My favorite part of Weird Al’s Amish Paradise video is the men ogling over a centerfold where she’s showing, le gasp, her calves. But I can see her forearms!!! Jezebel!

One girl in jeans, another wearing overalls sans shirt. I dig it.How about we dress like the Waltons?
There’s no intention to deceive. It’s just fashion. Not everyone wearing a New York Yankees cap is claiming to have played professional baseball. It’s pretty common here to see men’s shirts with stuff like “Iowa Lacrosse Club 1978” or “Red Canyon Hiking” or some such nonsense with a crest or badge on it when it’s super, super obvious that the person has never in their lives had anything to do with any of those activities.
Shaaaaame! Why haven’t you sold your computer or something to buy a tux? Is God not worth it?I do not have a tuxedo, so no. I wear the best that I can though.
I try to remember to mind my own business in speech, thought, and consumption.I have seen modesty threads but they’re usually directed at modesty for women. What are some modesty tips and tricks for men?
Nonsense. Every well-dressed gentleman needs at least one good Fedora.Don’t wear a fedora, unless you’re in a blues band
A fedora is acceptable for casual wear. For more formal occasions, however, a top hat is essential.Nonsense. Every well-dressed gentleman needs at least one good Fedora.
Not at all.Man, I hope this is tongue in cheek.
If it’s a casual fedora, certainly. But my gray rabbit-fur Stetson is anything but casual.A fedora is acceptable for casual wear.
Of course not, but no one implied that they should. And it’s not true that a gentleman can never wear a hat anywhere indoors. It’s perfectly appropriate to leave them on in public buildings, or the public areas of a building such as lobbies, elevators and hallways.Men shouldn’t wear hats in church…
Modesty standards change with time, but I believe God’s standards do not. Most churches do not enforce dress codes, but that says nothing about what God approves of.Bear in mind he was writing for a different time. (Consider that in the past, prostitutes wore more clothing than what we consider modest these days.) In addition there is no requirement from the Church to veil.
I’m just guessing, imagining what he would answer if i asked. Why would you assume that?
