So what term do you use in place of ‘sinners’ since that is also dehumanizing.

I don’t support your progressive BS that attempts to strip language of it’s meaning,
which actually just replaces it with new words and phrases that carry the same meaning.

I am so sick of people saying america owes them something or they have a right to something just because parts of the USA use to belong to Mexico. I am Mexican american and I feel ashamed about that aspect of some people who share my ethnicity. Yeah, Mexico lost some land in a war. I say to those people GET OVER IT. That is how things go. Mexico is lucky that all of Mexico was not overthrown and annexed. Land is lost in war, you do not cry about it 100 years later especially when that land was taken from someone else to begin with.

I’m not one to pigeonhole because I’m an Independent and agree with the USCCB’s observation that neither major party conforms to Catholic teaching.

We are all sinners. That isn’t dehumanizing; on the contrary, it makes us human. Nobody is “an illegal.”

I’m still trying to wrap my head around how you’re blaming the victims.
Sending back illegals may be the best thing for causing change in Mexico, as they demand a more responsive and capable Govt.
Mexicans have spent well over three centuries doing this. I’m sorry you don’t think they’re working hard enough for you, but I promise that a lot of blood has been shed in this effort.

Just World Theory simply has no place in this discussion.

i think they are a democracy, not the greatest but they do provide the basics.

If you want the US to overthrow their govt, then man up and make your case.

However the US is not responsible for funding their citizens that want something better, it’s up to them to either fix what they have, or live with it.

The US should lead by example, by taking better care of our homeless and unemployed. Importing cheaper workers is not part of our solution.

Now THAT is an example of a Strawman. Where on earth did I say that??

I don’t triage humanity based on who is more worthy of compassion and human rights. Neither did Christ. Neither did the Old Testament God. Neither should you. 🙂

Malachi 3:5:
“So I will come to put you on trial. I will be quick to testify against sorcerers, adulterers and perjurers, against those who defraud laborers of their wages, who oppress the widows and the fatherless, and deprive the foreigners among you of justice, but do not fear me,” says the Lord Almighty.

Shows how little you know of the history of democracy in the US and other countries. They all have corruption, and it’s been quite bad at times.

I’ve never heard anybody say the U.S. owes Mexico anything, though I think many people in Mexico view The U.S. as Imperialistic. After all, the American government did militarily conquer more than half of Mexico a few generations ago. I think more people today resent the current cultural colonization of Latin America, and the export of moral rot.

When you are in a march demanding citizenship while waving a flag from a different country, stepping on the american flag, and buring american flags, your sending the wrong message.

The Mexicoan Bishops should be caring for their poor, not exporting them.
Maybe exporting them is their way of helping them?
Perhaps we should pass on the gift to Canada as our way of helping.

And we view them as a Narco State. The Mexican Government has failed and it’s a risk to our National Security to allow a drug war to continue near our border.
I’m honestly surprised we haven’t militarily intervened.

lol. Canada is a special place and therefore exempt from all responsibility.

It wouldn’t work. Canada’s Chuck Norris guards the border :man_shrugging:t2:

Certainly; the huge demand for illegal drugs in the U.S. has resulted in a war among the suppliers who have divided the entire country of Mexico into territories controlled by different drug cartels leaving rivers of blood in their wake. So in a way, the insatiable American demand for illegal drugs has helped to completely ruin a once peaceful country…

The dignity of illegal migrants is disrespected when they are exploited by unscrupulous employers and trafficked by even more unscrupulous people.

The US efforts to enforce its immigration laws does in no way violate or abrogate the dignity of illegals.

You are barking up the wrong tree on this one.

This is becoming true. So far the CBS are being quite civil, they take your details and then bus you into town/camp. One difference may be the people are claiming asylum and are not your typical economic migrants
