One does not have to step foot in a parish to hear from the parishioners what it is like. Do you have friends or family who live in different cities? I do. We talk.
Definitely. I mentioned Pennsylvania “and a few other states” but you chose to remove that in your requote #117.
Anyone who spends time on this forum, on another forum with Catholics, or has friends and family who are Catholic has the same common knowledge as we do.
I’m sure all thirty of you are in agreement. It still proves nothing. I say goodbye … this conversation is going absolutely nowhere. I have better things to do.

I don’t think of anyone as a lesser Catholic, but you have stated before that some of us are backward Catholics. And I know, you said you would be upset by the statement as well however, you have yet to retract it.

Well, you might be right about that but I thought for sure I had apologize for making the backward comment. I can see now that might not have been the best thing to say. But there were words thrown at me that were pretty brutal and very hurtful netmil(name removed by moderator) and I felt my way of worshiping was being attacked. Sometimes we say things we shouldn’t out of anger, anyway I am sorry for saying it was backwards. I don’t agree with it but thats a different story 🙂
Now, when statements are made like this…

Anamchara:
Edit: I also forgot about the whole horizontal thing netmil(name removed by moderator), you bascially told me this was what I was doing instead of vertical…very hurtful as I’m sure you would be if I told you your worship was not Christ centered but more about “show”
It was just replayed again at post #119. I have seen the same hurtful words spoken to me publicly by this person as well. Any who espouse the vernacular N.O. are believed by her to be horizontally worshipping community catholics. It needs to stop, as it is against forum rules. I support your feelings, Anamchara.
Netmil(name removed by moderator):
One is either happy with a **community centered **mass or is miserable with them.

POST#119 One is either happy with a **community centered **mass or is miserable with them

I see nothing wrong with that statement…either you are happy with it or you are not…very simple actually:)

Karin,

If you are naive, read Netmil(name removed by moderator)'s former posts. She does not hide the fact that she believes these liturgies are happy Catholic community masses. It is demeaning and personally insulting to imply that one’s worship is horizontal, happy-clappy, etc. I did bow out of this thread, but Anamchara has been wonderfully charitable and deserves a little respect here.

It would be wise for all of us to review Marian Carroll’s message in this thread. So far, it appears to have fallen on deaf ears.

Ya, this is a term I don’t really get either. The implications seem so obvious to me, horizontal worship community=we don’t care about Christ and are only there for each other. It does sting very much. Cuts deep truly.

Maybe we need to remember the moderators words on here a few pages back.

well I have read her posts…I have no issues with anything that she has written…and in regards to her Post#119…all she has stated is that some do not like it and some do…is that not true? She has not degraded anybodys form of worship in that post…she was stating a fact, plain and simple (or at least that is how** I** read it)

You both agree 100% with each other Karin, this doesn’t surprise me at all and that’s fine. Your a bit bais in that regard. So your opinion although it’s your right to give doesn’t carry any real weight.

WELL since you and joysong agree 100% I guess your opinion doesn’t carry any real weight either;)
And how am I biased? Becuase I am one that does not prefer the happy-clappy ?

yup, your right our opinon probably doesn’t mean much, that’s cool.

and you don’t see that the term “happy-clappy” is demeaning?

if so then we have nothing to say to each other and I wish you well.

Unbiased, Karin? Members of the toe-tags? Hmmm.

To spare you some naivete, for starters, N.m.m.'s thoughts are clear and well documented:

Wow! Check this out… This is exactly what some of the innovators talk about. How they love the “community” aspect of all of it. They don’t like “Happy Catholic” how about Pelagianism?

Shall I post more?

so what term would you prefer to have me use?
I am open to a more PC term!
This thread is about LM and N.O. I say we stick with that and then we will also be following forum rules a the same time.

I never said I was unbiased or biased…I prefer what I prefer and you prefer what you prefer…and yes I am a proud toe-tagger!

Yes that they are:thumbsup: good for her too…she does not beat around the bush…it would seem that you have issues with people that get to the point (are blunt at times) state what they feel and think

you did not have to post any of them…but thank you.
She described in the second link her “personal” experience …do you have issues with that?

Issues? Only when they are inflicted on others in the vernacular N.O. as being horizontal worshippers, suggesting they do not love Christ.

Remember, these are against forum rules to insult others’ manner of worship.

:tiphat: Thank you, Joysong, Thank you 👍

I can do that …no more touchy-feely or happy-clappy
Thanks be to God! Happy New Year! Let’s start fresh, accept and forgive one another and try to live like the Catholics we claim to be.

Amen, and Amen!
