I think we should listen to Bella. I mean just look at the post, a thinly veiled attempt to blame ALL jews for a racial slur.

It takes a racist to know a racist no?😉

where did I “tell people off” Damascus? This is a Catholic forum and Catholics should stick up for one another. If I told you not to post if you don’t understand, is that a sin?? Why make a mountain out of a molehill Damascus? I tell it like it is. I am not a phony as some on this site. I am a defender of my Catholic faith. You should be glad if you are Catholic.

I for one can not stand by or stick up for another Catholic if they are wrong or incorrect…(not stating (either way) that you are) that is totally wrong! If the person is incorrect they should be corrected…plain and simple:)
 
Michael Richards/Kramer is most likely NOT Jewish. It’s possible, but he’s a very active free mason and a member of something called the Scottish rite. His conduct was inexcusable. As was bella’s when she immediately tried to use this event as an excuse to critize Jews for being upset with Mel Gibson.

Even if he were Jewish, there would be little comparision, other than that they are both bigots. I’m sorry to disappoint those here who apparently took glee on casting aspersions on Jews, making the usual liberal (jew) media comments etc.

Whether Kramer is Jewish or not (whether by birth or current religious practice) seems to be the big question of the day.

If so, let it be known that being both (1) Italian; and (2) Jewish is not a contradiction.😃

There goes Valke, trying to gain pity for the Jewish people…give me a break, and Michael Richards IS Jewish. I did not use this for justification of my favorite actor, but to show you that you are not always the victim.
 
And by the way Valke, I thought the way the Jews handled Mel Gibson was dispicable b/c he already apologized but that wasn’t enough. If he hadn’t made The Passion, he’d be just another drunk. It is what it is.

Some people cannot handle the truth.
 
That’s twice you’ve asked me that, nothing is wrong with me at all. What’s wrong with you? I’m simply saying before laying wild eyed accusations you should be able to at least verify that the guy in question is actually Jewish. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to request references on a message board when accusations are being thrown around.

What this man said and did was wrong and people who were offended had a right to be. No argument there.

However, just a side thought;

Wouldn’t it be something if people and the media would get as upset when someone takes the name of the Lord in vain? Or mocks God in a comedy routine or on tv? Yet that happens all the time and would hardly be deemed newsworthy or raise such an ire.
 
I agree. I first heard about his behavior this morning and the first thing I thought of is that it’s perfectly acceptable in this country to berate God and Christians and we’re supposed to “lighten up,” but God forbid someone say something racist or homophobic or sexist. I’m NOT in any way condoning what he did, but there’s just such a double standard in our society today.
 
Don’t know all the facts, don’t really care to put the effort into finding out the facts.

But-

Sounds to me like he was lashing out. He was hurt by the hecklers and wanted to hurt them worse.

The hecklers could have asked for their money to be refunded instead of being rude.

Reading comprehension is paramount when discussing things like this, saying someone is Jewish isn’t an accusation in and of itself, saying that the media is downplaying the situation BECAUSE he is Jewish IS!.

To compare Cosmo Kramer to the Mel Gibson incident is wrong, Kramer was an actor from a sitcom and hasn’t been heard of in ten years. Mel Gibson is an academy award winning actor and director whose made two of the highest grossing films of all times. it would be akin to Steven Spielberg calling a cop the N word in a racist rant.

They’re both bigots but the situation is totally different. Mel Gibson wears his religion on his sleeve. Type in Mel Gibson Catholic in google and there’s tons of info. In one day no one can find anything to verify Kramer is actually Jewish.

Let’s not get into comparing two very different scenarios.
 
Here is a huge problem I have. Black, Hispanic, and Asian comics poke fun at white people all the time, and it is considered funny. If we do it to them it is racist. Someone in the audience called him a cracker. Why is there no outcry over that?
 
Again lets be reasonable here.

Mel - catholic- says bad stuff about Jews
kramer- ?- says bad stuff about blacks

Is Black a religion?

Last time I checked Bella, no it is not.

SO drawing a religious parallel here is without merit!:mad:
