About 94% of our police don’t live in the city, they live in the suburbs which are considerably less liberal and more racist.
I’m with you on your post, except for what you posted up here. Calling the suburbs even a little racist is absurd. They may be “less liberal” than inner city Minneapolis, but far more liberal than 95% of the country.

We need to pray more… What we are seeing is a result of a non-Catholic society.

Simple. I would have informed him that he was putting too much pressure on his neck and that he needed to get off. If he initially refused, I would have appealed to his sense of self-preservation and quickly reminded him of both the bad optics and the potential for a lawsuit. It’s really not complicated. Not sure why you frame it as if it is.

Probably because regardless of what you say he’s going to come back with a snarky remark. You can’t win in this case. There’s cop bashing going on around these forums like crazy.

But the potential is very small since similar cases ended well for the malefactor. He has had multiple complaints without much punishment so chances are that he knew he could get away with it.

Read what they are saying on social media. They are supportive of the protests. Longfellow has already had one meeting today to make plans for cleanup. They will rebuild and those who don’t or go elsewhere, others will take their place. This is a vibrant neighborhood and we are not going away.

I’m aware of his record. I was simply answering a smug question about what I would have done had I been there.

Oh? Do you know Edina, Hopkins, Minnetonka and all the suburbs I speak of? I can tell you unequivocally they harbor many racists, starting with the Minneapolis and St. Paul police.

Well the corporations that hire them should probably reconsider.

Yes, so I assume you are ignorant then that we’ve already had clean up efforts going on since the first violence broke out. And that we’ve got food drives organized for tomorrow. And trash pick up. And, and, and…

But what do you, an outsider and mere observer know of it? This is our neighborhood, we’ll do it whatever you and others think.

The University of Minnesota already has cancelled their contract. Other corporations are following. Our neighborhood and others would fire them all tomorrow. They are worse than useless, they are a menace.

The riots are so negative in all regards…there is nothing accomplished!
The looting…well, after a hurricane occurred in our area… people . . . were looting the abandoned homes all around the area. I was shocked! They were stealing from the unfortunate! How can someone feel that stealing is a rightful cause? Why do some feel that others possessions is theirs to take? An awful murder happened and there is NO justification for what is happening in major cities…just stirring up the hate! Instead, they should kneel and Pray for all the diversity…among so many and remember God’s commandment of “Love Thy Neighbor”! Amen!

Minneapolis is not Detroit. When we decided to move from Texas some years ago, we looked at a number of places, including Detroit. Minneapolis is unique for a number of reasons, not least is the incredibly diverse and strong small business climate here. Detroit has one small area of vibrant economy. The Twin Cities are full of strong neighborhoods like ours. We will not cede our cities to these outsiders and their dark motives.

It’s simple. We hate racism and we’re not putting up with it anymore. The police will reform or they will be thrown out with the trash
