No, irrelevant because it has nothing to do with the thread - which to be honest was derailed eons ago.

Irrelevant because none of the people coming here illegally are in danger of starving to death.

(1) Risk my life to violate a border and run the risk of being shot (yeah, they shoot to kill), being detained, sent back to potential jail

(2) swipe food from a supermarket, maybe get caught.
I said if i had no other choice. There is always a risk. I might be killed coming into America, but if i am going to starve to death anyway. I would take the risk.

What difference does my opinion make? Those experiences are completely outside of my life experiences. The only way a person can know how they would react would be if they were in a desperate situation like you described. I am assuming the people commenting on here have never been is such a condition. Our personal thoughts add nothing to the conversation.

I’d like to think I would take the risk to cross the border, but I will never know the truth. (Thank you, God)

Yes you are right. I have seen the families who live and eat from the garbage sites in Guatemala. There are plenty of scraps for all.

And those aren’t the families who have enough money to trek through 2 countries.

Illegal immigrants tend to be at the top of the middle class (relative) in their own countries. Not the poorest.

So if you’re dead, what about your family? What good does that do them?
I don’t know. Maybe a good Christian nationalist will put their ideology aside and fight for their citizenship, maybe put them somewhere where they can have some good healthy food to eat.

Miracles happen.

In most of Guatamala, you just need to walk 10 feet into the jungle to find food. Of course, you need to avoid the things that could kill you. Even in the city, you can still find produce and iguanas.

As a good Christian Nationalist I will not harm my countrymen to aid a hostile foreigner.

Lots of assumptions there. A lot of depending on the actions of others.

Lots of judgment as well.

Good evening to you. I’m out.

If i have no choice, then i have to take that chance. If you think i should let my children die because it’s against the law, then yes, i judge you as not being reasonable…

looool…If a starving man and two starving children running away from a tyrannical regime is a hostile foreigner then there is no hope for America.

they hop on trains

Nonsense. You obviously have never travelled to Latin America.
The problem is that some people are just not wanted. If it is about following laws and legalities, then simply change the laws.

I’ve spent a lot of time in Mexico and Argentina.

I’ve also worked side by side with illegals chopping tobacco and bailing hay.

I know these people. They are economic migrants. Not refugees from famine.

If the situation was reversed, would you enter a country illegally to find a way to feed your family and educate your children, if the legal process was going to take 20 years?
Your poll fails on the premise, economic migrants aren’t coming from a starvation situation and they have schools there. Things are pefectly functional back home, it’s just better in the US where they can save and repatriate their earnings for their future.

I did this myself when young, I worked abroad for 10 yrs and built up a nest egg before returning to the US.
