from Pennsylvania, just tweeted congratulations to President elect Biden after all legal avenues have been closed.

Just so we’re clear…I agree that he’s not attempting a coup. He’s just desperately trying to figure out a way to win and not have to accept that he lost.
Agreed.
He has every right to go to court.
Agreed.
He’s just not accomplishing anything other than to throw distrust in our election process
That’s contrary to what you just said. He’s exercising his rights. That defends the election process.

Their strategy is to get state legislatures to throw out the election results and replace them with Trump electors. Do you support that or not? (I know it won’t work, but that’s not the point.)

I would agree if any of his accusations had legs. If he’s trying to prove how sound and legal this election was, well, he’s doing that! Do you honestly think he’s making these challenges to assure everyone just how legal and fair our election really was? I certainly don’t.

Again, nonsense. Nothing is being delayed.
Normally the President elect gets intelligence briefings, and there is also a delay in providing the information and coordination on the coronavirus task force. It is a complicated process, transitioning to a new administration. Things are definitely being delayed from where they were when Obama handed off the administration to Trump, who got access immediately.

And the Obama Administration’s transition was weaponized against president elect Trump and his transition team …

A mere delay while the election irregularities are sorted out is less damaging than spying on the incoming president elect

Changing the goal posts, eh?

“Well, maybe they didn’t do that bad thing, but look! They did some other bad thing!”

Oh, is this the point where the USA looks idiotic on the world stage? That’s good. There have been so many other international interactions which I thought that line has been cross. I’m so glad we made it this far before that happened.

It is not a nonsensical farce. It is the process of exercising one’s rights. It will go on as long as the courts are at work. It is how our system works.
This is not how our system works.

If Trump has any legitimate points, he can take them to court. But he has not had any legitimate points. In our systems, his lawyers should keep him from bringing time wasting frivolous lawsuits with no grounding in the law.

His cases have been a mockery of the courts, not a legitimate attempt to redress wrongs. They should stop now if he does not have a rational cause. Trump is showing an American system twisted almost beyond recognition, with the country’s prime executive not knowing the basics of the law, and employing lawyers who are equally unable to show proper respect for the Courts and the Presidency and the principles they rest on.

He’s just not accomplishing anything other than to throw distrust in our election process…on that, he’s unfortunately succeeding with some loyalists.
Which is what the Left did over the last FOUR years … and unfortunately they succeeded with the left loyalists …

We could name this a “Newsome” for the Left … What is Good for Thee is not Me … The left can sow distrust in the 2016 election and then carry that “Trump illegitimate presidency” for four years, throw in special councils and impeachment to add to that illegitimate presidency message … all of which was a coup attempt - a real coup attempt …

Going to the courts is not coup attempt. It is not even that uncommon in elections in general … and I note - no one was complaining about the lefts flurry of suits to get election procedures changed - mostly doing away with checks and balances in the lead up to the elections … which kind of throws distrust in the system

We put men on the moon 50 years ago and yet have not learned how to run honest elections with all the
technology we have today.

The media doesn’t care if there was fraud because all they care about is that Biden wins - even if they had to
cheat. If anyone cares about the election process in our country they should welcome an investigation into
the 2020 election. It will only get worse. The democrats tried to get away with a lot the past 4 years to get rid of Trump and this was their last resort.

That is why they were telling the people "it will look like Trump is the winner on election night, but just wait a few days and Biden will be the winner.

James Carville pronounced confidently back in September that Biden would win. I could tell by the look on his face he was assured of a Biden victory.
He had a sneaky smirk on his face.

We are all being hoodwinked.

Make sure you put that down in an affidavit for Trump’s legal team

But if it somehow succeeds, do you think he’ll say ‘just kidding, folks; it was Biden all along’?
To succeed, he will need evidence in court.
He wants to overturn our democracy.
If he is successful in court, if Sidney Powell has evidence of what she says happened, that means the democratic process has already been overturned.
I find that highly unlikely, but he has the right to challenge in court.
Anyone who stands for democracy (not just flag waving) should call him out on this.
Anyone who believes in the constitution should defend his right to be heard in court.
Their strategy is to get state legislatures to throw out the election results and replace them with Trump electors.
Democrats tried to get electors to abandon their states and vote for Hillary in 2016.
Trump’s strategy, without evidence , will fail just like Clinton’s did.

Of course it is. We better hope that our system of seeking redress in court doesn’t change. That’s when a real revolt will happen.

Has he won in court yet, to an extent to change the outcome? No?
Then what are you complaining about? If you think he is making a fool of himself, fine.
If they have no evidence, they will lose. That’s exactly how our system works.

That’s a personal opinion, not a constitutional concept. The constitutional and statutory concept is candidates have a right to challenge in court. If you want to see these changed to deny a candidate access to the courts, I would oppose that.
Trump is showing an American system twisted almost beyond recognition,
Again, personal opinion that frankly doesn’t resemble the constitutional and statutory facts.

Just because something is allowed by law doesn’t make it necessarily legitimate. A father may have the right to spank his daughter, but if a neighbor started disrobing his daughter before spanking her and inviting the neighbors over to watch for a small fee, I doubt you would say ‘by all means, let him continue, he’s well within his rights.’

In this case, our lame duck isn’t just flooding the courts with dubious lawsuits over what should be formalities at this point, he’s applying pressure politics in the hopes he will encounter one corrupt or weak judge or legislator who will allow him to throw out a bunch of legally cast ballots and subvert the will of the voters. And the flag-waving and pin-wearing crowd has no problem with it, apparently. I guess now we know how much those flags and pins are worth.

Allowed by law but illegitimate? Interesting.
right to spank his daughter,
The disrobing that would be illegal on many fronts. There is nothing illegal at all in what Trump is doing.

Goodness. You are assuming things that haven’t and clearly won’t happen. Tell me, which state legislature looks like, right now, it’s ready to vote a slate of electors in contradiction to the popular result in their state? Name one snd provide evidence.
Pennsylvania? Michigan? Wisconsin? Georgia?
Arizona? Nevada?
Wait. Not just one, but three of these state legislatures would have to. Do you really imagine this is about to happen?
Do you really believe the SCOTUS is prepared to circumvent the EC? By what evidence?

I’ve said throughout this and thread that the Trump campaign has to provide evidence. If you have evidence that at least three of these states plan to do what you’re saying, provide it. If it is true, I will join you in condemning them.

James Carville always has a sneaky smirk on his face. That isn’t evidence.
I didn’t claim it to be “evidence”, but it made me very suspicious of what inside knowledge he seemed to be privy too in order to so confidently announce that Biden would be the winner.

Red flags were going up long before election day.

I predict this will all be swept under the rug as complacent Americans weary of the pandemic and
Preparing for the holidays say to themselves " there is nothing they can do", submit to the fact it was an election rife with fraud and nothing will be done about it.

Was this a judge appointed by Obama? Do these judges not care about the Constitution?
