Does the sacrament of Penance remove the sin of adultery? Do you know for fact that Mel never found contrition for his sins?

There is not one of us that has not committed a mortal sin in our lifetimes. This is why we have a Savior.

The Passion of the Christ is a film that blessed the heck out of me. Likewise, John Paul II is a pope who blessed the heck out of me. I take my blessings where I can get 'em. Period.

Enough interview watching is how I know. He says it and it isn’t hard to piece it together. I watched a lot regarding this movie at the time the rest is between him the Lord. You can disagree if you want that is your choice. 🤷

Is Mel Gibson actually a Catholic? From what I have read his father belongs to a group of sedevacantists, and his own membership is a mystery. Is he a heretic? I find some of the imagery, and the focus on the physicality of Christ’s sufferings in the Passion, gives the wrong impression of what Christ’s redemptive death and resurrection is all about. I found it hard to explain to my friend after the film that it is His obedience unto death, and not the number of times He is scourged, that purchased our salvation.

HOLLYWOOD does movies just for the money and no one there would touch it. I have never seen any movie, about the Lord or anything else, that so increased my reverence and it had the same affect on pretty much everyone I have discussed it with. No other movie about the Lord has had this affect on so many people. In addition to that, in every aspect of filmaking this film is stellar: casting, cinematography, location, sets, acting, you name it. It is one of the true masterpieces in film history.

You may disagree if you wish your choice. I have heard him talk way to many times. I have heard him talk about his faith as well. He still did it for the money and has more or less said that in interviews since. As far as the movie goes the King of Kings did more for me than the passion ever could. Contrary to your experiences most folks I know didn’t much care for it either. Folks get more into glorifiying mel here and his movie then Christ IMHO. btw did you know several of the cast were porn stars ? didn’t think so.
 
Mel Gibson is not a Catholic in any way shape or form. He is out of union with Rome, he is one of the most irreverent figures in Hollywood. The man lives and breathes for hypocracy. (sp?) But thats just my opinion.

Would you care to post any documentation regarding your comment that “…several of the cast were porn stars?”?
 
Mel Gibson did NOT make the film for profit. In fact, he poured his own money into the project not having any clue if it would sell or not. Couple that with the fact that he could not sell the movie to any major distributor, and it is easy to see he did not make the film for profit…and he said as much many times leading up to the release of the movie.

Mel does need prayer regarding his disunity with the faith, yet he has done a tremendous work for Christ with that film.

🙂 Mel is probably a revert. I liked the Passion film but it speaks so much about Mary also and I had seen an interview of Mel and he said he was so gratefull for what the nuns did for him.

The whole movie probably took him down memory lane hope he has been back to confession the whole works. he is maybe being exploited by the traditionalists but he is probably in his own glory also.

He has made strange movies Braveheart etc. where this is too much adultery.

I also pray he stays reverted and I’m not sure we should critizize him too much the reverts come back and are like bulls in a china shop, I’ll bet he told them all to go to mass or not eat.😃

That was all rumor. It is on wikipedia. Mel is not a roman catholic.
