I find it odd that the Church will bend the rules to allow a married man be a Priest, but will stop not allow a woman to be one.
Why would you find this “odd?” Priesthood and marriage is a matter of church discipline…whereas the ordination of women is a doctrinal issue…completely different. The Church has a long history of ordaining married men…PETER was married…and there are Rites within the Catholic Church in which the ordination of married men is the norm (Ukranian Rite for instance)…however, there is NO history of women being ordained.

The point i’m making is a married priest can’t do the same amount of work that a celibate priest does…that’s pretty obvious. You can’t be devoted 100% to being a priest and 100% to being married. Sometimes it’s hard finding another priest to take care of what you need to get done. Case in point it can take me about an hour just to find a priest to see for confession on a weekday and I live in a fairly populated area.
Sure you can…priests have been doing this for 2000 years. This argument that a married priest can’t be 100% devoted to church and to marriage is fallacious. The Catholic Church has ALWAYS had married priests. I don’t think you’ll find many Eastern Rite Catholics or Orthodox parishoners talking about how they feel neglected by the fact that their priest is married. A married priest requires a patient and understanding wife…but a successful marriage and a successful ministry as a priest are NOT mutually exclusive…and as I’ve said…married priests have ALWAYS been a part of the church.
