HAHAHA. Monica Belluci is not a porn star. You must not know what “porn” is (not necessarily a bad thing). “Irreversible” was not a porno and is not rated X. It was disturbing because of the particularly brutal rape scene in it. From what I read it was the violence that was shocking.
as I stated do a bit of research. It amazes me how some catholics here choose to remain ignorant.

I can recall the occasion of the woman caught in adultery and the woman (Mary Magdelein) whose sins of impurity were so vast she shed her repentant tears on the Savior’s feet; then dried his feet with her hair.

Strangely, MONICA BELLUCCI played Magdalein. From what I read in subsequent stories following the Passion, Miss Belucci has rediscovered her faith and is a new mother.

Christ often uses people who live dissolute lives to be his messengers. St. Augustine is a prime example of a complete turnaround.

There was a story (can’t remember his name, sorry) of a Jewish abortion doctor who found Christ, converted and now travels everywhere denouncing abortion and works for pro-life causes with all his energy. I think his first name was “Nathan?”

God often chooses the most UNLIKELY people to make Himself known to the world.
She may have changed after the movie I don’t know aned I haven’t seen anything in regards to that. I think often though stories like that will abound and it is possible it may or may not be true.

Well, maybe you should do some research on that…😉 😛

Wow. Please provide a link to the section of the Catechsim or any other Church document that requires “public apology” for sin. That is a new one to me.
Does the word atonement ring a bell?

Yes, you have stated that, so it begs the question…why are you so intent on proving that he isn’t a Catholic? You seem a little obsessed.

As far as “Mel worship.” I have only seen a couple of posts gushing about him. Most of the posts have only dealt with the topic of the thread - his Catholicity. He has a lot of faults, as we all do, but he seems sincere regarding his beliefs.
I really could care less about him one way or the other. What does bother me is the fact that some seem to be so gullible that they believe he is the epitomy of Catholicism when he is such a poor example of it.

by their fruit you will know them!
I see…

But, then there is also…
1 Judge not, that you may not be judged, 2 For with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged: and with what measure you mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3 Any why seest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye; and seest not the beam that is in thy own eye? 4 Or how sayest thou to thy brother: Let me cast the mote out of thy eye; and behold a beam is in thy own eye? 5 Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam in thy own eye, and then shalt thou see to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

Epitome? Who has said that? He is a sinner…no doubt about it. I am, as well. However, I am also a Catholic. Or, are you going to take a look at my sins and make a judgment of my standing as a Catholic?

This thread has not asked if Mel is a living saint, nor has anyone made that claim. It asks if he is a Catholic.

I would but I don’t care. I point out a few facts of the matter and everyone gets in a snit. Those facts are on the internet but no one wants to do the research. If they don’t care enough to do it why should I bother posting it for them. It is a waste of my time. This whole discussion is a waste of time really.

Well GrammasRose, you have more posts than anyone else in this thread. 36 right now. No wonder you feel that way.

I think you need to reread the thread. Several have made it quite clear they believe he has done no wrong.

so what ? I guess you would just prefer I sit back and say nothing when I see wrong. I don’t so get over it.

Well, Monica Bellucci isn’t the subject of the thread. Her standing as a Catholic isn’t in question, and I don’t feel a need to do research on her to determine how bad her sins are. My guess is that Gibson and his casting people looked for the best actress for the role. I doubt that they searched out either a devout Catholic or sinner for the role.

It just struck me as odd (and funny) that you were more than willing to do the research and post negative things about her, but when someone said something positive you dismissed it out of hand. (note: I have no idea of the veracity of the positive claim either, but, again, it is moot to this thread’s subject.)

btw one more point. go back and look how many were addressed to me. Of course I can’t expect the honesty that takes apparently.

I posted one comment in response when asked rather than give a link about her because it was not appropriate for this venue. I was speaking about several not just her. I didn’t dismiss the postive either please do not assume. I said I did not know in regards to that and made that plain.
