Ok…on a serious note…which has more direct impact on my life (and which is more interesting) 1) Kathy Griffins lifestyle/bank account (especially her post summer 2017 photography fiasco) or 2) a bunch of OCD/scrupulous/hand wringers whining about the impending doom of man made global warming?
Enough with the global warning already! 😃

Two hand-wringing OCD whines don’t make a right.

Done. You have your five stars. 🙂

Although now it is no lie, having grown most fond of this thread, bringing with it, a warm fuzzy feeling inside, caused, I think, by the mentioning of carbon footprints AND Global Warming, within a framed context of equal absurdity.

thank you Tawny, that’s exactly what I was about to say. You beat me to it!

Shalom
But…Kathy Griffin is on the forefront of protecting our 1st amendment rights! (Unless, of course, you want to say something like abortion is evil or man made global warming is a scam).

She is a leader! She is entitled to a larger carbon footprint!

Actually, I saw that house just recently. Something about the Sheriff closing it down on Saturday night.

Seriously though, with all the kids in the So Cal area going to bed hungry at night, the plight of the latino immigrants in California and the Southwest, and the elderly in Cali having to choose between medicine and food, do you think someone like Griffin is going to have an interesting sit-down with the Lord at judgment. After all, didn’t he say something about “to whom much is given, much will be expected.” I mean, what can you do in a 10 million dollar crib that you can’t do in a 5 million dollar one?

Sort of glad I don’t have that problem.

Shalom

Tucker Carlson already has the job, man. Chill.

More important is: What is the CARBON FOOTPRINT?

Having a large carbon footprint is the THE most vile, heinous, detestable mortal sin there ever was.
Well, the home IS in Los Angeles, so… yeah, mortal sin in that world. 🤷

Getting closer to page 10.

Why would one person need a bigger house than 8,000 sq. ft.

I owned a house that was 1836 sq. ft. and after my son turned 18 and moved out I was ready to downsize. I can’t imagine living in a house as big as 8,000 sq. ft. as a single person, let alone an even bigger house!

There seems to be a thought among many Americans that we all need enormous houses. Our school principal and her husband bought a home that was 3,000 sq ft!

After living there a short time, she commented, “I don’t know what we were thinking, this house is way too big for us. And it takes forever to clean it!”

They have since sold their first home and moved into a different home – although this time they will have one of their moms moving in with them, so at least there will be three people instead of just two. And the new place is smaller.

I think when my son moves out and starts a life of his own, I may rent out a room in my home. I suppose I could move, but that is just so much work. Maybe when I retire… or get married??? :rotfl:

My house is in a big city and I don’t know if I would feel safe renting to a stranger.
Especially now that I am 65. If I were in my 30’s or 40’s maybe.

I agree. The bigger the home, the more cleaning required. I am sure Kathy can afford a housecleaning crew if she can afford a $10million house.

Kathy could buy one of those Roomba robots.

I thought she was a D list actor/ comedian…how in the world could she afford a place like that in Bel Air, CA, among other properties?

Isnt Bel Air more on the A list scale?

The correlation between income and wealth is positive, but not perfect. There can be some D list actors who are wealthier than A list actors, mainly because they are better money managers. Or some D list actors think they are A list actors and life their lifestyle accordingly.

I guess because there are a lot of D list audiences out there. 🤷

Even just one episode of Seinfeld produces enormous residuals.

Indoor skating rink.

Indoor skating rink.
Mini-cinema complex.

Indoor (as well as outdoor) swimming pool.

Gym.

Games and utilities room (table football, table tennis, snooker and pool etc…).

Anti-terrorist surveillance office covered wall-to-wall with diagnostics control equipment.

Room equipped for cat climbing.

Mini-badminton court.

Shower units and changing rooms.

Extra parking.

Craft and creative work room (for woodwork, DIY and design).

Two or three meeting rooms ( with really long executive tables).

If they are spiritual then a room especially for this.

No doubt if someone were to own such a place they would also need a lounge with a table covered with thousands of issues of Hello Magazine (urgh) swamping the area at the sacrifice of one of the cooler options for designated space.

Indoor botanic gardens (to monitor acutely, using specially calibrated equipment in rigorously climate-controlled environments, ratios of change in warmth)…in order to expose the IPCC.

Telescope aimed at the moon (to see what the Chinese are up to on there) and to report back with use of the surveillance room.

I can imagine some wishing to have an indoor bar.

The list of things people don’t need but have anyway are endless when one does not regulate one’s spiritual health in accordance with one’s physical surroundings.

…that said, every house requires a blender (IMO). One can do great things with one of these.
