Unforced? Really?
Yes. Their choice not to in 2017. Their choice to 2018.
Note that I said choice; I did not say arbitrary or capricious. They had their reasons. But thechoose the policy change. which lead immediately to the “horrible” situation. Whatever responsibility and culpability is properly placed on others, whatever the impetus for Trump’s action, the proximate cause of the “horrible” situation is inescapably, the actions of the administration. i would think that Trump fans would celebrate that.

Nope. The horrible situation already existed: foreign nationals illegally crossing our border.

Hence, the proximate cause of the situation is the illegal crossing of our border. That’s the horrible situation.
Trump’s response may be different than that of previous administrations, though the photos initially used to spark the controversy were taken in 2014 during the time that Obama oversaw the horrible situation, but the situation existed prior to Trump’s presidency.
There is nothing to celebrate here. Things not to celebrate:
  1. violation of US borders and laws
  2. attention and resources taken away from the needs of real immigrants and asylum seekers who try to come here the right way.
  3. innocent children the victims of parental poor decisions, violence and abuse by violent traffickers, and being used as political pawns by American progressives. Thank God HHS is there to care for them.
  4. people coming here because of socialist tyranny that impoverishes and abuses citizens.
I can’t think of a single thing to celebrate.

It is simple laziness, to attack the source instead of discussing the information.
No, it is a source that wouldn’t change my mind because it has a bad habit of making up stuff. If it didn’t make up stuff or act as state propaganda then it might be worth reading.
Actually, you did, about the NRA.

The comments here continue to portray intellectual laziness. If someone posts something from a leftist network like CNN, MCNBC/NBC, ABC or the like, or a leftist opinion paper like WAPO, I don’t respond to the source, just the information.

That was not the horrible situation Trump talked about. You may thubk that that also. is horrible, but that the one that Trump talked.
Hence, the proximate cause of the situation is the illegal crossing of our border. T
This is just wrong about the “definition” or proximate and even the idea of “cause”. You may have a decent point to make, but this is not it.
I can’t think of a single thing to celebrate.
Trump’s actions?

So, you think Trump is saying he created a “horrible situation”? Really?

I gave the definition.
Trump’s actions?
It is nothing to celebrate. He took the actions he believes are necessary, considering the horrible situation.

f course of course not. He deflects the responsibility to the courts and the Democrats. Surely you realize that he does not accept responsibility for anything 'horrible".
Well then clearly he is talking about the illegal border crossings by foreign nationals
You gave an incorrect definition.
Or you did.
that he needlessly created.
He has only been president for 18 months. The horrible situation has been going on for decades

Foreign nationals crossing the border has occurred without the "horrible’ situation we now have under Trump
Wrong. it also happened just like this under Obama. It was just okay with the media and liberals when Obama did it.

The foreign nationals illegally crossing the border is the horrible situation. Progressives typically don’t think that’s the case. They welcome and support it.

The foreign nationals illegally crossing the border is the horrible situation.
I think that that is a situation that must be addressed, but that it is horrible that this nation, under Trump, has chosen from among its options to go about it in ways that are inhumane. I am happy that courts have intervened.

Why is that situation “horrible”?
Look at the problems and chaos it has created. Children being made to run the gauntlet that is the route through Mexico. Coyotes abusing and raping significant numbers of women and girls.
Some children being used as props for human smugglers. People detained for breaking our laws.
It is just a horrible situation that I believe must be solved

Is it “Republican” to point out that the Episcopal Church had a history of separating families?
