Sorry, but if you’re implying what it seems to me you are, I believe you and I are on different sides of that fence.

Still, that’s no reason to discount the common understanding about politicization of healthcare issues being a bad thing.

Read it yet?
No, I skipped over it. Not interested.
Or go to https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/ and search something like:
Again, not interested.
EDIT - - yeah, I see that RuthAnne is wishing you luck in getting HER to post HER research. Hah! Does she have any?
Yeah, enough to convince myself. I’m not trying to win a debate. It doesn’t hurt my feelings any if you don’t think I’ve researched this. Not at all. In fact, I think it’s kind of funny.

Does, “I really don’t care” not mean anything to you?

I have the right to choose to wear a mask or not wear a mask. It’s that simple. I choose not to. So do my kids. And husband. Is there a problem with that?

It’s a little weird to be this engaged in a conversation and simultaneously claim you don’t care. Also curious that this indifference really seems to flare up when people are asking you to back up your argument.

I’d rather not start into a full fledged political debate, but he wasn’t mocked for wearing a mask. He was mocked for putting the mask on during the video, meaning he wasn’t wearing it beforehand, and then taking it off still on video. He was mocked because he has had a pattern of hypocritical behavior where he tells people to wear masks and then doesn’t actually wear them himself in a lot of his speaking events. There was even one thing where he had the mask on and took it off mid-discussion while talking about how important it is to wear masks… he even commented on the fact that he had taken his off literally moments after talking about how important they were. He looks like an idiot because he’s a hypocrite.

That’s all I’m going to say, I’ve had enough politics for the day.

Then lay it out there… 🤷‍♂️

No, people still get hurt if they drive recklessly.
They don’t believe the seatbelt will prevent the crash.
So wouldn’t the answer to mask complacency, if it’s a thing, be to educate people that they’re not perfect and they still need to do other stuff in addition to wearing a mask? If people accurately perceive that seatbelts help but aren’t perfect, surely we can get to the same place with masks.

The other guy’s hypocritical actions are much more obvious. These seem to be a bit of a stretch.

I wear a mask in public as a respect for others. Are they effective? Who knows, but it can’t hurt.

Think I already said that.

But I watched an object lesson today.
I was at a store and saw someone with their mask sneeze.
The mask stopped the sneeze from traveling forward. But the unfortunate soul next to them got slimed…and the inside of their glasses.
it was funny. I chuckled.
They took umbridge at that and proclaimed that at least they are doing their part and wear a mask.

Yes ma’am… you’ve done your part.

I think I would have been safer without them having done their part.

But it was funny.

OK, pretty canned response when someone actually doesn’t have any.
Yeah, you’re right. I have none. I made it all up. I’m so incredibly humiliated. I’ve been caught, red-handed in a lie.

Enjoy your mask. I’m enjoying not wearing mine.

Yeah, and while we are at it, let’s make a law against being stupid. I mean, isn’t the function of government to protect us from ourselves? Mommy . . . daddy . . . .

Everybody is responsible for their own actions. Wear a mask or don’t-It’s up to you, but so many people on social media try to shove their positions down other folks throats. I couldn’t care less if we’re in the same business whether you have a mask or not.

Don’t let social media dictate your own choices. Do what’s right for you and your family.
