You know Ben you are unreal. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer thats for sure:D

All I can say is opinions are like *******s everyones got one. 😃

I don’t know who you are trying to kid, or convince, yourself or others. And I do know you failed either way. I actually feel sorry for you.

So you can keep spreading these ugly little lies about our Lord and Savior. I guess it makes you happy, ITs sad but true how people get their kicks these days.

But to eveyone else God Bless, for myself Im outta here, Life is too short to even let people like this insult my intelligence.

Thats all he is trying to do, get everyone to fight and get upset. Maybe someday Ben you may want to try to pick up the bible and at least pretend to act like you know what you are talking about.

But for me, I shake the sand, and will be gone. Not worth my time.šŸ™‚

Just so.

Sadly history does not work like that. Nobody can rewrite history. History has recorded the life and death of Jesus. Your views on the matter 2000 years later don’t amount to a hill of beans, I’m afraid.
Hi Thing, wake up and smell the coffee! Nobody can rewrite history! What are you talking about? They do all the
time and everywhere. Haven’t you ever heard that History is usually written by the conqueror?

I bet you have never heard why there is no record of Moses and Israel in Egypt outside the Bible. Rewriting of History my friend. Nobody knows for sure what happened in the past because of that precise reason: Rewriting of History.

Ben: 😃

Well, my friend, you asked for it. Next time think twice before you ask for someone’s opinion on anything you are expecting to hear favorable to your views.

Ben: 🤷

Great opinion. Now, can you back it up with documents or writings? We Christians back up our beliefs with the Gospels. Now we ask for you to back up your beliefs.
THANK you, Eucharisted. I’m still waiting.

I would agree with you. I haven’t found anything in the gospels that would indicate that Jesus was anything but Jewish. He was very strictly orthodox it seems. I don’t think that he added much to the law except in saying to love your enemies.

Do you know of any other additions?
No one ever claimed he wasn’t Jewish . As for being strictly orthodox, I would not say that, on occasion Jesus bent the rules. I am recollecting the conversation Jesus had with the Pharisees about the Sabbath. Also, consider the many followers he had, must have had something interesting and different to say.
Code:
" I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of the
Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever
eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will
raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and
my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my
blood remains in me, and I in him. Just as the living Father
sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who
feeds on me will live because of me . . . "

"On hearing it, MANY of his disciples said, "This is a hard
teaching, who can accept it?" '
I would say that is a pretty radical message.

How about this bible passage:
Code:
"I tell you the truth" Jesus answered, "before Abraham was
born, I am" At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but
   Jesus hid himself . . . "

If I thought like you I would say the Old Testament was a lie and the Egyptians were correct. Nobody knows fror sure what happened in the past you say? - except you, you know everything. And I’m really happy for you. Rewriting history is a bad idea, don’t do it. Either believe in Christianity or don’t believe it, but leave the recorded history alone.

:sad_yes:

No Ben, no offense but you are not my friend. I could never have a friend who spreads lies about my Dear Jesus. I can only pray for you and ask everyone on here to do that. You really do need alot of help. As my kids would say you have some serious ISSUES:sad_yes:

Shalom Guy. To begin with, the Mosaic or Sinaitic Covenant was not between God and man in general, but only with Israel. It will always exist, at least as long as both partners are in existence. The Covenant between God and man, period, was the Noahite Covenant.

There is no other covenant to come. The last renewal of the Mosaic or Sinaitic Covenant under the new name of New Covenant was effected when the Jews returned from exile in Babylon under the leadership of the most famous Scribe in the History of Israel: Ezra.

Ben: šŸ™‚
OK. So, is the deliverer (messiah, the anointed), to be of worldly, or heavenly origin?

You are a Torah Jew, correct? Your scripture consists of the five books, which we know as the Pentateuch, or the first five books of the Christian bible (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy)?

Code:
"I tell you the truth" Jesus answered, "before Abraham was
born, I am" At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but
   Jesus hid himself . . . "
Well, that was one of his most embarassing moments they thought he was demon possessed. But, he was very strictly orthodox, he said that anyone who relaxes even the least of the commandments and teaches other to do the same, will be least in the kingdom of heaven.

So, have you relaxed any of the commandments lately?, there are 613 of them you know…

Since Ben is Jewish, let us teach him the faith as Jesus would have, or as the Apostles would have. Let’s give him some meat to chew on. Pope John Paul II taught us to consider the Jews as our ā€œelder brothers in the faithā€. I can certainly deal with him in that context, since it puts us in much the same situation as the Apostles.

Apart from your understanding and wise comment, which I appreciate, do you really believe that Jesus ever added to the Law to love one’s enemy? I don’t think so. What kind of destructive behaviour is to love one’s enemy? Respect yes,
I can understand, but to love!

Love is an emotion or feeling. No one can be commanded to love or to feel. And much less one’s enemy. What we owe and can be commanded to, is to respect, even our enemies.

Ben: 😊
Actually - not very wise.
Jesus was Jewish - that is certain. He is also God.

You and geometer are patting each other on the back by pointing out that Jesus, being an orthodox Jew "didn’t do much to the Law". Actually - h**e fulfilled it. Besides - how many Jews (or Christians) do you know that claim to be God.

The scriptures are filled with references about Jesus being God - even from the mouth of Jesus himself:
Psalms 110:1
Jeremiah 23:5-6
Isaiah 9:5-6
Isaiah 7:14
Matthew 1:23
Mark 14:61-62
Luke 7:16
John 1:1

**John 5:18 **
**John 10:30 **
**John 10:33 **
John 10:36
**John 13:13 **
John 20:28
John 8:58
2 Corinthians 4:4
Philippians 2:6
Colossians 2:9
1 Timothy 3:16
Titus 2:13

The word fulfill is a mistranslation, it should be perform. That whole passage is about Jesus telling everyone that they must strictly observe the commandments. You have not read it carefully.

There is no way for any man to prove that he is God, Jesus knew God as his father, and the gospel is that you to can be born of God, his offsping, and know God as your father. The whole gospel is in Jesus’ name, it means Yah delivers us.

Jesus was born again, the son of God…

Don’t expect any serious answers from this person. He has posted exactly the same threads/posts at other religious forums all over the Internet. Since he doesn’t seem to have absorbed or learned from any of them, I doubt he’ll learn anything here.

Geometer,

Have you raised any people from the dead lately, Jesus did!

:crossrc:

That was his whole ministry, he taught the disciples to perform miracles. And, if you believe him you will also perform miracles. Miracles are the signs of his followers, he said so…

For more than several times, I have been asked to post a thread on my views about Jesus.
I can only imagine the collective anticipation.
When he was 13, his parents brought him up to Jerusalem for his Bar Mitvah, and because he was a very gifted child, really precocious, he would indeed impress priests and Teachers of the Law with his wisdom.
Did he read from the Torah at the Temple? That would be interesting.
| also believe he was married, because the Law was strict about married Rabbis. One wouldn’t even start as a single Rabbi. And I believe he married Marry Magdalene because she was the one he loved and was loved by.
You’ve said this before but I am unfamilar with anything in the Talmud requiring a rabbi to marry. What is your source? Is it anything more than the commandment to be fruitful and multiply?
When Jesus left he made sure his disciples would continue his work of Torah revival. Then, there was never in the History of Israel a group of more missionary Jews than the Nazarenes. They organized the Sect and started making converts everywhere, even from among the Pharisees.
So now the Pharisees were converting to Judaism? Isn’t that like adding chocolate syrup to chocolate milk?

And you haven’t read:

John 8:58
Jesus said unto them, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am
.
Here he identifies himself as God in the same way that Moses was revealed to God in Exodus 3:14. Jesus uses the very same language.

Mark 14:61-62

**But he was silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him and said to him, *ā€œAre you the Messiah, the son of the Blessed One?ā€ ***
Then Jesus answered, "I am; and ā€˜you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.’"
(After this the high priest tore his garments because Jesus was saying that HE was God).

Read the other passages I referred you to, then we’ll discuss this rationally.

That was his whole ministry, he taught the disciples to perform miracles. And, if you believe him you will also perform miracles. Miracles are the signs of his followers, he said so…
You pointed out that no one has proof that Jesus was God. We have eye witnesses (historians if you will) who tell us that He was indeed what he claimed to be, the great I AM. I would think that all those who followed him did so not only because of his many spectacular miracles but mostly because of the life-giving words that completely transformed their lives ,society, the world in which they lived in. They were willing to suffer anything for Christ, and they did suffer and die, some in a way too horrible to speak of. I know they saw the risen Christ that is why their faith was unshakeable.

Do you have any proof (material) that your God exists? Did he ever step into space and time to reveal himself to his people? Do you know how much He loves you, My God died on a cross for me and I will never abandon Him. I love Jesus, my Lord and Saviour. God bless you, Geometer!
