I am not relying on the internet for my statements. I am relying on their own admissions. They said that Flynn did not talk to the Russians, called it fake news. They said he did not talk about sanctions - called it more fake news. Hours before he was fired they said he had the President’s confidence. Later said he resigned on his own, then admitted he was forced to resign.I am blown away by the way our country has embraced what passes for news on the internet. The liberal mainstream media at its worst was never as far out in left field from reality as conservative America is today, and people are buying it hook, line and sinker. It is a truly amazing phenomena. Even when absolute fraud is shown, the lies do not die.
Pretty much everything about this incident that they have denied or called fake news they now admit to be true.
Now we are hearing that the campaign had contact with the Russians before the election. Why would we believe the denials of that, when their other denials are now admitted to have been wrong?
It takes more than labeling allegations “fake news” to convince me on these issues, especially with the administration’s recent track record. Credible Senators and Congressmen from both parties have pledged to get to the bottom of this. I hope they are serious about that.

Exactly! That is what an investigation is for, like happened to Hillary Clinton. If nothing illegal happened or is provable, then there is no investigation, again like Hillary Clinton. I do not think it too much to ask for a little consistency.

As has been pointed out, the FBI concluded that Hillary did not lie to them. I don’t know whether Flynn lied to the FBI or not. If he told them the same thing that he told the VP, then he may be in trouble. Fair enough. I don’t think there will be as many investigations as there were into Hillary, but I take the congress at its word when they say they will thoroughly investigate - and they should.Post #123 is why Hillary has been brought up.

It’s amazing transcripts were leaked on Flynn, but Trey Gowdy and others were never able to receive any from the WH to the Benghazi consulate…

We don’t know that he “went rogue”, but we do know some of the intelligence people did in leaking sensitive information to the press, and probably for political reasons.I thought this op was about Flynn.

Without knowing the content of the leaked conversations, we can’t know whether what Flynn did was “rogue” or not, and likely we’ll never know because the content is probably not in the national interest to release publicly.
Apparently, though, some Snowden in the intelligence world thought it okay to release the information to the press.
Might as well let Snowden come back and call him a hero which, of course, some do.

I heard one suggestion that it may have been someone in the White House who leaked the story, not someone in the intelligence community, since the story just gave the gist and not the actual transcript of the conversation. Or, maybe it was even the spouse or mistress of someone in the White House, sort of a Mata Hari.
Maybe we will eventually find out who it was.
What is really good about this is that Trump is finding out that everything leaks – secret information, and hopefully he will come to find out that pipes carrying fracking gas & oil and tar sands bitumen also leak… and maybe come to realize that water is more basic to life than oil or gas. Hopefully soon enough to avert real harm.
